Grassy, how are you...still okay? Milyn I hope your pain eases and you maintain that weight loss trajectory. Mary, you still doin' okay? Silk, I hope those patches work. Huronna, I hope you are having fun. I love touring mansions.
The grill purchase has been a nightmare, they got the order wrong and couldn't correct it. Finally got the right grill but it's being sent here in a box instead of to the store for assembly first. A lot of good it does to call Customer Service to order!! So, we'll have to take this 117.5 lb box back to HD to have it assembled. I'm not happy.
We had a nice time at the Westerners event last night catching up with friends and some newbies, picked up a Nailtique #2 order from Target on the way home. Applied it today, we'll see. I also bought some Morgan Taylor nail polish, just the perfect baby pink shade I'd wanted ON SALE at Sally's. Will pick up tomorrow when we take the grill back. I may just keep applying the Nailtique #2 for a few days before a polish coat.
Oh, you'll love this. You know how I've moaned about gaining 3 lbs I couldn't lose. We'll my small crop pants are baggy. So, me thinks I've gained muscle. Well I'm not that naive, not 3 lbs worth. So we checked the scale by putting 2-10lb dumb bells on it. It's weighing about 2.5 lbs heavy, perhaps more for me because if it's off w/20 lbs what is it off with my 126-7 lbs??? Go figure.

PG doe is drinking out of my bird bath tray just outside my window, she's carrying something in her belly. A little late this year but we had a weird winter.

What a wonderful thing to see outside your window Flagryl. I picture it in my mind. We had two gorgeous Rosellas on the deck rail when we had coffee. I read where our Aussie firefighters have returned from Canada. How amazing that the US, Canadian and Australian firefighters travel to help when needed. Grassy...how is the week with your sister?

Hi everyone!
I am OK. The medicine appears to be doing well with me. It's really hard to come with up with 350 calories to take with the medication, though.
Flagryl, that is indeed a huge bummer about the grill! Grrrr! I love the nail polish though! Morgan Taylor is great polish!
How are you Huronna?
How is your pain Silk?
How is everyone else?

I had an interview with a convenience store. I am nervous because I haven't heard back yet. They said I might not hear back before Tuesday, but I am still worried. The interview was an hour and fifty minutes so I figure if they weren't interested they would have stopped long before that right? If I could have a little good joujou, I'd sure love it!

Thanks Huronna . I googled the Australian dream cream. I need something stronger but I think it's a good one to keep on hand. So glad you're enjoying your visit. Best wishes Grassy for the job interview.

My week with my sister is going awesome! I forgot to tell you guys that. We are having relaxed fun because - well - because we are a bit leisurely. It was my mama's 89th birthday on Wednesday. I am not sure what we are doing tomorrow.
PG doe drinking out of the birdbath sounds really cool.
Oooooo goody! Leonarda beauties!

Grassy: Good Juju about that job! Glad you are having a relaxed week with your sister; you deserve it. Flagryl; that grill issue is annoying. I hope it works well after you go through all that. Pregnant Doe at Birdath sounds like a painting. I'm sure the animals are all suffering from the lack of water. We keep a tipped lo birdbath in the front yard for small wildlife, but it has not been needed lately. We've had a lot of rain. It's hot and humid. I am giving August and Sep the side-eye on the issue of the dreaded H weather (shhh... don't say it.) We have a very high water table here. When we get a lot of wind on saturated grounds the trees take naps. It's not good to be around when trees get Zzzz's. (I'm being funny, but you get the picture.) A worry for another day. I also bought Nailtiques 2 and a polish the color of my "mermaid"hair, but I have not used it yet. Yesterday was a busy day of tidying.
Some of you may remember that I mentored a very bright young man in North Carolina who had no prospects after high school and had specific goals: He wanted to travel and see amazing parts of the world. He wanted to go to a really good school so he could marry the girl he loved and take good care of her. He wanted to challenge himself. I helped him get accepted into the Air Force and supported him through Boot camp and training and two tours overseas as he got strong and lean and explored amazing places like Dubai and Paris, while working hard and getting accepted to Dartmouth (a top tier school in Vermont, on the GI bill, where he intended to study pharmacology with an emphasis on drugs for mental health and brain aging. I visited him near the end of his military career. Formerly slight, he walked tall and strong with a bit of a swagger and a lot of confidence. He had become a fitness guru and worked with shelter animals in his spare time because he missed his dog. He had won his gamble and was ready to tackle the rest of the plan. As he was out-processing from the USAF in the Spring to go to school he was in a near fatal T-Bone accident. Because he was in uniform and had not picked up his paperwork, he was considered active duty and his severe injuries (including head trauma) were not only covered, he was granted full disability. He went to Dartmouth in the fall of 2020. Yes; 2020. The year Dartmouth accepted freshmen and sent them immediately into isolation, working from their rooms on Zoom. His pain was still high, he had PTSD, he found Vermont voices and behaviors strange, and stranger still since everyone was masked. The courses were hard and for the first time he struggled. He took enormous amounts of Ginko Biloba to help him study. His girlfriend left him in a fairly messy and devastating way. He wasn't sleeping or eating well as he approached the end of the 2nd term. He had a psychotic episode during finals in early 2021 and nearly died. It was I who made the decision to tell his mother to send the police to go find him where he was in the woods saying goodbye to me; that he was transcending. A month after my mother had passed; this was very hard on me. His mother also had had a call. When I called her she was pacing and trying to decide. She is not very strong. He began a series of inpatient stays at VA facilities and then has been living at home. Disability provides an income, but he was unable to take the pressure of returning to school - though he tried last year. I am not sure he was well treated at home; there were indications he was not. But he got a small job and was talking about school again - though not as grand or intense one - the last time we talked. He died Thursday. He was 27. His name was Zachary Brian Brown. His grandmother says he was battling alcohol and depression. He had become morbidly obese. An autopsy is being done; but she, a former nurse, feels it was a stroke. She contacted me late yesterday to tell me because: "I know he thought the world of you." And I felt the same about him. May he walk in the Light and find true Peace. The family is devastated. I am very sad.

Saddened by your story Milyn, but it’s a very often occurrence. Head injuries especially as well as other tragic injuries, need more than medicine and hospitalization, they need someone who really cares and can understand. You wind up second guessing so many things just to prevent them. People need someone right by their side in so many ways. Hard for me to totally explain this, but believe me, I know, I have lived with it and am still living with it after more then 45 years, and I don’t regret a minute of it. Sorry can’t say anything more at the moment.

Oh dear Milyn, the story of your friend is heart breaking. Very sad and I'm sorry. Roni, I hope you get some relief and plans are in order to take care of those issues, yes double Ouch is right. What fun Grassy, a week with your sister and your mom's birthday. I love birthday celebrations.
Grill is ongoing saga. Picked up the nail polish and returned it, wrong color. That's the problem with trying to pick online. I'll go back when I have some time to browse. Visited friend who had the back surgery, in the rehab unit. He's not a happy camper. I get it. Recovery is hard.
I'm doing better, taking my thyroid med in evening that that seems to work much better.
Silk, how are you? How is that patch working out?

That is so very sad Milyn. Hard for everyone involved. So young. Huronna, you are one of the most devoted people I know. Roni I empathize and hope you get some relief soonest. I've had a couple of mistakes buying cosmetics online Flagryl, colour usually. but I can't go shopping...mostly I've been satisfied with online shopping. I use Estee Lauder and am pretty safe but I am not going to pay exhorbitant prices for things like lipstick so go for cheaper there. Thank you. there is a little improvement with the pain but not enough for me to function well...I see my doctor again when two weeks are up to discuss it. I did bake a date and pecan loaf yesterday . Grassy glad to know youre' enjoying time with family.

Trying again. I'm ok. Spent the day with Mom Thursday after my gyno appointment. (She said I need testosterone because that is what is causing the spotting .) But insurance doesn't pay for it so we will see if I can afford it. I go back next Thursday to get my blood work results.
Mom was looking at some condolence cards she got in the mail and passed them on to me but I just couldn't read them. The funeral home had thumb drives made of the photo show that was put together for his visitation and celebration of life. I can't even get through this post without the tears rolling.
Roni I pray you get some relief soon!! I know u owe much you love MRI'S. Hope that wasn't too traumatizing for you!!
Hope everyone else is OK! So sorry for the loss of you and your husband's friend Flagryl!

Good morning, quiet here, but I’m awake and sitting in bed.
Our next trip was in Aug , we were going to spend five days with friends north of Atlanta and then a ship reunion in Nashville. Jay called me yesterday, couldn’t believe my cell phone was ringing as I never use it. Anyway he said that they would have to cancel our upcoming visit as a wicked storm went through and a huge tree fell onto their house. Their property is onthe lake and they have lots of trees. This one fell on their garage and totalled the two cars in it, part of the tree broke through the side of the house and is in the bedroom we usually use, no electricity or water. They are presently living with their son and may come down to FL for a couple of weeks to stay with us. He said the damage will run over $ 300,000 minimum and insurance doesn’t cover everything because it was “an act of God”. Have no idea how long it will take for all the repairs.
We fly back home very early Tuesday morning. Been a great vacation with long time friends.

Thank you everyone. Still processing, but doing better.
((((((Mary)))))) and ((((((((Roni)))))))
Silk, I hope the pain situation improves. Flagryl, I have never taken my thyriod pill in the evening. Hmmm... At least the doctor just restored the dosage after reducing it three months ago as the numbers were a tiny bit high. He has done that before and not liked the results, but did not think that info pertinent when I reminded him. Friday's visit showed all thyroid indicators very low. I hope that getting back up there will help me in a lot of ways. I just have to go pick it up and start! Huronna; that is a terrifying story; "Act Of God" covers a lot of ground. I'm glad no-one was hurt, and hope they get some luck in the repair area. Glad you have had a nice trip.

It's very quiet here. I want to get one more set done for the auction but can't drum up the energy just now. What a horrible thing to happen to your friends Huronna. Julien sees his surgeon today and will get a date I think for the surgery. I am very anxious . I am so proud of my son and his family.

I have more for the auction if you need. I'm sure you are on pins and needles Silk, let us know.
On the mundane side, grill will be delivered Thurs after much consternation. Ins adjusted called today, experts will be out this week per windows. No word on the skylights.
Memorial for my sister in law will be in October, son is doing okay at best. And, John will have a hard time for some time, she was like a surrogate mother to him, bonded. And, he's the last one standing...male with 3 sisters all gone.
Saw the doe today, OMword vey skinny...so she's dropped at least twins. The buck was around this morning as well. Hope to see the fawns soon.
