You have quite the job ahead of you, so you think you'll be ready for company mid October?

Well Suzie, I have been doing the very thing your daughter is telling you. Downsizing. I would live in a tiny house if I could find one to my liking. I'm just tired of stuff I have to dust and work around. Jen has hauled 2 loads in her SUV away to the thrift store and Phoenix has taken a couple in her car and I'm still cleaning out. I've sold my 12 ft. windmill and my queen bedroom furniture. I am downsizing my bed from a queen to a full and it is adjustable so Jen will get all my bedding. I'm just tired of "stuff". It feels liberating to get rid of all that unnecessary stuff.
I thought when you said the house was ready to move in that it was ready. Usually they don't release a place until appliances and cabinets are in, unless the homeowner is buying the appliances of course. I hope youcan find room or just decide to get rid of what you really dont need. Once boxes are unpacked and everything is arranged you will feel so much better and then can enjoy your own privacy. Just be careful bending and lifting. Don't over do!

Morning. Yesterday PT totally changed my routine. I did not do to well slow walking without any cane or walker but managed. Found the left side hip muscle is a bit weak so now have to work on that. They took me off the stepper and put me on the bike which was a bit rough but taking a baby steps got it to going the way it was supposed to. Side stepping up and down the step was ok but stepping straight up without holding on to the rail was a fail. Standing from sitting without using arms to push was almost a fail. Balance on one leg was a fail. They expected that though since it was a first time. I have to put those in my daily routine now. Still felt like I had done as well as I could.
Suzie the apartment sounds do-able just need to get used to less space. I think we all need to downsize a lot. I know I do and it is hard to get rid of some things.
Huronna, my hubby had the VA appointment that includes a fasting blood test. At first they talked virtual then decided for him to come to the office after all. He had to text them when he was in front of the clinic then they would text him to come in. Things have changed so much and come Nov could even have worse changes to come.
Well I have to go do home PT. Have a safe but good labor day weekend.

You know my orthopod said eventually I would have to have a knee replacement. Now what is eventually? Right now I'm 75, I can't imaging having a replacement and doing what you have been doing at 85 or 90 (That's eventually for my mind LOL) Just be careful that you don't fall. My BIL's girlfriend has a knee replacement and was doing well until someone accidentally pushed her and she fell BAM! cracked her hip and had to have that replace. Of course she was very late 70's and brittle bones.
Well nothing interesting here, been bidding on the zone auction which is quite DEAD! Hope it livens up a bit

Huronna, Only thing here that is 85 or 90 is the outside temps. LOL You know my age now since we chatted. I am on the shelf as to when to get the other one done if he wants to do it soon. Don’t want to be much older but then again this has been a trial.

Been about those temps here also, maybe a bit higher. Then we just had a bif thunder and lightening storm that lasted about 10 minutes, typical Florida. Auction os over and now I can work on some more Angel challenges and the Hot swap at The Zone.

Temps were pleasant today. I was outside most of the afternoon. All this coming week we will be lucky to get out of the 50s during the day and it will be near freezing at night. Snow is predicted for the Black Hills so winter is on the way.
School started the 26th and poor Phoenix has already been exposed to Covid, so I won't be able to see her now for 2 weeks. She said her, another girl and 3 or 4 boys were the only ones who wore masks. I hope she will be OK. Jen pulled her out of school so she will be doing virtual and Zoom for the long term.
I hope all are having a nice Labor Day weekend. Holidays are just another day for me anymore.

Hello, my most precious Tigerlilies! How's tricks? I am here. A little bit sick. I slept most of the day yesterday and today. But now i am ready to howl. Sid gave me his credit card so I got some kits and tubes. I was able to take advantage of the big tube sale at Verymany. I even got some animal tubes. Ha ha. I stocked up on Halloween tubes. Hee hee, now I need to sort the folder, which is huge and a big old mess but I am so lucky to have this problem!

I had to check back against my folder to see if I already had tubes. I found 15. Now I can only look at new tubes. It's too confusing. Although once I sort my big old messy folder, I might be able to buy some more animals. Now my tubes can have pets!

Grassy, if you sign into their site, it will have a little check mark on the ones you already own. If they didn't do that I would be totally lost. I think I have over 200 of their tubes.

It's a dark, COLD and rainy day here in the Dakotas. 47°, rain and not to get above 48° today. A winter storm warning is in effect for the Black Hills until tomorrow night. They are expecting up to 9" of that luscious (not) white stuff!! It won't be long now. Our weather here is depressing. We go right from winter to summer and right back to winter. Spring is spent shoveling snow and so is most of Fall.
I smile at your posts Grassy. You are always trying to clean up and organize messy folders, etc. LOL
I hope your Labor Day is going well and your weather is better. The holidays are just another day to me now without John. If he were here we would still be in the mountains and would have gotten to the campground on Wed and stayed 2 weeks. I miss the life we had, but the memories bring me a lot of smiles and good feelings. 😁
Have a great day everyone. Stay safe if you are on the roads.

Hi Anita from next door in Minnesota! We do not have any warnings, but it sure got blustery! It is total Winnie the Pooh weather over here. My sisters live in Colorado. I think they are supposed to get snow. One lives in Denver and one lives way up in the mountains. Ha ha, my folders are always a mess because I arrange them one way and then realize that is not an optimal way to file my contents so I want to re-do it so I want to re-do it. I am never happy with how my folders are arranged. Ha ha ha. I am astonished with how many tubes I have! Holy canolies! Especially the Verymany ones! I have also fallen in love with an artist name Selisan al-Gaib. Hop on over to Scraps & Company and check him out there. I am trying to figure out how to de-hoochify. How do you get rid of the knees that are right up by the beautiful faces? How do you get rid of the hoochie parts without obscuring the tube or "dressing" it? I know! So many questions! I just want to be able to use as many tubes as I can. Some cannot be used. Ha ha (like Fluff). I can't believe I was ever that hoochie!
In other news, my kidneys are still not functioning right. I see Nephrology on Wednesday. Grrr. I have never been to Nephrology so I have no idea what they will do to me. Should I be worried? I have been lolling about. Sleeping a ton which is weird for me. I discovered a show I had never seen before - Friday Night Lights. They were showing a marathon of it last night and I watched many episodes. I have no idea who the characters were or what was happening, but I loved it so much! It's about a high school football team and their coach and the teachers and students and families. It was super great! Sid had bought it for me at the beginning of Minnesota's quarantine, so I have access to it. I guess I just never expected to be staying home so long. There is so much good TV I never realized! And so many good books! I didn't expect to be this busy with all these amusements! Plus PSP fun!
How are all of you? I haven't had a chance to read the thread yet. I wanted to check in a say hi and let you all know that I love you.

I just checked out that artist, your right, a bit too hard to de-hootchi-fy. I'm careful what I buy at VeryMany. I think I have all those that are multilayered, and lots of time I will just use the close up. I've used every one I have bought at some time, and some more than once.
Right now we are having the typical Florida afternoon thunder storms, beautiful one minute and then wham!! 10 minutes of lightening and thunder. There was news that someone got hit by lightening today, but didn't say anything more.
I'm still stuck on reruns, Chicago PD and all the Law and Orders. Because I worked second shift for 20 years, I missed most of them. I love getting to the gym on the hour, so I can watch 30 minutes on the treadmill and then the last 30 minutes on the elliptical. Makes the time go faster.
Today seemed like Sunday, but now a days every day seem to seem like the same day. I need to plan another small weekend visit somewhere. ANYWHERE

Miss Huronna, are things in Florida more open than in Minnesota? Things here are pretty strict, but they are beginning to loosen up. We can go to the zoo and do some museum tours now, but there are restrictions. On Friday, Governor Walz will decide if our emergency measures are still to remain. If he decides that we are OK, then everything will re-open. He may remove our mask mandate too. All of this is contingent upon our State Legislature, though.
The days seem to blur because the routine is the same now. It's like when I worked 3rd shift ha ha ha.
I love Law & Order! Did you know there was another Law & Order show called Crime and Punishment? It is about largely Death Penalty crimes and it follows the person from verdict to either exoneration to execution and all the legal processes that happen. It is interesting. I didn't know it existed.
I have never seen Chicago PD.
Ha ha ha, when I worked for Government, I worked 2nd shift in a Federal Call Center. We helped the military and our warfighters. We all liked a show called Big Brother. I got my mama to watch the show and when I had my lunchtime, I would call her and she would tell me all about the episode so I could tell my co-workers. My mama hated Big Brother. She absolutely could not stand it. To this day, when I call my mama and ask what's on she says, "Oh I suppose that dumb stupid Big Brother!" That is mama love for you.

Grassy, I can’t remember the exact dates things started opening. Restaurants for dine in opened up at 25% and we went the second night and have gone once every ten days as they have opened up a bit more. The gyms opened before I had my knee operated on and I went to strengthen my arms and upper body, just in case. You had to wear a mask when you entered but then you could take it off because there was social distancing. Every other machine was disabled and they had and still have cleaning equip everywhere and people are really good about Cleaning the machines once they are done. Beauty parlor has been opened because I have gotten my hair cut and need it cut again. You do have to wear a mask. My pedicure lady was pregnant, but five weeks after she deliver she reopened, she had her own private room, so though she wears a mask, her clients can take them off. Grocery store we still have to wear a mask, though in the beginning you didn’t have to. That is bout all that affects us. So except for no big travel plans our life is pretty copacetic. We do socialize with one couple in our homes, and another couple that we normall saw for dinners out, we have not seen since this began. Most schools have reopened now, all private ones are in person, and public are half and half.
I’m actually hoping to visit AZ and Suzie in October, but need to make sure I get my absentee ballot in and mailed before then....so life goes on

Huronna, we are still fairly restricted. One of the restrictions that tickles me is if you go out to dinner, only four non-related people can sit together, but you can have ten related people sitting together. I just thought it was strange because not everyone who is related lives together. My gym never re-opened after they were allowed to. The financial strain was too much for them. I miss the gym because it was a 24-hour one so we could go like at 11:00 p.m. and we could spend as long on the machines as we wanted to. Most of Minnesota is doing in-person classes for K-12. There are pockets where hybrid learning and then distance learning are needed because of infections. University is different from college to college. I have not eaten out yet because none of the restaurants I love have re-opened yet. The chains are all open, but with my crazy diet, I am just not feeling places like the chains. I really wish we had Chik-Fil-A and Panda Express here. Those are two chains I am really craving. And Popeye's too ha ha.

Do you know I have only eaten at Panda express twice, and their food is terrific. I have never been to either Popeye's of Chik-Fil-A, though I have heard for fried food they are really good. We passed a Chick the other day and I was amazed that the ling of cars for take out was totally around the building. They must be doing something right especially since this was only 4 in the afternoon.

Mmmmmmmm, when I lived in Georgia, Chik-Fil-A and Zaxby's and Popeye's were *the* places to go for chicken. Because my whole career has been teaching and Customer Service, I tend to go to places where I get the best customer service. Chik and Popeye's are bar none the BEST in terms of customer service and quality of food. I love Zaxby's for the chicken salad and the grilled chicken sandwiches. I don't believe Zaxby's is this far north, though. There is a Popeye's in Bloomington, MN, but that is 75 miles away. There is a Panda Express in Rochester, so I could go there after a Mayo visit, but usually I just want to get home in time for Jeopardy ha ha ha. I am so old I have a TV schedule! I have to get home in time for my "stories!"
I forgot to say that I hope you have a blast with Suzie! Thanks for the reminder about voting. I voted early in 2016. I need to make sure my polling place will have the special machine for visually impaired voters again this time. Or I will vote absentee if the machine is not available for me. Usually I schedule a time and go vote by appointment.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all doing well. We've been doing things and stuff. The weather has been going down to 27 - 30 degrees at night. We are trying to get the cat's beds taken care of with the blankets to keep them warm at night.
I've been going through a asthma/infection spell again. Got double the trouble because I was on meds for it for 2 weeks... off for a week and got really sick again and on meds again. Today is my last day on the meds... hoping all is well now.
We normally vote by mail... but this time we will vote and walk our ballots into the clerks office and hand it to her.
Have fun with Suzie Huronna. Little vacations are always fun.

Brrrr, that is cold. I think my blood would freeze. I probably won't be going out to Suzie's until the end of October. Have to make sure I get my ballot in and counted. I wonder what will be open in AZ....hmm. SO sorry that your asthma has been acting up again. Did you ever find out anything more about insurance coverage for those whopping expensive shots? I just thought I would check my insurance for those three injections I had in my knee...eek gads each time it was
Provider billed $1,954.72 Allowed amount$422.79 Medicare and/or other insurance paid $336.86 TRICARE paid $85.93 Patient Paid 0
I never could understand these billing practices. If they billed almost 2000 and for paid a total os around 422, what happens to the rest? And why do they bill almost 5 times as much as they know they are going to get. What a waste of paperwork and time. Maybe that is where all our money from taxes goes

Huronna... I got a call from the doctor's office yesterday. I was denied again for the shots by my secondary. The reason they stated is because I was not taking the Symbicort for 3 months in a row. The problem is... I have taken Symbicort for almost 5 years BUT... I used to get it for $25 for the first month of the year, then free for the rest of the year. Then they stopped the doing that and gave coupons. But even with the coupons the Symbicort cost to me is almost $300 a month. Well, I didn't stop taking it but I stopped buying it from the pharmacy. I got it for free elsewhere. That has created a problem for me because it doesn't show up on my pharmacy report that I get it. I cannot afford $300 a month for that, then the rescue inhaler is almost $300 then my other breathing meds... so on and so forth. Moral of the story is... don't get your meds for free elsewhere if you think you will need shots that cost $5,000 a shot.
But... we did figure out a while back that Medicare will not pay for the Symbicort because it is an inhaler, they will pay for liquid (vials) that I use with my nebulizer. So now I get it for free and it shows on my pharmacy report. I just have to wait out the 3 months they say I need to take it.
Hope that makes sense... it's just complicated. They said in the report I do not need the shots because I didn't take the med they said I need to take for 3 month in a row even though I've been in the ER, to the doctors, lung special, and admitted to the hospital numerous time because I couldn't breathe. Go figure.

geeze Louise!! I use Spiriva and somewhere along the line they reordered my yearly script, and the one I had was still in effect. For some reason no one noticed that so for almost a year I was getting double. I have a friend that is a bit older than me and her insurance isn't the best and Medicare doesn't pay for it when you hit that "dounut hole" so I think I gave her about 6-8 months worth. Much better than throwing it away, if it can be used.

Yup... that's how I was getting mine for free. Someone uses it, but not as much as they get in the mail. It's a shame we have to do things like that. I use something that cost $1200 but my friend gets it for $7 ... who do you think I'm going to buy my meds from...the pharmacy or my friend. LOL
