The 1st day of Sept. in NE S Dakota brings cold North winds and 63°. A definite chill is in the air. Sadly, our summer is quickly coming to an end. Some of the leaves have already begun to change. Snow will be flying next month.
I am still cleaning out and downsizing and moving furniture. In between, sitting to rest my bad knees. At night I am back to hand quilting a lap quilt while watching TV. It is slow going, but making progress. I'm glad everyone is doing as well as can be. Stay safe and happy.

I can't believe it is September. One day runs into another, and I feel sorry for everyone who has not been able to enjoy their summer weather because of various issues going on in the country and world. I hope we will begin to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping a new month will bring me initiative to get at some of my projects that I keep putting off!
Stay well, everyone. Let your light shine in these dark days.

Two great pieces of news Roni, congrats on the apt and fantastic MRI results. Came home from the gym today and hubby said...let's go to Olive Garden later. EEEKkk I'm still stuffed and brought home enough for dinner tomorrow. Every once in a while now, I oink oink, and then it's back to watching everything I eat for about two weeks. I should learn because I am still very uncomfortable and it's almost midnight

Shortiepolly... I believe you can create your own post on the General Board to show your photos with proper copyright on them.
It got so cool here last night that I thought for sure my heater would come on. Today was super nice out. I love the temps around 70 or so.
Happy September!

Ottieeeeee....where have you been hidig girl?? We have missed you so much. Huronna told me about beautiful Reese and I was so sad to hear that. Bless her heart, she was so beautiful. I hope you have been well. What have you been doing lately?
You would have to post all the photos in the same post and either me or Huronna will make a place for them in the "safe background" area if you would like them there. You can't access that area as it in the admin section. Otherwise just start a new thread and name it Ottie's Photos or something like that and put them all there. I hope you have hosting site to post them from. We are limited on how many attachments we are allowed. If we get too close we have to start deleting them and that can prove difficult. Roni, awesome news about the MRI results. Great news about the apt. also.

Hey Polly, so good to see you and wonderful to have talked to you the other night. I did save a few photos the other night from your facebook page, but of course those were to my own liking, sure others would love different once. And yes, we will all miss Reese, but we have a lot of memories of her.

Good afternoon. Just got back from another PT appointment. The therapist was bragging on my success and said I am not blowing smoke, I really mean it. Lol I woke up this morning with no pain in my knee. I could not believe it so got out of bed and walked, still no pain to speak of. First thing they ask at therapy is what is your pain level today. I said zero now but know after routines I will have some. Yes I did but only about 2 so very happy. Roni , so happy about your good news. BEST news you could have given us. Huronna, you seem really busy all the time. I tried to follow a link to Angels but said I was not permitted. Oh well. Everyone have a great day or as great as you can have. I need to fold some laundry

AHA...you're not a member there. But since you aren't a siggie piggie or a tagger, it really wouldn't be of any interest to you. It is where we keep all our artist permission and thousands upon thousands of tubes of these artists. Most of the WWO are offered at both sites. It's not a chatty site like MAVELOUSarts or here. So for you, not necessary. If ever you want to become a tagger, just let me know though. (or a siggie piggie)

Sorry I haven't been around. I've had a lot going on in my life, plus, there's still a lot of hooopla going on with my daughter since her divorce. To make it short, he just doesn't quit causing chaos even though he has remarried.
Anyways, John gave me quite a scare recently with congestive heart failure and he's now wearing a "life vest" which will defribrillate if something goes wrong. It'll give him an electrical shock. He has to wear it for 3 months and then they will decide, from the results, if he needs an implant which is permanent. The vest alone costs almost $4000/mo to rent. We're applying for financial aid because we only have social security now. Anyways, between doctors, cardiologists, you name it, I've been quite overwhelmed, I cry a lot, but trying to convince myself to snap out of it. My grandaughter, who is a 3rd year medical student, has been a lot of help with paperwork.
It seems like all came crashing down when he finally decided to retire, at 75, when Covid started in March. He was pretty healthy up until then. He had rhumatic fever when he was young, at 6, and it's come back to haunt him, is basically what the cardiologists are telling us.
He's doing pretty good though.....just a little tired because the congestive heart failure really weakened his heart. He was full of fluid.
No coffee, no beer, heart healthy diet is helping a lot.
Thanks for listening.

Susy, that's a lot to be coping with. It's always hard to see our children suffer and no matter how old they are it goes on . Best wishes for John to feel better and you to feel not so over whelmed. It' hard .

Well Ottie, great to hear from you long lost friend. Love your pics so look forward to more. Roni, that is huge news, you go gryl. I hope all stays that way and the move goes well. Silk, enjoy your flowers. We are moving into Fall. Whispy, you are rockin' gryl. Oh Susy, sorry to hear about John's heart issues. Difficult and I'm sure it's stressful for you. Hang tough.
I think I've turned a corner on my back recovery but my poor shoulder is an issue, just hate to whine about it. The cousin who has pulled me back into the genealogy is just rockin'. He's a semi truck driver now [hauls pork bellies and whatnot to processing plants] and he and his wife, who sometimes goes with him, have been locating and decorating grave stones of our ancestors in Iowa. He's such a sweetheart and is interested in the DNA tests. I've done the lightweight Ancestry one but I think it's time for us to kick it up a notch and see what the male for him and female test for me does for us. We have a block at the main GGrandfather line. I talked to him for quite a while yesterday while he was driving those boring straight highways in Kansas. I have another more distant cousin who DNA tested so perhaps we'll hit pay dirt.

Well it's September 3rd already! It goes so fast! Sydnee starts back to school next week. Because of the Covid and the numbers being up around here, she will be doing Monday Tuesday and Weds online and actually be in the school Thurs and Fri.She is ready to go back and I am ready for her to go back!
Had to go for my Mammogram today.Glad it's over for another year hopefully! I am going to be starting a new medication for my MS hopefully next month. It's called Mavenclad. It is like chemo to kill off the B and T cells. Take it either 5 or 7 days one week and then the same the next month and then no medication for a year. Praying this works for me. No more IV delivery. The last med we were trying was an IV every 6 months but this last time I needed something after about 4 months so my Neuro decided to switch me to a different med.
Hope everyone is doing well!! Lots of love!

I often wonder how some people are so concerned about genealogy, and others it's of no circumstance. Maybe it's because there are families and the history will continue. Maybe it's interesting ancestors. It does fascinate me how some can trace their families back generations and generations.

I was always interested in some of my ancestors. I have my great grandfather's war diary he kept and I also have his letters he wrote to my great grandmother while he was serving. However, I have never been interested in digging into the past that much. Maybe I shouldn't say that though. People may think badly of me for that.
It is beautiful weather here. My a/c has been off for several weeks now. It got to 67° today and is to get into the mid 40s tonight. Next week it will be low 60s for daytime highs.
I am still cleaning out the house, giving up a LOT of stuff and unwanted furniture. I have sold our 12 ft windmill and the queen bedroom furniture on Marketplace. When Phoenix and I went to the thrift store to drop a load off we went in and I found a beautiful wooden headboard for my new adjustable bed when the mattress comes in. I downsized from queen to full and since my bed is only 5 years old, Jen will get it. It's a great bed-Serta IComfort. The most comfortable one ever (to me). So I'm doing a lot of changing furniture around in all my rooms.
I hope all is doing well and Roni, I know you were moving today so I hope you are taking time to rest and not over doing it.
Susy, very sorry to hear about John. I hope he does well with his vest.

So good to see you Ottie...I was a bit confused since I didn't know you as Polly. Mary, I hope the new meds help. Whispy...you are doing so well with you PT. Flagryl, Good news of your back but I'm sorry to learn that your shoulder is such a problem. I will be interesting to follow up on your heritage. Joe and I had our DNA tests done with Ancestry. He is pure Slav and I am pure Celt ( Viking ). I was very interested to know because since my parents both died when I was five I didn't know a lot. My Mother was so dark and my Grandfather also that I was sure there was some Mediterranean blood. We all have dark eyes although my Grandmother was a redhead. She died young too so I don't know her eye colour. I have to say it fascinates me. I am struggling a bit health-wise. Thank heavens for AL and the lovely members and PSP.

Sorry about your cancellation, Margie. At least I don't have to have that test anymore. They want to do it every ten years if normal, and I had two of them, both normal and over 80 they don't do it anymore. So the next one would have been over 80. What is it, they don't care anymore if you are over 80 and you come down with something? I hate these phone Dr. Appt. My husband sees a psychiatrist, has been under their care since about 1986 for depression. So the phone starts ringing this morning around 7 am. Who the he-- is calling at that time of the morning? So around 8 it rings again and it's his psyche. On his calendar he has a regular appt scheduled for Tuesday. So what is this. First of all you can hardly hear the Doc, because I think she is on a speaker phone, plus she has a foreign accent. When he mentions his appt was for Tuesday, she says. oh I'm sorry if no one told you about the change. Great way to start with a psyche right?
Well I guess I'm still fuming about it wo I went to the VA site that he is enrolled in and send a message to the dept, venting about these phone appt! Virtual is bad enough, but a phone appt for a psyhe patient??? hurmph!

Sounds like all the health issues are well under control and I truly hope it continues.
My LIFE? OMG, what a mess. lol, We finally got moved into the new house on Monday the 31st. Don't have too much storage space much less cabinets in my little world so yuppers I have one big mess on my hands. I have wall to wall boxes and junk and still do even after unpacking quite a few of them. I am having to go item by item in every one to see what goes and what stays. And my daughter keeps hounding me.... downsize, downsize Mom. There is only one of you to worry about now. You don't need this, you don't need that. I may get done this time next year...
My son and his wife bought me a new couch that has electric recliners on both ends. It was delivered yesterday and I love it. They also bought me a microwave that does everything but eat... It microwaves, it bakes, it broils, it toasts,it air frys. I had to get a two-burner hot plate because there is no stove. And my refrigerator is in my living room. haha. The over the counter and sink area has no cabinets yet. They have been ordered. But even then they won't be very big. They will be pint-size so I can reach them. lol
Had a bit of time this morning before unpacking more boxes and was able to get my WWO finished finally. Felt bad not getting it done sooner. Couldn't be helped but finally got it done.
