Good morning in November! I said hello and posted a couple of stories yesterday and didn't think at all about it being the end of the thread and everybody moving their chairs to another room this morning. Too funny!
Cold weather arrived. It's time for us to put up our plastic porch enclosure and dig a drainage ditch we have been putting off. It's not long, but it is tricky; it goes under a sidewalk to keep downspout drainage from icing that concrete in winter at the other house. I will go take pictures today.
~~~~~Waving at all~~~~ feel better Roni!
We got our RVS shots yesterday, no side effects...Yea! Painter is refinishing the wood on our lower living room awning windows, looking lovely. I had coffee with girlfriends Mon and having lunch with a friend on Friday. Thinking of you and your new blouse Silk. Milyn, those were long stories. Glad you are better Roni. Huronna, you are a busy beaver lately with all the prep for upcoming trip and auction.
Just popping in to catch up and see how everyone is, i expect busy with life like i am.. Not enough hours in the day to do everyone it seems these days. I did have a cold/flu bug thankfully not Covid, but took a few days to feel well enough to get back into routine, my sister also had the bug and we both just stayed in bed and lased about.
Well got my lap top out and warming the baby up. I have transferred the folder with my zone auctions stuff and unzipped it. Just pick up the tags for Oct outstanding tags. My word there are a zillion of them. Got my auction bids in before I forgot to do that. I still have to zip up the folder for the 2023 tree and get that on my laptop, so I can work on that off line on the cruise. I think I'll take a break until i upload all those great tags.
Good evening all. Checking in for November. Gee whiz, the holidays are just about here soon enough. Found out what is wrong with my left eye a few weeks ago. We were shocked and surprised to find out I have macular degeneration and will eventually go to my other eye. Still looking for a ride up to Iowa Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City. Have 2 appointments on Dec 20th.
Every couple of days I am turning on my lap top. It has not been used since the end of March and when one doesn't use a pc or laptop, there are lots of updates. It ever takes a while for a favorite page to load since it's memory is not as sharp as when it runs all the time. I alway need it to be in tip top shape when I go on these cruises, since I always like to do some things and I need it to be nice to me when the wifi is nice. Did a bunch of tubing today, with the help of a new AI, background remover program. There is a free one, but that reduces the size and leaves a lot more stuff around., plus you can only do one at a time. So I bit the bullet and paid for a year's script, which can be cancelled at any time. Some things come out perfect, not a stray pixel in sight, others a wee little touch up is needed. some results go directly in the recycle bin LOL things are not resized, so it's easier to work with, no program logo left behind and you can do a batch at the same time. Of course then you have to check each results and add credits etc. It did take be a while to figure it all out, but I think it will save my sanity. May be I'll even look at some of our other FTU artists and see what can be added. Now back to some AD challenges
Oh Margie... I am sorry to hear about your MA diagnoses. Do you know if it is the dry or wet kind? A lot of progress has been made in MA, but it is still a hard thing to have and to wrap your head around. Hoping for the best for you.
Sending good wishes to all!
Hi everyone! How are we all today?
Well, the week for me started out great and then turned into a total crapshow.
I saw my roommate Molly and that was as if no time had even passed. We went to the SPAM Museum and I learned my former boss is a wench, but I knew that which was why I had quit to begin with ha ha ha. I love Molly to pieces! Molly pointed out that my ex boss is not a smile-with-your-eyes person. It's nice to have a bestie back you up.
Then I got my permanent crown and that went way better than I ever expected.
Work has been going great, but a couple of days ago I struggled so I hope I do better tomorrow. Running the register is hard.
A friend's dog passed away today so we are all sad. Pets are family.
We all also found out yesterday that a classmate was murdered. I was friends with Karen in junior high, but when we got to high school we grew apart. She got married right out of high school. I saw her when we were 21-22 years old and she was miserable. She hated her life. She hated being married. I never kept in touch with her, and as the years slipped by I heard snippets now and then about how her husband was a jerk to her. She moved around with him a lot. She finally left him and moved to Lake Mills, IA. They were separated and living apart. She was found dead last week. Her husband Roger fled to Minnesota and was caught just over the border in a town called Albert Lea. He was sent back to Hancock County, IA where he will be tried on 1st Degree Murder. Love and prayers to Karen's family. This has broken my heart. I know he will be judged in court, and he will ultimately have to answer to a higher Judge in the end, but I wish it could have had a different outcome for Karen, I surely do. When I got my divorce it was like a get out of jail free card. Yes, I was sad for a minute, but I got over it. I had the summer and year of my life that first year I was single. I had a ball. And every year on October 25 (the day my divorce was final) I celebrate Guindependence Day. I will never take being safe and warm and loved for granted.
Karen is the second of our classmates to die at the hands of a violent spouse. Another woman named Ann died when we were in our 20's.
Oh my Grassy, that is so sad. I've never lost anyone via violence , it must really tear your heart out. Peace be with her family and friends.
Her kids would be in their late-30s. She ran with the church kids so I assume they would have tried for a family. I know she had a little brother name Butch.
Good Morning everyone, Not feeling great this weekend, Spent time with my son for some Mum/Son Speciality session yesterday, I felt blah, but pushed through obviously for his sake, had some memory laughs when I found some old musical cds that he loved and we’d use for car trips, including songs from The Wiggles, Blues Clues, Bear In The Big Blue House, Little People, Bananas In Pyjamas, lol… all fun sing along stuff…. He was dying, and couldn’t believe he loved them, we put one in the cd player and he instinctively started singing knowing the words, it was funny stuff lol
Roni I hope you feel better soon, the flu is always horrible to have especially in the colder months around the holidays. Margie I hope your MA is taken care of well by your Doctors, Optometrists, and it’s contained, my mum had MA and sadly she passed away before the MA was a real problem, but I know if they catch it early enough it helps, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Grassy, that is incredibly horrifying, I’m so sad for her family, you and her other friends, what a tragedy. Silk I hope you are feeling back “on” soon, you are amazing. Clyde your friend sounds perfect, lol I am still laughing about the m and m’s Huronna, that laptop is crying in the depths of its bios but super excited in the hardrive, it will be ready to go whenever you are.. Tilly I’m glad you are feeling better, and thank goodness it wasn’t Covid… Mary, hopefully all that PC tinkering will pay off, Bubs lovely to see you pop in, you should pop in more often Smilyn hopefully the drain digging isn’t to harsh, and the porch cover goes up without any problems.. good luck with it,
If I missed anyone, I’m sorry… Have a wonderful safe healthy weekend everyone.. xoxo
Dee, you are like a breath of sunshine even though you feel bad. I hope that passes soon. Nothing like some one on one time with one's child. Grassy, that is so terribly sad and happens way too often. Roni, be well soon. Huronna that sounds interesting. Looking forward to seeing the results. To all I've missed, my best wishes.
Silk I'm working on our group permissions. After first getting a permission and doing a bunch, I basicatly only save their new stuff and rarely did any more. I did Andrew McIntosh and Andy Catling last night and have the ones from CLCanady arts ready to look at. As I do a bunch I make not in the tube thread at angels. 22 days before the cruise and I'm ready for a get away, laptop is getting rid of it's dust and starting to move along nicely
Dee; thank you for your good wishes. I have not gotten to either job yet, but I should have. I hope you feel better.
Silk, I hope you feel better too. I did not know the eye loss was MA. You do amazing things with your remaining eye.
Grassy; that is a horrible thing; I'm sorry. Working with friends in the USAF thrift shop years ago the police came for one of my friends and took her to the office to inform her of the death of her 25 yr old daughter; shot at work by the boyfriend she had broken up with and placed a restraining order on. He then killed himself. I will never forget that horrible time where we all tried to help and give space to the woman whose only daughter was so horribly gone. I'm sorry about your friends dog too. pets are indeed family. I'm glad you got to see your friend.
I am not well. I haven't been for some time. Frankly, I am in dark places mentally and emotionally. Looking at happier memories makes me nostalgic and then causes feelings of failure. I am overwhelmed with things to do with none to help and no easy answers. I am exhausted, drained, in pain, doing all the things I am supposed to do to feel better and dragging myself through my days.
I apologize. My mother had a saying: "she entered the room like a bad smell." I guess that's me. I don't come here because I know you all are carrying your own loads much more stoically than I am and I feel ashamed that I am not doing better. But I often think of you and I truly do wish you all well.
I believe it’s actually ABBA singing ABBA, but I could be wrong, either way, it brought back many memory’s of 2 - 7 year old girls with hairbrushes for mics back to back singing money, money money, like abba did in their video lol….ahhh the abba memories, I know we all have at least one.
Well it was driving me crazy so I had to google and you know "google is my friend" Are ABBA singing live at ABBA Voyage? ABBA Voyage is a virtual concert residency by the Swedish pop group ABBA. The concerts feature virtual avatars (dubbed 'ABBAtars'), depicting the group as they appeared in 1979, and utilise the songs' originally-recorded vocals accompanied by a live instrumental band on stage.
Who sings which songs on ABBA Voyage? ABBA Anni-Frid Lyngstad – vocals (lead vocals on tracks 1, 8 and 9) Agnetha Fältskog – vocals (lead vocals on tracks 4, 6 and 7) Björn Ulvaeus – guitar, background vocals, co-producer, lyricist. Benny Andersson – vocals, piano, synthesizer, arrangements, mixing, producer.
Now we know the rest of the story
