It seems Huronna lost power last night. Betting on her prep and circumstances, but praying for all in the hard hit areas - especially from tornado activity.Grateful the cat dropped and the flooding was not as bad as feared. There's a lot of help on the scene already, so hopefully underground power restored soon and we'll hear from our fearless leader

She posted on FB! They and their house are ok. The yard is full of branches, power off, and her phone is low, but they are prepared and ok. Yay!

Even though I have lived through many a hurricane while living in Puerto Rico, I think being 35 years older now it really has affected me. I haven't really slept in 3 nights. Wed, wondering what is going to occur and listening to the howling of the winds all night, plus my neighbors fence kept making the most eerie sounds as it was getting ready to fall down. Thur, still in sort of shock and not knowing how the situation was going to last, You really have no idea what it's like all of a sudden not to have contact with the outside world. What did we do before cell phones and internet. We had phone service and snail mail and that was it. How were we ever going to clean all this mess up. Thank heavens we not only have great neighbors, they checked on us, one raked up all the yard debris in the font yard and put it in piles, so that when Our regular guys came at least the front would be easier for them, because the backyard was a disaster. Another came by about 3 in the afternoon worried because I had not answered any of her texts, when I told her my phone had no power, she took it home with her and charged it and brought it back later that night. Then on Friday our lawn guys, who normally come on Mondays ( and would have cleaned up) arrived early afternoon and spend the rest of the afternoon hauling branches and limbs and all kinds of vegetative debris to the curb. Our spa is black, I guess with all the dirt that Milton picked up and threw through out cage screen, but the pool service just showed up as I'm typing. We were lucky as we actually did not loose anything in the freezer, when the kitchen floor started getting wet, I had no idea what it was, then realized that the ice in the bin was melting and coming out the shute. Do we too the ice bin out and emptied the ice into a cooler. So then we did actually have some ice, but other then that we kept the freezer shut. We did go in the refrigerator side twice a day and that was it. And the refrigerator and freezer in the garage, we never did open at all. Surprisingly, my blood pressure stayed pretty normal, it was my heart rate that was racing at times. We still have one big thing to deal with and that is a tree on my neighbors property, but is leaning over onto ours. It's a really big one. Over the years we have had tree people come and trip the overlying branches, but this time it may mean the entire tree. Well that's the update for now.

So great to have such good neighbors and workers! Yes, those large trees can be dangerous. I hope it comes down sooner than later. My husband is a "tree" guy and has advised many to cut down trees in jeopardy.
Family is Asheville are still without water but have electricity. The water issue there is horrible and they have no idea when it will be restored, it's complex and the city is working on it. At least her parents have water, 30 min south of them.
A friend is coming over today to help me repot my Mom's Aloe Vera plant, it's huge. My hip is killing me, Voltaren helps but only lasts 4 hrs.

We feel bad here with what has happened, in fact I drove my little neighborhood this afternnoon and I was not aware that one of the homes, a two story had a tree go right into it . The people and animals were ok and a neighbor that didn't even know them took them in for the rest of the storm. Ashville is a disaster, so very sad. So many things destroyed. I don't know what is worse, no water or no electric.

Spent the morning with Joe in the VA Emergency Room, no dire emergency, but yesterday he fell and started aching all over so he wanted to have thing checked out. Nothing broken, except his pride I guess, give a shot for pain, some steroid meds (the old reliable prednisone) and Motrin, and a few needed lectures from the doc which he has head numerous time from me, but seems that doesn't count. Now I'm dealing with trying to get someone to cut down a big tree in the back yard. but these guys are still dealing with the real emergencies. Thankfully, ours is not that bad.

I was doing really good on my diet and I was supposed to have my last weigh-in on Thursday. And there went the diet, so I called today to get in and see how bad i Was during those few days and get back on track. Then I will be going to the gym as that has been lax also. I feel like a real slug.
I had to visit my dentist last monday, seems I must have eaten something sharp and it cut underneath one of my permanent bridges. Unable to get it out it started to get a slight infection, like gingivitis . I was put on antibiotics and told to get a waterpik as that would be a good way to clean out under the bridge, because floss was impossible to get under it. Been faithful with that all week, except for Thursday and it's feeling much better, and the swelling has gone down. Hope it stays that way.
Well I best get ready for my adventures

If it's not one thing it's another. My gold crown came off just before we left for Wht Mtns, has a hole in it. Don't know how old it is. I soaked it in hydrogen peroxide and rinsed my mouth in same and put it back on. Bought some poligrip and it did come off again, so repeated the steralization process and put a dab on the poligrip on it. It's been good, no pain and the hydrogen peroxide did not fizz so I know there is no bacteria. Good luck w/yours.
I hope you get that tree down. Some friends had neighbors with a HUGE tree that was dying, not good. It was on the property of a guy who did not respond to neighbors who were concerned. They had to go to the city and report it, they in turn contacted him and it was taken down. Had it fallen, it would have crushed their house.

I'm having a bear of a time getting anyone to even look at the tree, the answers are all the same.....at the moment we are dealing with emergencies, trees on houses, in houses, on cars, blocking the roads. was told to contact again the first week of Nov. I sure hope there is nothing else coming..
Just spend all day trying to find someone, no mojo, will try and send the WWO first thing in the AM

Great!!! What a relief. Big news here. I am having outpatient hip replacement surgery here in Flagstaff on Nov 27. Doc is a young hip specialist who has already surpassed 1,000 hip surgeries. My friend and some others who have had surgery w/him are very happy and like him alot. We reviewed my X-Rays yesterday. It's bone on bone w/bone spurs developing. The sooner the better. My pelvis is slanted a couple millimeters and w/loss of cartiledge my right leg [the one needing the hip replacement] is shorter. He can adjust a bit if needed but is cautious about that because he doesn't want to risk the new hip dislocating. The pre surgery X-rays that will be more precise will be the guide. I am relieved and can't wait.

Hi Everyone! I just read all the news. What happened with the tree Huronna or is that tomorrow and not today? How is Joe? Flagryl, that is wonderful news about the hip - I mean, not happy that you have to have surgery, but that you can get it done quickly. Not too much is happening here. Fall seems to have come overnight. There will be a few temperatures in the 70's, maybe one or two 80's, but with the leaves falling and the pumpkins coming out, it won't be long before it snows.

Hi everyone, just in the door catching up and requesting tags in the wwo. some great designs i have missed loads. Busy here and there , car has an MOT coming up so saving for that, hope it doesn't cost much. Started swimming on a friday at my cousin pool, which has been nice and good exercise, i like swimming, its a small private pool so just me and my sister. A few of my friends also use his pool on other days. I have osteoarthritis and just lately my right wrist has really been giving me a lot of pain, i have bought myself a copper infused wrist support, it does help when i wear it so i use it all day and then take it off at night. I may end up wearing it all night as well but so far so good.
Hugs to everyone and enjoy the rest of your weeknd.
