Today was a busy day for us.
Well took a drive to Sarasota to check out a place that are friends are renting for the month of Feb. For the past 2 years they have stayed at our house as we were off on a cruise. I can remember visiting them in 4 other places years before. Always simple, but nice neighborhoods, pretty close to beaches and clean. But this time I don't understand it. I googled the address she sent me and it looks like it is really run down. In fact the photo of the back of the house had a door that was off the hinges and leaning on the wall. Maybe the rental people had better photos but the ones on good are really terrible. Since they don't see the places , only photos on line, things could be deceiving.
One time the place they rented was filthy, they had forgotten to get the cleaning crew in before the new tenants, but that was soon taken care of. It's going to be a long day since Joe's sister is up in PA and we can't stop in there, and our other friends are in England. We'll probably stop for early dinner on the way home at one of the places we meet his sister at when she is here.
we took the trip to check on the place our friends had rented for Feb and were pleasantly surprised. First the house has recently been painted. There was a truck in the driveway that said something about remodeling. Hmmm.....So Brave little me (I had left Joe in the car) I knocked on the door, and pleasantly greeted him asking him if he was the remodeling the house. He said no, he was renting it. (Nosey me) I asked him how long he was renting for. Why, he asked. I said my friends has rented it for Feb and I had seen the photos in the web of what the place looked like and said I would try and check it out. He said he was only there for a while and was moving to GA. I asked if it was possible to see the inside and he graciously let me in. I was actually quite lovely. Furnished nicely and the purple walls were now white and the pink bathroom fixtures had been replaced with modern white ones. I thanked him and we left and we drove home. I called my friends and they couldn't believe that not only did we make the 2 hour trip but actually had a tour of the place and were please with it. Now I can breathe a sign of relief.
After the excitement of the RNC Convention and then the WNBA all stars playing and winning last night, we are definitely looking forward to the Olympics starting this Friday.
