Simone Biles and Catlin Clark are both from my hometown Des Moines, Iowa. Their families now reside in West Des Moines, a suburb. I just held my breath watching the USA Gymnastics team, wonderful. Perhaps Clark will get her turn in 4 years on the WNBA team.

I know we really don't discuss politics here, but I think all of your have probably heard of these two men during the past few years. ALl morning I have been watching the updates and progress and finally....
Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan were released from Russian custody Thursday as part of the biggest prisoner exchange between Washington, Moscow and four other governments since the Cold War.
The exchange of 24 prisoners follows months of negotiations and marks a rare moment of cooperation between Russia and its geopolitical adversaries in the West after more than two years of Russia's war in Ukraine. The prisoner swap involves the release of 16 individuals previously detained in Russia in exchange for eight individuals held in the U.S., Germany, Norway, Slovenia and Poland.

The exchange is huge. I'm better. Hard day at PT yesterday. Bad news. My step-son and grandson will not be coming next week, my dil came down with covid. Good news is they are coming later this month, yea! Had to send John's hearing aids in for repair, won't get them back til end of Aug. So communication is challenging. He had appt w/gastro doc about whether to do one last colonoscopy, John turns 81 this fall. Doc thinks he's healthy enough and therefore a good idea. I heartily agree. He had a large polyp removed 5 years ago and the removal/biopsies caused some issues, but all is well now. His father had colon cancer, so I think it's wise to be pro-active.
