Huronna, am I going to have to go find the wet noodle or send you to the naughty room? I'll send you to one of the best ones, I promise. LOL
Well, we went from 95° yesterday to 61° today and the rest of the week. A cold front from Canaada passed through last night and brought terrible storms and egg sized hail. Thank goodness the worst of the hail missed the West side of town. Most of that was east of I-29, but we did get smaller hail and about 2 1/4" of rain.
Sadly, some of our businesses here in town are not able to re-open and are closing permanently. They have either lost their leases on rented buildings or can't pay their creditors, or maybe both. Business is bad all over it seems and if we get a second wave of this as is predicted by the head of the CDC I am afraid what else will happen.
I just stay in and watch the many birds that are coming to feed and keep busy with my reading and textile work.
I am reading a mystery right now by Victoria Thompson, "City of Scoundrels". It's a good book. I am enjoying it. I love reading the books in a series. It's like being able to visit another family to me.
Well, I hope everyone has a great day, wherever you are. Stay safe!

Ooooooo Huronna! Are you going to the Air Force Convention in Vegas? I hear those are always a great time! When I worked for DLA, I used to take reservations for that October even, so I wondered if it was the same? I hope the cruise industry can make a comeback. I have never been on a cruise. I want to go on one some day.
I understand about overtraining too. I have been trying to regain some strength on my left side. I thought doing pushups would expedite the process. I ended up getting a pleurisy. It's always something. Do be careful.
Not much is going on here. I watched a super fantastic movie called Dumplin'. It is the feel good movie of the time!
We're supposed to get storms and a lot of rain. Phooey. I am over storms.
Anita we've lost businesses too. It's sad. We're trying to re-open. My mother's county is a hotspot and it has even gotten national attention because of the high number of cases. It's weird how she is just 13 miles from me and my county is not having cases.

Huronna if I traveled I would travel to Las Vegas to get a lunch with you. We only live 4 1/2 hours away. But I can't travel that far. Darn it!
Busy day and I am worn out. We to see lung doctor. I've already answered this question so many times... so I am just copy and pasting to you since I already answered the outcome to other people...
Well... it didn't go as I wanted it to. This lung doctor keeps telling me I don't have asthma...so he keeps running test after test. And he doesn't find anything that he's looking for. Today I had another pulmonary function test and he said it looks good. Finally after all the blood work, PF test, CScan, and x-ray... he said. You have severe asthma. So... there ya go.
He made a little change in my medication and that was it. A wasted long trip as far as I am concerned. Not to mention he gave me a prescription that cost $250 a month. I told the pharmacist to put it back on the shelf. I can't afford that. The pharmacist helped out and figured out how I can get it and Medicare will pay. So i called the doc and told him and he changed from an inhaler to a nebulizer medication. Now i can have it for free. Thank the Lord.
That's it for me for tonight... just to tired. Have a blessed night.

Oh Angel, what you've been through. Goodness. Rest up. I hope you are doing well Huronna, no more overdoing it or Anita will put you in a special naughty room. Anita, I shutter to think of the small businesses here that are disappearing. Governor just gave mayors authority to require masks in public and she's got our city attorney working on it. That' all our poor police need is this enforcement job, but our numbers are going up expotentially. Hospital ICU is full and they are having a hard time finding people who will do the cleaning in the hospital. Nobody wants to go near the hospital.
PT killed me today. I had to have her work on my shoulder, the one operated on in 2015 and full of arthritis. It's inflammed, maybe from sleeping on it because the allergy drops caused tinnitus of my left ear and the only way I could sleep was on my left side, bad shoulder. Diluted drops now, no tinnitus. Go figure. She grastoned it and taped me up. Left leg is better, we'll deal with it next week. Talked to my dear friend Rosemary who also had lumbar surgery, and she said recovery is never in a straight line. #truth

Good evening everyone...Angel, what an ordeal for you only to be told what you knew...you have Asthma. I hope you feel much better. Flagryl, you too are having a difficult time. I wish for better days for you. Huronna, I hope you're behaving yourself and not over doing things. I had my feet done today...what a relief. I've been limping round painfully for weeks. He gave me a little cushion type thing that slides on a toe and lifts the two that are causing the pain; because of arthritis. Anita I had a new lot of books delivered today and they include some good thrillers and who dunits. Your weather sounds awful. I always feel such a wimp when I say its' cold here at 16 C . How would I deal with yours. One wonders if the world economy will ever recover. My son Julien told me that online business has been very good but I know some businesses have folded. Heart breaking.

Flagryl, are you anywhere near the fires in AZ?

Post by Flagryl on Jun 19, 2020 9:12:12 GMT -5
Oh Silk, I hope the adjustment for your toes works. I agree the online businesses are probably doing much better. Some of our small businesses here are turning to online, if they can.
Mary, no we are not near the big fires here. The Mangum fire is buring north of Grand Canyon's North Rim and the Bush fire down near PHX. I have a friend who has property near Punkin Center where her dau lives and it's really causing havoc. Evacuations. A woman in my book club and her husband just returned from camping within view of the Mangum and sent a pic, it's huge. Been dry and I do fear fires.

I've been lax coming here, but have been trying to limit my computer time. Angel, I think I would have just about thrown something at the wall with that Doc. All those tests only to come up with the same diagnosis you have already had for years. They probably changed the script to something generic also. That makes a BIG difference in the $$ it costs.
Flagryl, when ever I read what you are going though I feel guilty even complaining. I can't imagine having to deal with so many things.
SIlk, you just reminded me, I needed to try and make a pedicure appt. My girl was PG and due the beginning of May, so not sure if she is back to work or not. I really liked her, so I will await her return.
Now about the knee, well there still is quite a bit of pain and from reading the pain is where it is supposed to be (hmmm) and full recovery is from 4-6 weeks. I guess I will just have to deal with it. Been on the puter for about 2 hours now, I think it's time for me to get off for a while.
I have been reading about so many areas being hit harder than we have here. It seems that there are 55 employee cases of COVID19 at TGH where I worked, but only two were actually contracted in the hospital. The mayor of Tampa has order that face masks are mandatory at 5 PM today. But we are in Brandon, so that doesn't effect us. Though we rarely go anywhere.
OK will be back much later

Funny how little things can bring such joy now a days. I can feel your smile. Now for me today was the big shower day and not to worry about getting water on my knee. Oh it was wonderful. Of course I just out on another set of lounging pj’s. And then I put my jewelry back on. Had only been wearing my wedding band. Also did my nails. So I’m a new person! Of course I still have a lot of pain, but dealing with that. Now it’s movie time

I am going to spoil myself tomorrow, a mani and a facial. I need to keep my cosmetologist in business, doing what I can. I'm sorry you still have pain Huronna but a full shower and mani will perk you up.
Haircut last week did not turn out well, too short. I have curly and wavy hair and she cut it too short. I don't like long hair, that's just convenient. But, now it needs to grow.
I'm catching all kinds of brown moths in my traps but no yellow jackets and haven't seen any. Yea!

Good for you Flagrly facial and a mani. Every woman deserves that. Yesterday I got 2 Reader's Digest magazine in the mail. Got a good deal on a yearly subscription from them. I remember when my folks would order that for us at Christmas time. I wished I would have kept them all but that's life. Huronna I'm sure glad you got to take a shower and not worry about getting water on your knee. Got rain here yesterday and this morning with more on the way and it's warm here to.

Yay indeed Grassy !!! Glad for you. Flagryl...it won't take long for your hair to grow.I have mine very short and a bit spikey. I feel like a modern girl...it's easy for me to manage since I can't get my right arm to reach. A mani for you too...lovely. Huronna...what luxury...a shower. Lounge pyjamas; that made me smile because I have a pyjama fetish and am always buying just one more set of the lounge type. Margie...I love the word quizz when I ever happen so see a readers Digest. They published once the best bird book I have. Enjoy the day.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am much better. Am able to go some time and not wear the SI belt but I do wear it when I sit at the computer or exercise. Margie, my Mom used to take Reader's Digest and loved it. Baked a Lemon Meringue pie for Father's Day. It was the first time I ruined the meringue. The neighbor's egg shells are so hard that one punctured the yolk. First time ever. All it takes is a tiny drop of oil to ruin a meringue. Tasted great but it was flatter than usual. I had even rewashed the glass bowl I use and rinsed it well and hand dried it!!! I'll have to remember to be more careful.
It's warmer here, mid 80s. Biggest neighborhood news is our neighbors who give us the eggs have lost their bearded dragon Penny, their 4 yr old girl's pet. Too many Hawks around here so it's troublesome. I'm checking my bird baths.
My Book Club is zooming for the first time tomorrow morning. Took one of our members some time to change the privacy settings on her computer so she could zoom.
Letting my short hair go curly. Easier. Gets fuzzy here in this dryness so I have to use a product but at least I have options.

Hello to all, I have read all of this thread and I have one thing to say today, Please if you pray or think good thoughts as today is my first MRI in a year... I am so afraid of what they might find, as I did not get treatments in Texas... Please stay safe and do your best, as we do not know what the new normal really is... Hugz

Roni, sending lots of prayers your way for good results. Just keep good thoughts in your head and please let us know when you hear.
The new normal - Ugh! I dont want a new one, but who knows if life will ever be the same again. Rising numbers here and I dont go out. Haven't seen another human, except Grandkids and my daughter, in 5 months. 😢
Weather is nice and mild. Low 70's with partly sunny skies. Summers are great here, but I dread winters. Maybe I should think about being a part timer. I would have the best of both worlds. With my family in the summer and the mountains in winter. Hmmmm.......

Prayer Roni. Let us know how you do.
Flagryl glad you are doing better.
I'm doing okay. Did a little more work on my crown molding. I am doing it myself, so I can only do a little bit at a time. I think I started about 4 or 5 months ago. Maybe by the end of the year it will be finished. LOL

Holding you in my prayers Roni. Glad everyone is feeling a bit better, me too. I actually drove today too get my pedicure, of course she is only around the corner LOL We had a blocked toilet last night, too much TP and not enough flushes. Hubby couldn't find the plunger, I knew we had one, but he moves things and then can't find them, so off to ACE hardware he went to get one. Didn't fix the problem, I'm googling and said....this is this type they suggest, so he goes out again, that still doesn't work. So he's on the phone with the plumber ($$$$) he couldn't come until today, so I googled yet again...."what do you do with a clogged toilet when the plunger doesn't work"....use the other bathroom and over night the gravity will take care of the clog. Joe laughed at me, but let it be. He had to call the plumber this morning to cancel the work order.....toilet was working....thank you google

Too funny Huronna, glad it's okay now. I had another friend pass away. Guy who grew up in our working-class neighborhood. Then in early 80s dove off a dock and ruined his spinal cord. He's been in a wheel chair since then and lucky to be alive. We've been pen pals for ages. Amazing person, large hospital CEO and genuine nice guy. Great family. He was so good looking, all the girls were crazy about him. Including me.

Yup Huronna. Been there, done that. Youngest grandson could use half a roll in one go I think. We plunged till we were tired out. I just let it go the rest of the day and night. Next day....running well.
I am glad you are feeling better. But don't overdo that driving.
