Looks like it's going to be here tomorrow afternoon. Right on the central Florida coast. We're as prepared as we can be. If we loose power I won't be able to post here. I'll check in as often as possible.

And I fly out tomorrow, early I'll be checking in at the airport, as usual and then again when I get to Pittsburgh Betsy and others on the eastern seaboard, please stay safe, it's been a while since one has come this way. THe sky is turning a dark color and so we may be getting the rain pretty soon

Computers are showing it will travel up to SC and on Monday they predict it could turn around and head back to Florida. That is a possibility because we have a "high pressure" system put here pushing East and South which will affect it. I wish it would just go on out into the ocean and be gone, but not this time.
Just be very safe and I will pray for it to be quick, although it is a slow moving storm.

They just said the storm is 450 miles away yet, but the rain bands are far ahead of the eye. Nightfall doesn't happen this early Biker. lol
Be safe everyone

Thinking of you all and praying for your safety! Buckle down the hatches ladies, don't want any surprise disappearances. I am so glad we don't often get really extreme weather like you all do! I couldn't cope with the stress of it all, so hats off to you! xxx

Not even a drop of rain so far, but of course in 1989 with Hugo, we were all sitting in the coffee shop that morning laughing about how nice the weather was.......until about seven at night when all h e l l. Started to break loose.
I don't think it will effect the Tampa area much, but for those on the easy coast, please take precautions

I got a couple of drops of rain this AM - and the air is now stirring a bit (not wind)
The dilemma of this AM was whether or not to put the trash out for collection.
The dither was that one of the water bottles sprung a leak.
If that's the worst I have to deal with in the next 36 hours -- I will consider myself lucky.

Yeah, Betsy.
I know we will. I've been watching closely.
I'm a mod in a weather chat, and several of my NHC buddies popped in to see if I had my act together. LOL I should have typed up a supply checklist and sent it to them.
One of my buddies is in the Bahamas and in the middle of the ____-storm now.
It's just exhausting.

Seriously though, take care!!! Update when able, I will worry! xxx

Starting to rain and blow a bit on the Treasure Coast. Local mets are calling for the outer bands and 40 mph winds reaching us at about noon.
Then things go downhill for several hours.

There is only one direction to go. North. And that's no help because that's the way 1/2 of the peninsula folks have to go.
I am in my little fortress...
