Spent the afternoon in our daughters boyfriends ice shack...sorry to say that we only caught one fish! Guess they just weren't around today. My feet were freezing just from walking to the shack from our truck so had to take my boots off to warm my toes by the fire. We left as soon as the sun went down. Thats my daughter and my hubby in the shack. (notice she isn't holding her rod...shes vegan and refuses to reel in a fish) Hope everyone had a good day!

Nice looking ice shack. I, for sure, am not showing it to my hubby. Although, I think his ice fishing days are past.
I like your avatar.

Yeah, the only time I would go fishing in this weather is in a heated shack. Supposed to be a windchill of -43 tomorrow morning. I might not be around tomorrow either...taking my poor, old computer in to have more RAM installed....I sure hope it speeds things up. Nervous about taking it in since its never been anywhere before...hahahaha! If you don't hear from me again then you know it reacted badly to being moved around!

That's awesome Carol. I would love to do something like that....only I'm afraid to walk out on ice because when I was younger I fell through the ice on a lake and almost died. But, I love to fish.

Oh, you wouldn't have to worry about that up here in winter....we drive our trucks onto the river and lakes. In fact alot of the communities up here depend on the 'winter roads' to get supplies in and out and to go visit. In the summer they have to wait for either a train or plane. But I sure can understand that fear. I get a little nervous during spring when you have to put a long board down or jump far to avoid the open patches to get onto the ice. We call it 'honeycomb' ice. And ice fishing on the big lakes is cool, you can sometimes hear the ice moving where it jams up and heaves.

Oh, my...takes me back. I used to go ice fishing with my family when visiting friends in N. Minnesota. It was NOT a heated shack [!]. This looks to be very luxurious. I love fish, love to eat 'em, love to catch 'em. I'd say it looks like a 3 beer-fish to me!

Nice shack Carol...I used to go ice fishing all the time...we lived on the lake and I'd go out with my neighbour on the snowmachines. I'm not real crazy about eating fish but hubby is, so I'd catch them and he'd eat them lol...then it got to the point when I wondered why I was out there freezing my butt off..it was fun though hearing a bell start to jingle or seeing that rod go down...some days though hubby would have to warm my hands up by the time I got home....

That is soooooooooooooo cool. I've never been ice fishing, but we used to fish a lot when we lived in Panama. And I love to eat fish, too.

Now that looks cold, brrr! Looks cosy inside with that fire, though! And looks like fun, too I'd love to have a go! When does the ice finish thawing? Great photos! Mandy :Dx

Awesome pics! I am from Austin, MN and I remember all those warnings they always gave out about get your icehouse off the lakes and rivers by X date and don't drive out on the ice after such and such a date. I love Minnesota! It doesn't get much more beautiful than that! Especially up in the Arrowhead and the Boundary Waters.

What a cozy looking little shack Carol. As much as I love the snow and the cold, even that looks too cold for me. lol Love to fish, but not enough to freeze my patootee off.
