Welcome back Roni.. Glad to see you back, the fire is on pull up a chair and rest and catch up, thats what i do most of the time..
Just popping in to say a quick hi, supposed to be on a coach trip today but my sister didn't feel well with a stomach ache so i phoned and cancelled going.. Relaxing today watching tv, catching up on ordering presents and spending to much money as usual but almost done, wrapped everything so just a case of waiting for deliveries to wrap the final bits. 15 days until Susan's advent begins..

Welcome back Roni. Good to see you back here my friend. We sure did miss you. Got to meet my new doctor which is a nurse practitioner and we hit it off right away. Go back on Wed November 20th for blood work and then go back in March of 2025 to see my nurse practitioner again. So had to change my health insurance plan at Atena for next year so I can keep the same clinic and doctor. I hope my blood work goes well on Wed.

Had my blood work done to day. Great draw, first time on one of my tiny veins. I always tell them where it is and not to be afraid , it will give up the blood HA HA Then went to the ortho clinic and after 4 x-rays, and a diagnosis of acute arthritis in my spine, I have an appt tomorrow at a spine specialist. SO another busy day tomorrow. Pedicure, spine specialist and then my trainer and maybe on the way home the casino.....who knows

Welcome to the club, wish you were not a member. My ortho doc calls it disease of small white women, severe arthritis. I honestly don’t understand how our grandmothers survived. Do what you can do before you can’t

got the appt for the MRI to compare to the ones I had 3 years ago. And a follow up appt on Dec 10th, they are talking about injections, that will probably happen then.

Oh dear, yes the injections do work...can buy you some good time. So sorry you are going through this.
I have ECHO test tomorrow, you don't what to know the details how Monday's was cancelled. Saw my Endocrinologist today and he thinks my failing the EKG is a fluke too, as my PC said as well. But it's a legal thing now so they need assurances before surgery.
We went downtown after my appt w/Endo guy and I bought a case of balsamic vinegars, both aged and regular. I love to use them for salad dressings and marinades. We had my last wine dinner tonight because I have to go off NSAIDS 7 days before the surgery, no wine going forward. I'm getting ready regardless!

WHen you have the ECHO I hope she situates you so you can see the screen. When I had mine done a couple of months ago, it was really fascinating. I had to laugh at my final diagnosis......hypertension.... could have told them that. Yesterday was miserable, just could not get comfortable. FInally went to be at 8:30 Even got up at 3 and took more tylenol. I only have a dental cleaning today, and small grocery shopping. Joe will unload the car and carry the bags into the kitchen for me.

Are you using those Lidocaine patches Salopas? They really reduce the inflammation. Do ice packs help or heat?

I had been using heat, but they said Ice packs were better. I plan on getting the lidocaine patches today. I was using lidocream 5% (an old script) but it didn't seem to do anything. Maybe way to old. I have salonpas, but I hate the smell, I should do that right now. One time , before I had my knee arthroscopic I put too many of them on at the same time, and broke out in a rash HA HA, guess I over did it.

My 4% otc salonpas are odorless, yes ice would be my first go to to take down the swelling. Yes, old scripts do not do well...been there.
Had the ECHO by a guy whose been doing them for 17 years and he trains others. Said he got the certification initially because he had an irregular EKG, he does those as well.
I couldn't watch the screen as he does it from the opposite right side, no biggie. She showed me the scan which he said the results should qualify me for surgery, says it looks normal. Said sometimes if there's too much electricity an EKG will come up abnormal. I'm just an electric woman...woo hoo
Now we'll see if the cardiologist can read it and approve me before the nuclear stress test on Friday so I can cancel that test.

Great news. I had a so so day, the salonpas helped as well as tylenol ever few hours. I went to Walgreens on way home from dentist and got their patches which are the same as Salonpas with 4% lidocaine.
