Instead of just doing a disc clean, I chose to clean the system files which got rid of old windows files that I believe were causing some unwanted pathways [like a pile of spaghetti] and slowing PSP, affecting memory and even my browser. I unable to request a few of Huronna's wwos because I got a message saying the request was not accepted by my browser so I couldn't access the page. Well, poo. So when working in PSP and it froze when I was trying to pick a color I thought to myself, self, you need to figure this out.
What had worked in the past was to clear my brower's cache and histoory and then do a disc clean, except it wasn't lasting that long. And, my computer automatically does a defrag. So this time I chose to clean the system files and elected the old windows files, a separate option. Wha la...bingo.
I think what caused all of this in the first place was when Windows Mail upgraded to 11. I had upgraded my computer to 11 a while back, no issues but it didn't automatically upgraded Win Mail since it was separate. Then when it did I had problems w/my email provider working on it so Microsoft helped me get back to Win Mail 10. Worked. Then the grace period lapsed and it automatcally went up to Mail 11. I tried to revert it back but it didn't work. So, I'm guessing all those old files were the cause of my issues. Gotta love the Clean System Files option!!!

Updates on Windows 10 stop October 2025. That is all I have too. And my laptop and my HP All-in-One can neither one be updated to Windows 11. I will need to purchase a new computer.

I bought my Laptop in 2020 and without my telling it, it downloaded Windows 11, but did not install it. Won't do that unless I tell it to, and I'm not going to as long as possible. Maybe by then Windos 14 will be out the way they go with updates HA HA.

I installed win11 about a week ago. My laptop is a hp pavilion and it is 2014 model and is classed as not compatible. I installed using the not compatible work round which transfers all files and folders but you have to install programs. I installed PSP7 (amongst other progs) which works perfectly. If there are problems you can easily return to your win10 with a couple of clicks because it backs up win10 in a folder called "win old"
