Morning news.......Good morning all! I am doing well. My pain is reduced to rotating OTC manageable levels. I am allowed regular food! I haven't seen my surgeon yet, but I am sure I will go home today. The staff have been lovely. I am grateful.
You should see the menu she is holding, I think I would want to stick around just to be waited on LOL

latest update: I am home. I have stripped, measured and emptied my drains. Fancy vest overy surgery bra holds drains and adds support. Armpit gizmos keep me from bagin drains or chafing on high bra edges. Tired! I am in my recliner doing good. Thank you for all you energy and support. Much love to all...

I asked Milyn if they gave her instructions for the vest, her response this morning was.... Oh, boy, do you get instructions. With lots of steps. And you mess them up initially, just like anything else with steps, lol. But pain is a great teacher! I am in pretty good spirits overall. I mourned ahead of time, something most women who have breast amputation don't get to do as the process is generally quicker than I experienced. I expect I will revisit that in future as more is revealed. For now, lighthearted helps. Thank you. Love you.

How wonderful you all are to make this space for me. Thank you so much. I'm glad I found it tonight as I am a bit o=low. We head back up to the Dr tomorrow am for an emergency appt to asses drains, swelling and skin discoloration. Last evening things started going wrong, and I have been fighting to keep the drains dunning (one on each side.) The Dr thinks a clot got dislodged and blocked the drain access at the top on the right after filling the drain with relatively fresh blood (which I didn't know was happening) then bleeding through the drain site and causing the tissues above the incision to turn a bit burgundy and swell; dangerous for the incision. The Left was doing fine - and then it too started to swell, I had to take over manually draining that one too. I'm trying to keep pressure on both breasts to keep the swelling down and protect the incisions from popping. It's scary and I'm tired. Steve will have to drive basically all day tomorrow - unless a procedure like resetting drains or adding another drain is needed and I have to stay over. I guess I will prepare to do that. I'm still in pain, worried, and very tired. I'm really thankful for this space and your good wishes.
I left links for Steve to add messages to and he did a good job. I't try to remind him about that tomorrow in case things get busy for me.
Much love... and HUGS!

I know some of you either don't have Facebook or only follow your "friends" so here is the lates update on Milyn.... Today I want to say thank you. I have received flowers, plants, cards, gifts that are edible or for personal care, pretty things and helpful things. I appreciate them all. Thank you to my loving and supportive community. I have been deeply touched by every caring gesture. Your love has strengthened me. With my drains removed I battle swelling. I am doing even less while I try to keep the incision areas from developing "seromas" (pockets of fluid) or inflammation. I am bound and strapped atm. I have to limit use of my arms. But I have no infection and I am doing well overall. Another week should show real change. In a rare moment of reduced swelling I put on a favorite shirt. Many of you sent me butterflies; I honor them here! Much love to all. I persevere!.
She sounds like she is really handling everything well.

Hello and thank you all for your good wishes and support. Huronna; special appreciation to you for passing on FB updates. I have not been able to post much. Adding to what you shared; the battle with swelling and fluid retention continues. It is bad today and I am in my chest binding again which is painful and itches also, but helps. Perhaps I did too much yesterday, Steve drove me to a hair appointment, I walked into one shop looking for vitamins I need, and we went to a meeting last night making dinner late. I am still dealing with a "stagnant" GI system, which is problematic. The med for that is in opposition to the fluid pill I need to take for swelling, and Ibuprofen may be contributing to the problem. Figuring out what to do for what is tiring. I tire easily. However; I remain infection free, and that is my biggest goal. If I can keep the fluid buildup small I won't have to drive three hours to have the pockets (called Seromas) aspirated. That's my secondary goal. I need to make appointments with the Oncologist, but have been waiting on that for the final pathology test to be in. I also need to schedule PT, have been waiting for them to call me as the dr sent them the referral, but will call them today. They may be able to help with Lymph drainage. I had 5 lymph nodes removed; as evenly split as 5 can be, lol. I don't know which side had three removed. I need to check that. The surgeon told me that I should not have lymphadema issues with that number removed, and my arms are not swelling, so even though I have chest tissue involvement, it seems it is not becoming an overall issue. I try to focus on good things. That's a little hard as my favorite brother is in critical condition in the hospital in BC and reports are skimpy. Steve's son and wife are dealing with some horrific things involving (distant neighbor's) dog attacks on the animals at their sanctuary, and at our house my neighbor's dog died suddenly... Sad things and worrying things I can do nothing about. On the other hand, my Niece got engaged and is very happy. She has bee in a long term relationship where they had bought a house together in lieu of a wedding and never intended to marry. And suddenly that changed and she is happy. That's all that matters. Thankfully the wedding is next year on the 10th anniversary of the house purchase. I should be completely well by then. Actually sooner; my follow up appointment with the surgeon is in August. Steve is doing everything he can and I am being as good as I can. Typing is actually not so good for me to do, the little actions add up, so I don't do that very much. I don't even sit at the PC often. I am here today for a therapy telehealth session and will go lie down soon. Here is the photo I put on FB. I hope it attaches. Crossing fingers about that, and getting well, and leaving HUGS for all with hopes and wishes that you each are doing OK. I'll check the general thread when I can. Love to all... Attachments:
