Clyde, such a trial with the car. Bad timing to boot. Glad you got it fixed and I hope the plastic on your card didn't melt! Margie, so sorry you ended up in the ER, so glad you son was able to help. I hope the meds take care of it. Hi Bubs, great to hear from you.
We are expecting a big snow to keep things bright and white.

My sympathies go out to both Clyde and Margie. Today was a very hot day in Buenas Aires, it was about 92 degrees and not a whisper of a breeze. I just got on wifi for a wee bit, maybe tomorrow when we have no tours (Joe needs to recuperate)I'll get up to date on the photos. I was able to get my challenges up on angels, but that's about it for today.

Margie, I hope you are OK. Yikes! Clyde, yikes as well!
Love and prayers to all my precious Tigerlilies!
I am here. Not much is going on. Still putting my house to right. Never knew so much laundry would be involved. Sid is making us new curtains as he is tired of the old ones.

Morning to all, as we are rocking an rolling this morning. I've never taken a sea sick pill but decided to do that this morning. I think I may be glad I did. Today is a sea day and its going to be a bit difficult to even walk around the ship. glad I have decent wifi, at least it seems that way now

Checking in for February. Seems quite a few of us are having a few 'issues' at the moment. Prayers they are all transitory and fleeting. Don't vomit on the ship, Huronna

Excitement was building this morning as we were nearing the Falkland Island and our first possible viewing of penguins. But the weather was not going to be conducive in the afternoon to get back to the ship using the tenders. The winds would be too high and the waves rough and so the captain making sure the crew and passengers safety his number on concern, had to cancel this stop. So disappointment abounds around the ship today
Vikki, I had hear this cruise might be rough seas, so for the first time ever I actually bought sea sick meds and as a precaution I have been taking one every morning and have not had any symptoms at all.

Well crap.... joe was really went downhill today. Slept all day and when he barely made it to the bathroom he slipped off the toilet to the floor and could not get up. I was not able to get him up and insisted I call call for help. It was obvious that something was really wrong, so when they suggested he go to medical I agreed. He has a temp of 102 and they are running all kinds of tests. Test results, RSV and Flu and pnemo all Neg, but Pos for Covid. He is in quarantine for 5 days, I will stay with him in the room. As some luck would have it the next 6 days are sea days, so anything there is to see we would be able to see from our balcony. I think I'll sleep on the couch

Oh dear me, bless Joe and you...how very disconcerting. Missing the Falklands is one thing but health is the game changer, wishing Joe the very best. Yes, stay with him...

Status this morning, Joe's temp broke during he night, thankfully and it was normal when they did their morning check on him. Here are some mini photos of our suite. You can see the couch area is quite comfy, the only problem was the fog horn going all night as there was total fog all night. Even not at noon, it is really foggy.

Again, I hope you don't get it. We've got a major snowstorm here, got 2 feet on the ground. My 80 yr old husband was out snowblowing last night and most of today. He'll be a tired puppy. Repair guy couldn't get here to replace the heat sensor so I can't even bake him a pie, but we are having spaghetti and meatballs this evening...good carbo load. We could get up to 18 more feet through Friday.
Darn, sure wish we were still skiing, all that gorgeous powder!!! Breaks my heart but brings back fond memories.
Silk is home per Ben. I hope we hear from her after she gets settled.

Just got on line for the first tie in days. ARGH too many rough sea says and even though been taking meds, it's not a great help. This morning there was a big roller and a plate of fruit and one of the water containers, rolled off the counter. Yes it as a mess. Joe has one more day of meds, then then they do a COVID test on me to make sure I'm neg so we can both go out of quarantine. But there are still a few more sea days and missed ports because of the weather. So far all the penguin ports have been cancelled. and one of the Next two are also cancelled, but not sure if its a penguin one or not and if I'll be released in time. I guess I did realized it all depended on the weather, even if Joe had not gotten sick, there were no ports missed because of it, but because of the weather.

wow Huronna! lots of missed ports because of rough seas. Is that normal, routine, sometimes problematic, sometimes not at all? you know how much I know about crusing ZERO... Hope it settles down for yall, no more foods/drinks tossed about and that you both get cleared tomorrow.

Nurse already made her morning temperature check, both still normal. I just have to have a Covid test this afternoon and if I am neg we are FREE. Free to have total room service , but still no ports for the next day or so. There are two different penguin rookeries. I know when the captain was doing his talk last night, one of them will most likely be missed because of the weather. They don’t have any tugs to help ships get in and it there is too much wind, it’s a no go. Yes Vikki all these Antarctica tours are always iffy due to the unpredictable situation of the weather. Now some of the smaller expedition ships are different, but they are in a class of their own and you have to be very agile which we aren’t. You have to get in and out out kyacks and all that rubber type gear and still be able to move.
