Normally we had the auctions every 3 months, which would make it the first week in February. But we are going to have to postpone it until first week in April. Reason is I'm going to be on a cruise (yes another one, while we are still physically able) and it leaves Jan 22 and doesn't return until Feb. 20. You know I always have my laptop but you can't always depend on the wifi being fantastic. The auction is a lot of work for everyone, not only the wonderful members that make the entries but the management behind the scenes. The option is we could have it in March, but We have always had an agreement with the Zone that we would not have the auctions at the same time and theirs is supposed to be in March. So out Next auction will be the first weekend in April. That gives everyone lots of time to get those goodies ready. We will continue to have the silent auctions since they are so much more of a success for the designers. And as usual it will depend on the number of entries, if we have one or two. Any questions? Suggestions? Complaints? Ask them here and we'll try to answer them all. Have a great day and keep on animating.

I'm really happy for the designers who feel silent auctions are so much more of a success; the feeling of being validated for many hours of work is one I completely understand, as I often, even generally, put 20 or 30 hours into a tag.
I felt most successful seeing the proof that more than one person wanted to be the sole owner of something I made; that was the reward for me regardless of the amount. In Silent Auctions I know how much one person bid, but I know from experience that might have been a random number, or part of a "blanket" bid. So I fail to get the knowledge that was rewarding to me. I can look at other Silent Auction winning bids and see how much the person who won my item bid on other items, and there is contrasting information for me there; but only about that one person and possibly the tags are so different there is no comparison at all. I have no idea if anyone else was interested in what I made. I feel detached instead of connected.
To be fair, my "original" designs are not as popular as many others; so bids are generally lower. Even so; I watched the bidding in the Live Auctions quite intently to see where my designs were trending compared to other listed items in an effort to learn, as well as to see who liked my style. I often went back to read the bidding history of sets afterward; mine and others too.
Although I have said something unpopular, I do want to thank you for the auctions and for all the work you do for the groups Huronna. Everyone appreciates you - and your wonderful right hand - Flagryl also.
I have noted the 1st weekend in April. I hope it is an Auction that causes lots of excitement and leaves everyone feeling validated and happy!
