Good Afternoon all
I have not been well with a nasty bug, headache, fever, neck and ear ache, sickness and bouts of nausea, plus aches all over, spent a lot of time in bed sleeping and on and off checking the pc when i felt i could, first day back on the laptop properly yesterday, its taken 5 days and i still have a cough, runny nose and feel worn out but hoping this is nearing the end..
So the Car saga, thanks for asking and yes glad we were not hurt, so the insurance paid out but before i became ill last week the Clutch went on Monday, i took some money out to get a new clutch, my son in law has managed to replace it, temporarily fixed the bumper and boot door for now, paid to have the engine checked over and remapped all to the cost of £650 so i still have a little left from the insurance to get a bumper when one can be found.. Thank goodness for my son in law..
I hope those not well will get better soon and hugs to everyone..

Hugs back to you! I hope you feel better really soon! It seems like the bugs have been so nasty this year.
Nothing new for me. I have been cleaning like a fiend to make up for letting my house go while I was working. The place looks pretty good now, although not company-ready yet.
Went bowling last night. It was fun, but really loud. I am sore today. I guess I am not as young as I used to be ha ha.
How is everyone doing? I hope everyone is OK and happy. Love to all!
It is a big football day in the USA. The Kansas City Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions play the San Francisco 49ers. The winner of each game will advance to the Super Bowl. I want the Lions to win. I don't mind who wins the other game. I am just so happy for the Lions already because they have gone farther than they ever have in franchise History. I would love for the to go to the Super Bowl.

Tilly... I'm glad you are feeling better and hope that bumper is found. It's wonderful to have a handy person around. I well remember the days of hubby replacing clutches regularly. And temporary fixes, lol, brought back memories of the duct tape holding things in place. Best wishes to you!
Grassy; you can't come here. If you are not company ready by now I'm sure I could eat off your floors when you are. My house is never going to be that tidy again, I fear. But I know you will be comfortable3 when it's all shipshape and gleaming. And yes! Bowling is incredibly loud - especially on Saturday night with all lanes blasting. I think you have to have constant exposure to not notice. I used to bowl and last time I went (after a long time) tried to use the 16 pound ball I threw for years. Haha. Had to go significantly lower in order to throw it. And I was sore too. I hope you took some good hot showers and put liniment on everywhere you could reach, and I hope your football fav wins! I wish YOU could go see them in the Super Bowl!
I was at the ER last night after sudden "graffiti" that became silly string with attached balloons and then a web and then big floaters and oily areas in the (not white area) inside of my left eye - and a sudden smashing left side headache stopped me from discussing which suitcases and clothes to take to VT with Steve about 5. All the tests were done and nobody could figure out why that had happened, so I was discharged. to go see an eye dr tomorrow - after the recheck mammogram for my left breast. I have been very tired today.
I hope Huronna is having a good day and Joe is OK. I hope everyone else is well.

Today is a sea day and what a sea day is for? I can relax and don't have to worry about Joe's every step while touring. We have to take his iPad down to the business center as for the life of me I can't get him on line, while I am one line with both my iPad and laptop. I was able to get the photos upload and even get up at WWO, but it sure ain't easy, rocking and rolling. Sorry about that ER visit Milyn, sounds like what happened to me when my BP went crazy , sure hope you are ok
We watched the first game, Grassy, but then had to go to dinner.

I'm so sorry about your car Tilly, terrible stress not to mention inconvenient. Grassy, from one Q of Clean to another, slow down. Broke my heart the Lions lost, they were doing sooooo well. Dear Milyn, you have really been throught the wringer. I do hope it gets sorted as this upcoming trip will be beyond stressful. Breathe. Our mild winter is about to end (high of 54 today!) upcoming snow may drop 10 inches. Ongoing sagas w/house maintenance and some misc. My oven's heat sensor is not working, technician is coming back this Thurs to install new one. Good thing we grill out year round. My bestie's husband died in Ohio Sunday, it's been so hard on her. But, now his intense pain is over. Two older friends are in rehabilitation centers and another is headed in that direction. Colleague from work who was a year younger than I just passed. Big sigh. So, at the women's nau basketball game last Saturday a young boy [3rd grade maybe?] sitting next to me painted a canvas during the half-time event for kids. Upon returning to his seat with his creation, I said with awe in my voice "Did you paint that?" I had noted how the truck of the tree reseambled a Ponderosa Pine with its protruding broken-off branches. He nodded shyly, meer smile. Game went into OT and I quickly left for the restroom. We won! I grabbed my clear plastic tote that had sat on the floor between us and John and I left. Later, when I glanced into the tote, I noted the small canvas painting. Surprise blessings like this reaffirm my belief in the positive energy/synergy and unselfish kindness in this world.

Hi Everyone!
How are you feeling Tilly?
Milyn, I bowl with lighter balls. I brought my own and my own shoes too. I got kitted out way back when I used to bowl on a league. The year I did that (when I was married so you know it was forever ago) I bowled tons better than I did Saturday night. I guess I had the weekly exposure plus loads of practice. I love bowling.
Huronna, how are you? I hope you are enjoying your relaxing day at sea.
Nothing much is happening here. My house is clean enough. Still lots of cat hair. Ha ha. I may never win that battle. Just don't eat off of my floors. I love little Dove Cat so much!

Flagryl, that is so cool about the painting you were given. And it is even cooler because a kid gave it to you.

I'm sorry Flagryl. Those are tough times. But I do love that you were given a tree as a painting in such a lovely way. Trees endure. What a lovely little boy; and quite generously bold. I hope he always has as much fun with his art!
Grassy... I too was fully kitted out. Purple sparkle 16lb ball, shoes, all the extras, even a team shirt and a Hawaiian one for the "fun shirt"days. I was in several leagues. My ball rolled slow and straight and hit like a wrecking ball because of it's mass. I really liked bowling and took some lessons. Then we moved, sick dog, gallery, mom care, and the glittery purple ball ended up in the garden with Steve's blue one. I think Steve threw them out. My shoe soles were all weird in my bag when I founf that; you can't buy good things - it was only 25 years later, lol. I hope you have more fun with it.
I had an interior eye bleed and headache on Saturday eve that took me to the ER as was symptom of retinal detachment. They did an excellent job of rushing me in and testing, but it was only a capillary, TG. Scary though. Then yesterday I found out I will need a needle biopsy of an area of changing trouble in my left breast on the 8th. We get home from VT on the 6th. My Birthday (and Silks) on the 7th. Gonna be a busy start to the month!
I wonder if we could get Birthday flowers delivered to Silk? I would chip in what ever was needed to get her something pretty... Anybody interested?
Off to bed. Very tired today. Been on the run all day. HUGS all!

Flagryl, I am so sorry about your bestie's hubby. I was super bummed about the Lions too. It looked so promising and they just couldn't seem to hold on to it. But they have a young and deep team, so I expect they will be back.
Milyn, I hope your needle guided biopsy goes well. I hope your eye/headache thing is OK too.

sorry for the the accidents and sickness floating around out there.. Hope everyones luck changes.. it must be global..
Had a doctors appointment yesterday for hubby got all set to go and the car wouldn't start ... Deader then a door nail .. couldn't get the other car out as dead car was parked in front of the garage..lovely .. then went to come back in and the door knob fell off.. and the turny thing was inside.. so after a very verbal conversation with the powers that be I used a screw driver to turn the lock .. hubby was NO HELP as he couldn't hear me, had his ear bubs in..gonna burn them suckers! and of couse my cell phone was on kitchen table...
only thing that worked out was my son was heading home so he picked up a new battery popped it in, the car started so we were on time for appointments..AAA was useless too long..
did his appointment which lasted longer then we thought and headed home its a 20 min ride normally but by then it was rush hour so more then an hour later we were home
I promptly fed husband, the dog (she was annoyed it was way past her dinner hour and seeing that I'm "maintenance" and should be here she had an attuide), walked her and went to bed at 7, I wanted to end the day!
Today I'm outta here going out to lunch with the girls and shopping ..I plan on making my debit card smoke, even though I don't need anything!
