Welcome to the family Dee. As you an see my name is Suzie. I am an OLD retired manager here. Don't do too much of anything any more. Won't go into the why's and wherefores. I am originally from the same town Flagryl live in. Beautiful mountain town of Flagstaff Arizona. I was born there and raised there. I raised four children there. So yuppers I am one of the original Natives of Arizona (not the Native American-indigenous type). I now live in a town about 15 miles south of Phoenix called Maricopa with my Daughter and her hubby. I met Huronna many many years ago through our mutual interest in ferrets. Became pretty good friends and the rest is history. haha. Hope you enjoy our family here.

Jello is great, i think I’ve only ever made JellO alcohol shots though lol…. I just got over a virus that put me in hospital, and I literally just started back on solid foods on Friday, Jello saved me until that happened, now I’m eating bread, steamed vegetables and soups but still eating Jello lol, things are slowly getting back to normal, Thankfully.
None of the jello was hurt during the process of healing, it was all eaten slowly, methodically and with joy.

I actually got a death threat over the tray of kitties, some people just have no sense of humor and take some things too literally, I’m glad you liked it Mary.

Hi Suzie, lovely to meet you, I’ve heard of Flagstaff and Maricopa but never been, Ferrets I have never had anyone I’m aware of who owned them as pets until I met Huronna, I never even realized they were pets, lol I guess I had my head in the sand, I saw That guy who use to bring animals onto I think it was the Letterman show with Ferrets and they were super busy, doing things, so inquisitive, I know there was one who kept trying to get into the shirt of the animal care person, Anyhoots, that’s my total knowledge of ferrets, a 10 min spot of some bloke on the Letterman show. Embarrassing really. You guys will have to fill me in on owning them as pets.

Hi Casey lovely to meet you here, one day I will get to Hawaii, it is on my Bucket List, your dog is 16, that’s amazing, I’m looking forward to seeing your busy and learning more about yourself and Hawaii.
Hi Nickel, Lovely to meet you, that’s so kind of you to say, your DA is incredible and I have so much more to see there, my mothers family on both sides were German, I grew up calling my Grandparents Oma and Opa, who both spoke perfect English but argued in German lol, I had no idea what language they spoke it was not talked about, and at 10 years old, at my first boarding school, St Peters Lutheran College I had to pick a language to learn, I chose German, the German teacher passed away 3/4 of the way through the first year and they never replaced her, so everyone learning German had to learn typing instead lol, so weird but that was the 80’s I guess lol… in perspective I can neither type proficiently nor speak fluent German but i know how to make an awesome streusel cake lol…

Hi Silk lovely to meet you, I was born in Dampier W.A. My Mum was born in Wollongong NSW and my Dad was born in Wyong NSW, my Bro and Sis both born in Sydney, I still have family near Gosford and Sydney, I also have family in Canberra and Queanbeyan and my dad lives in Talimba NSW. My sister lives in Brisbane and Bro and some other family live in Melbourne, My dad was in the mining industry so we travelled a lot, not only just in Australia but other parts of the world. I wish I had the talent of music, my dad was a great singer, sadly he never passed that gene on to any of us, my voice it’s not remotely close to being talented, it’s more like oh no she’s going to sing, shot time everyone, so I will sing karaoke and make a fool of myself and not care lol, it’s all in fun. What kind of music are your children/grandchildren doing?

You have lots of family living in Aus. Dee. I am originally from Melbourne but have lived in various parts. I played piano and sang once. I wouldn't like to try now though. My boys play contemporary music. My younger son is the only one whose work it is. He composes for movies, TV etc. Although I hate ( lie ) to brag, he has won a gold and silver lion awards at the Nice festival. You may not have musical talent ( you think ) but you certainly have others and you enjoy karaoke. I lived in Broken Hill for many years which as you know is a mining town. Maybe your dad worked there at some stage.

My Dad has never worked in Broken Hill, but we,ve been there quite a few times. We use to spend the night there every year when we drove from Dampier to Canberra, and took the Broken Hill, Wilcannia Cobar route I think it’s Barrier Hwy, Then Mitchell Hwy to get to Canberra and then travel up to Wyong, which ever rellies we went to first, we always went that way so my dad could stop at Cobar and see his childhood mate, and on the way home we’d go the Wagga Wagga, Hay, Mildura route, the last time I was in Broken Hill was when I drove across Australia: Perth - Canberra, in May 98 before moving here, Oct 98. I do have a lot of extended family, my mum had 6 Brothers who all had kids, and 1 sister, she had 3 Aunts, all had 4 kids, 1 Uncle who had 6 kids, and I still have some of those Great Aunts alive and a lot of cousins and 2nd cousins, I don’t talk to my brother, and haven’t for almost 30 years, and my sister and I rarely talk, since my mum died, we are very different. All my mums siblings are still alive, My dad only had 1 brother, who had 2 kids…..but my dad had 2 older half sisters he found out about, after I moved here, so I’ve never met them, Apparently my Grandpa was married and had 2 girls before he met my Nanna and he never told anyone but my Nanna, it was a sworn secret, dad found out after my grandpa got ill in 99, and he finally told my dad and uncle. The half aunts, one has since passed the other I think lives in Tassie, but she may have moved back to mainland by now, as I know there was talk about it. The one who passed, Carolyn had 2 children, the other had 3 Children and I have no idea about any of them. Questions I should ask my dad just haven’t…ergh! It’s a touchy subject..
You should brag and be filled with pride, it sounds like he is very talented, And music awards of any kind, are not easy to win, it’s a really tough industry, so that’s amazing he’s doing so well and is recognized for is talents.

You have a large and interesting family Dee. Quite a history. I have been to many of those places you mention. Some family secrets are best kept, for the good of everyone. I have travelled the Barrier Highway many times. My late husband had an air chartre company so we got around a lot. We'd fly the children and their friends for picnics in dry river beds...'boiling the billy ' .
Thank you for your kind words regarding my son.

Hi Vikki, lovely to meet you, Sorry for your loss, I know that must have been really difficult, I’m am sure having a teenager in your home is super uplifting and frustrating all at once lol, I remember those years, of having the grumpy teen stomping through the house one minute, telling you they love you, your the best the next minute, to I hate you, why couldn’t so and so be my parents, etc….. I mean it wasn’t a daily thing, but whooo, are the monsters living inside them at times and where did that monster come from lol….
Girls I believe are easier than boys but way more dramatic lol.. I’m sure she is fabulous and fun for you most of the time. I am not familiar with Alabama, I drive through it a few times a year, especially if I go to Biloxi and Gulfport or New Orleans, occasionally I head to Vicksburg to see one of my dearest friends, when she gets free time off to have a visitor, so I do drive through a smidge of the state, She drives around several states and fixes hospital machinery like heart monitors, respirators etc, so any time off is rare, but she sees quite a lot of Alabama and it’s hospitals. I know very little about Alabama except it was a state that held a big part in the Civil Rights Movement and now with both MLK and Rosa Parks having museums in Montgomery and Birmingham. I also know it’s a Huge College football state with both Auburn University and Alabama “Crimson Tide” University both being huge football schools. I will never forget the year Alabama played Notre Dame in the National Championship 2013 and destroyed my precious team. BCS Championship Game - A42 - ND 14, such heartbreak lol Crimson Tide have a serious record under Saban I know it’s over 20 bowls with I think 15 or more victories and I know a slew of SEC titles. I wish I knew more but sadly I do not, I always tell myself we should stop in Mobile or drive up to Montgomery and see some of the state but we never actually do, I am hoping we do more drive around America trips in the years to come to see more of this wonderful beautiful country.
Type to you soon and take care ~Dee
