the safe tubes if you want. The lines are a little wobbly, but every time I tried using the warp to push the lines around they wouldn't go where I wanted them to. Oh well, you may fix it up if you want to. It's a suet bird feeder. You stick the suet on the pointed end of the peg and the birds stand on the peg at the side and pick at the suet and seeds.

Barb, can I ask a question? Why are you using the warp brush to tube with??
You should be using the eraser brush after you get rid of most of the background. I even find it easier to use the eraser brush set on a large size to get rid of the background on mine. For me it is much faster than using the magic wand. I can get up close to the image I am tubing, then when all that is gone I take it down to a smaller size to get into the corners and tight places and then finish up with the finishing steps.
I know everyone has their way of tubing but i wouldn't have a clue how you could tube with the warp tool.

This is so cool. All we need now is some suet and a bird to be pecking at it. Thanks.
Was this done in vectors? Then you could have manipulated the nodes easier than using the warp brush.

I put a NEW RASTER layer on top of my photo of it and then traced it. Is that okay to do? The lines I was using the warp tool on are the ones I did with the paint brush. I don't have a steady hand, I couldn't make them go exactly over top the bird. I used the warp tool lots, on the outside lines I did and the inner paint when I put it on. When I use the fill after making the outline the paint fill doesn't go all the way to the outside lines so I use the paint brush to fill in the empty spots. I hope this method of making a picture is okay?

Barb, if you already have a photo of the feeder, just hit shift D and then close out the first (original) picture then tube the feeder. I don't understand why you would draw another picture of something you have a picture of, unless it wasn't your photo.

Girl, you need to learn to use vector nodes. Okay. I'm going to get a little pushy here. I made a sample. I vectored over your tube. This is a wonderful piece to learn on. Now I use vectors and manipulate the nodes, but I am wondering if you might not be able to use the pen tool set at freehand. Basically it is drawing. For myself, I like the vector lines and manipulating the nodes, but give the pen tool a try. You probably have a much steadier hand than I do. You could draw the lines and fill in the colors. (I think)

Anita, yes it is my own photo. I have made a tube from the photo. Here is the feed tubed: I am attaching the original photo too: I was just practicing my drawing skills, free hand, no tools except the paint brushes. I find that I can't use the pen tool, it's too hard I think.

Too hard as in difficult to use or too hard meaning the line is too crisp? I showed it to hubby and said he needs to make one...lol I'd hate to think our birds are deprived, you know.

OK now, I snagged Barb's tubed bird that she tubed herself and took it to PSP and brightened up and it came out perfect, but how come I can't file it again as a png without it having a white background? Here it is with a white background. All I did was open it in PSP, adjust/brighten, then I filed it as is, as a png, and the white background showed up. These png and gif files totally boggle my mind. I've ever dealt with anything so frustrating as these at PSP in 7 years. LMBO!!!

Barb, that is a cool feeder. Just wasn't sure what you were trying to accomplish, but now I understand what you were doing! :-) I might have to have one of those too. lol

If you're just uding a paint brush, you're a hundred times better at it than I am. I might start with a curve, but at some point, it veers into a straight line.
