Good Morning
Long time 'no post'
Not to bore you, lots of 'real life' and 'blood' issues going on
Plus,Tina's PC has major problems and the person that was
to have fixed it, REALLY messed it up Anyway, that all happened
about 3 weeks ago The guy has yet to fix things
SO, Tina has been using mine She takes it to work with her.
Her boss has yet to get the companys own PC Of course,
if it was me, I would not use my PC and tell the boss, get
one or loose accounts etc Tina wouldn't dream of doing
that, of course LOL
Also MSN has been a real royal pain alot of the time, too
Everyone and things are okay Birdway is doing great He
loves to sing with certain music It is hilarious
Barry the baby Llama is doing fine
Bill bought an open trailer that was used for temp office space It is 14 X 40 Suppose to set up electricity and heat There is one room that is ideal to use for the mamas/babies Eventually want a sink etc in it In due time, I guess Only had to pay $250 for it Basically going
to use it for storage of things we need to keep at hand, but clear up some space in the house
Two of the girls had babies Missy had 3, but one died and Sissy
had two Now I am telling you that Sissy's babies are like
baby elephants They are about 2-3 weeks old and I bet
they weigh 2-3#'s already We are thinking they must be
Shaggy's Now Missy's babies are about a forth the size
They look small up against the others
Here about a week or so ago, Tina was out doing chores and
there was this wee baby kitten Of course you know the
rest of the story!!!! LOL Yup, in the house she brought it
Didn't see a mama any where around It was so cold out
she didn't want to leave it It looks like it is only about 3 weeks
old
So the first night I made up a homemade formula for it to
eat Then the next day she went and got kitten formula
Didn't have anyplace to put her Spawn, the cat that had
3 babies downstairs, wouldn't have anything to do with the
kitten at all So Tina put her in with Sissy and her babies
Sissy was all motherly with it But the kitten climbed out of the
pen and the other dogs mauled it Didn't know if she was
going to make it She had blood in her urine and wouldn't
eat But I kept trying to feed her Made a sling and put it
around my neck and kept her in that all day But by the next
day she was back to her usual self And the amazing thing
through all this, is that Sissy lets the kitten nurse and she
licks it etc. It is sooooo cute Tina took some pictures
Only thing is that Sissy's babies must eat most of the milk
So we still give the baby a bottle
THEN, Fancy [ another of the female dogs ] keeps getting
in with Missy and wanting to 'mother' her babies Of course
Missy don't want anything to do with that
Finally Tina had to put a lid on the pens
Yesterday, Bill was outside and he found a sparrow with
a foot frozen to the side of the water tank It had apprently
broken it's foot It was just dangling over the edge of the tank
He brought it in and it's little foot was just dangling by a
thread of skin So cut it off It was almost dead it was sooo
cold Had ice on it's wings
Anyway, I held it for quite a spell It warmed up Put it in
with Birdway and it got out between the cage wires
Couldn't find it for awhile But finally found it up above the
cabinets Got one of Rances 'crawdad' pots Put 'Stumpy'
in it Wellllllllllllll, got up this morning I went to look at
Stumpy and the door of the cage was broke and NO Stumpy
The cat/cats managed to break the door and Tina found
some wing feathers and it's head in her tub YUK!!!!!
So guess that took care of having to make a decision of
whether to keep it in the house or letting it loose We planned
on keeping it in for a few days until it's leg healed
But it is so darn cold out, wasn't sure what to do
Speaking of weather We were at 58 on Sat Yesterday
it got up to 14 and this morning it was -17 with some wind
REALLY COLD !!!!!!!! Suppose to be cold all week
Ok, guess I have covered the 'animal' updates
COOKING!!!!!!!! Thinking since last I posted I have cooked
for lots of gatherings Beginning to think ought to open
a 'weekend cafe' Need to call it 'The Dusty D's Grub House'
LOL
Thankgiving, there were 28 people here Gosh, not sure
what all I made I know Turkey, Pork Roast,mashed potatoes,
gravy, two kinds of stuffings,relish tray,home grown beets,
from scratch baked beans, squash casserole,deviled eggs,pea
salad,potato skins,homemade salsa and chips, the orginal
chex mix and a fruit chex mix,chocolate fondue,homemade
sunflower seeds [ dill, ranch and regular]an herb cheese ball,
cheesecakes, banana bread, lemon angel food cake, squash
pies, apple pie, german chocolate bars and homemade rolls
Hummm, think that was it
Then Rance started a new job, so I have been busy keeping
up making different kinds of burritos for him to take in
his lunch
Bills, birthday was yesterday So last week I asked Tina if
she had planned on any kind of gathering on Sat night
She said no she hadn't thought about it But it was a really
good idea [ when will I learn to keep my mouth shut!!!! ]
What I thought would be the usual people turned into people
at the meat plant that works under Bill
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when all was said and done we
had 58 people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good lord, thought I would faint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, let me think Fixed from scratch lasagnas [ even made
my own Italian sausage and noodles ] did enchilada
casseroles with hambugar and cheriso [sp], my own pickled eggs, potato skins, 5 doz deviled eggs,
dips, cheesecakes, oreo angel food cakes, rotel dip, sausages,
different types of breads to go with each casserole,
Gosh, can't remember if I made anything else I know it was
a solid two day cooking Tina bought some finger foods
in case we needed them and also chips, in shell peanuts [ NO
throwing the shells on the floor LOL ] Of course booze
Oh,Rodeo George [ friend] brought some type of mexican
marinaded meat and cooked it on the grill for me It was
delicious ]
Should have just cooked a darn whole beef in a pit!!!!!! LOL
I was beat Of course there was pool, slot machine, darts and kereoka [sp] and just CD's LOUD!!!!!
Think poor Birdway and the doves went into shock!!!!!
Birdway was making noise, but don't think it was singing!!!LOL
Our neighbor passed away last week That was such a shock
too She had went to Denver for a chemo treatment
and had a massive heart attack They induced her into a coma
and I think she had strokes Anyway the family finally
had them take her off of support.
Bill, Tina and Wanda and her son Zack just left to go to the
memorial survice
Sure wish I had the money to buy her house and properity
Such a good deal Great investment, too Think it is a 4 bedroom house, lots of out buildings, 4 1/2 acres, water rights The last I heard
last week was that they were having to lower the price Think it is down to $124,000 It started out at $300,000 Thats CHEAP!!!
Apparently the kids aren't interested in it
Anyway, I would LOVE to buy it and move over there Oh well, we all have our dreams LOL
Well folks, think I have typed a whole book here LOL
Have no clue as to when I can be back in
I have tried to join the new group sites Not sure I care for
the setups at all But don't think this is a popular change
I would love it if the managers of the groups I am in, would post their
new sites addys Or send me an invite As I mentioned I have joined
a couple
So hope EACH of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and will
have a super Christmas with family and friends
We are to have 5 extra people here PLEASE, PLEASE!!! LOL
But who knows how many we will actually end up with
As of the moment plan on smoking a turkey and maybe a
brisket And I imagine the usual sides
I already know the New Years will be a big bash! But
at the moment have no idea how many Last year there
were quite a few Thinking this year will be bigger
Wouldn't surprise me if there wouldn't be 40-50 SHOOT maybe
more Tina has a couple of weeks to 'let her fingers do the walking' with phone numbers LOL
So if I can get through the next couple of weeks, I will be
doing good LOL Told Tina she was going to have to slow
down on these gatherings We have been averaging almost
everyweek end for a couple of months or more
When the weather was nice, it was done outside Boy this
inside stuff is something else
Ok, need to go feed Birdway, he is having a fit, because I am
late with his bath and food
Missy somehow is out of her pen, so have to go put her back
in Then see what I can do about picking up around here
