That cherry doesn't look dilapidated to me. The stem is a little thick, but, since I don't do a lot of vectors, I think it's maaaaavelous!
Here's my vector that took me days to make but I'm very proud of it!
Dean, vectors are hand drawn images that you make using the pen tool and object selection tools at PSP.
You basically use these tools to shape your image by adding "nodes" which you can click on and manipulate the shapes.
It's quite interesting and quite challenging once you ace the node thing. LOL
Well, this is the best I can do to describe it.
Neophyte is our vector queen! LOL

SUPER COOL Babz! I draw all my images as vectors before I paint them. They come out much more crisp than my hand drawn ones! Love your results G/F!
