My town is in flood. We've had 16 inches of rain and it's still gushing down. Our road is under water but we are ok since we are high. Others are not so lucky as we. I've not seen anything like it. Towns are cut off.

Thank you Sue. I am quite a way from where the fires were . Well this country is one of contrasts...' draught and flooding rain '. So many countries are having disasters caused by weather. I feel so for people who lose their homes or have to evacuate... it's particularly hard for the elderly.

On my, Silk. That doesn't sound good. Wouldn't it be nice if that moisture could spread itself around evenly.

It would Neo. Hopefully when the rain stops in maybe 24 hours the water level will drop before too long.

Wow-hope you get some sunshine soon! Lots of sandbagging going on in the southern part of the province here but we're okay up north, still 4 ft. of ice on the river.

We are in a 3 year drought and really would love some water, and then those that are flooding would love to give some to us in exchange for some sun. Mother Nature sure can be cruel in many ways.
I hope you get reunited with your other towns soon SILK. I hope your electric stays so you can be with us for company and support.

Oh Silk, how sad. I sure am glad you are up on higher ground, but being cut off from other places must be scary. Prayers you stay safe.

Thank you everyone. we had a reprieve for a while but now it's readying for another onslaught. I had to cancel my appointments in the town. I can't help thinking how terrible it must be for people having to evacuate in the middle of the night, wet and scared. Once the rain stops it will be a few days before rivers subside . The happy ones are the school kids...some schools are flooded and I imagine all schools will be closed. This is a tourist area so holiday makers in the parks had to evacuate....what a fizzer for them.
I'm keeping the birds feed supply up since all nectar will be washed from the trees, and sunflower seed. Our Lorikeets are smart, cuddling up on the deck which is covered.
As you see Huronna, we have power and I can come in to see what's happening here. Drought is very difficult for those have to endure it. I wish I could send rain. Carol I cannot imagine 4 feet of ice, although in our Summer I often wish we had it.
