Facebook has had a problem for weeks. You just don't click on links, but if you are right at your profile page, you are safe.
Did the news say which email client was affected?

Ha Grampa got that one a couple of weeks ago... it wouldn't let him go to any Virus help sites, the pages just wouldn't load but he could go any where else... tried everything and finally had to reformat... lost all the drivers though, but he has been downloading them as needed... It came as an email from a friend who probably had no clue his confuzer was sending viruses... Keep your anti virus programs updated... but sometimes that doesn't even help...

dag.
I have noticed an increase in spam mail, and lots of ads for how I can make a certain part of my anatomy bigger. Hmmmmmm. That would be a trick since I am a girl LOL.

Oooooooooooh, Lord if I got the virus they'd pretty much just hear crickets chirping because nothing goes on around here. If they want to listen in, they came to the wrong house.
People can be so wasteful sometimes. All these resources expended just because some jerks decide to act cute.

I don't get any email except who is on my contact list. My junk mail filter is set to eliminate ALL mail before it ever reaches my account. Thank heavens for junk mail filters, and also I have a "family friendly" ISP which does not allow those emails that promises to make you bigger!!! ROFL........

I don't get any email either, except from only those that are on my safe list. I never answer any emails that are chain letters and I never open any that are forwarded, no matter who it comes from. If I want to send something that was sent to me, even from someone on my list, I always copy and paste it into a new email and send it. I never forward it. I don't open anything from anyone that I don't know. My filters take care of all of the rest. That's why they give people the filter options. I hate to say this, and I am surely not directing this toward anyone here, but, if anyone opens forwarded mail, or mail from unknown senders, after all of the warnings about email viruses over the years, then, that person deserves to open a virus. I'm sorry but that's how I feel.

LOL Susy well Grampa got his from an old trusted friend, who probably didn't even know his confuzer had the virus or Trojan or what ever its called... but he won't be gettin' anymore email from him as he has blocked him, rather than take a chance of getting anymore of that bad stuff from him... So no matter how careful you are sometimes they just get through...

Grama, I do realize that not everything is "safe". ;D I've been online for a number of years and I knock on wood that I've never had an email virus and I'm not saying that I never will, but, there are people out there that open just any old mail. I knew someone in a group a few years back that opened anywhere from 100 to 200 emails a day and they weren't all from his friends. He opened just anything. He was addicted.LOL He went to sites and signed up for things with his email addy. Everthing he could possibly sign up for, he did. One day his pc crashed and we never heard from him again but his wife that was in our group too said that he had 300 emails when it crashed. Now I could see 300 emails if you were the WhiteHouse or Brad Pitt, but doesn't 300 emails seem a little much?

LOL well that is a bit much I would say... Ol grampa doesn't get much mail only from some of his old friends... but some of them aren't to wise of the ways of the net... I've only been on the net since around 97... grampa was still traveling around the world as a consultant for the company he used to work for, so it was a way for us to keep tract of each other... grampa got me a Vic 20 to play with and then we up graded to a Comodor (sp) I was so thrilled when we got our first IBM clone LOL, it wasn't long before we got dial up and were on our way into the big wide world of the internet...

LOL, grama, I guess that would be the best way to keep in touch with each other and a whole lot cheaper than calling, huh? Quite an interesting story.
