Hi All, This is a Hover Fly taken with Macro Lense. I know Huronna likes to be kept up to date in what I am doing. I do so much like Macro Photography and particularly Insects. They are not so easy to take as they keep moving. This is where patience somes in and I can spend hours trying to get the photo I want. (bit like you all spending hours doing animations) I will take 100 or so photos and keep maybe a dozen. This is copyright to me ( Sorry Huronna I loaded a lot to photoshop and missed putting my copyright on them ) It as always is not for snagging. Take care Ailsa

I know they grow things big down under but that is one huge fly. How many time magified is it? Gads you can even see the little fuzz on it's belly and back. Unreal photo!

Hi Huronna, the hover fly is about between 1/4 and 1/2 inch in length. small. That is what a Macro lense does and why I take so many shots to get one which is reasonable. I have the end of the lense as close to the fly as I can with automatic focus setting on the camera. I would love to beable to have manual settings however with them moving all the time it is difficult. Yes they look so fluffy dont they. I guess that is why I am intriqued by Macro photography as you can see what you are unable to see with the naked eye
