I've followed a tut for this butterfly and have been trying for hours to get it right to no avail. With my brain not tuned in to animation I am at a loss. Would some kind animator help me with it please. LOL I've just noticed the butterfly body isn't doing the right thing either. A comedy of errors it seems. I added the body after. Silk Thanks Silk

Okay. There's good news and bad news. The good news is that the only thing wrong with the flap is that when you copied the frames to reverse the flap, you didn't put it after the last frame. I just moved the last frame to where it belonged. The bad news is that I cannot put the body in place because it goes between the wings and the background. Tell me the sequence you used. Was the body on the image and then you dragged the wings onto it? I'm trying to figure out how you came up short on bodies. My brain is still working with the back side of a headcold, so focusing isn't my strong suit...lol OOPS! I just reread your post. I can stop racking my brain on how you got only a single body....lol What do you have to work with? The background, of course. You must have the body. And the wings in their animated form? Yes?

If you attempt to do this before replying to me, remember that you need as many bodies as you have wing frames and that the wings get dragged onto the bodies, not vice versus.

What a nice tag, Silk! It kind of reminds me of Suzanne Wolcott, huh? Good job!
If you get confused......did you use our "wings" tut here to make them move? Neo has you on the right track. I know you can do it.

I'm so sorry I haven't been back. My ISP has been down and just now got a connection back. I am such a dufus...put it down to life in the difficult lane just now. I had the butterfly as part of scrap. I had to select the wings from the body and take it to AS where I used the effect > compress ,then I thought I followed the tut exactly. I wore my poor little brain out.
Thank you very much Neo for taking the trouble to fix the butterefly. I must have done something stoopid with the body.
I think I should take Susy's advice and try to do my own butterffly animation...I did it once when I first joined but life got in the way of my animation expectations. Silk
