Isn't this the coolest?? I think I have a tag that Carol made once that used a text effect like this, but I didn't have a clue how she did it. Now I know - lol.  |

Oh, the effect is the see-through letters. The lightning I just added so it would be animated - lol.

Thanks gals! What an awesome, supportive group of peeps you all are!! I come into AL and see all the fantastic talent that just oozes from every thread and it makes me feel bad that I have become so rusty with my psp. Then, you all give me props for a simple effect and it lifts my spirits and makes me want to play hookey from work and play all day!! LOL

Actually Betsy, no. There are no masks, no filters, nothing but psp and it's wonderful tools. It's actually pretty simple to do.
Add a layer to your background and put the text on in a fat font using black color. Make sure to create the text as a selection so it has the marching ants. Duplicate the text layer while the ants are still marching and on that layer put a drop shadow with no blur and 90% opacity. Select none. Lower the opacity of the text layer to somewhere between 25 and 50 (whatever suits you and looks good to you). Then just merge the layers. That's it. Pretty simple and pretty cool. At least I think so.
