I've been using PSP 8 for several years and was happy with it but I now have to reorder PSP 8 or go with a higher version. Should I stick with the PSP8 or go for the latest version? Also, should I get the boxed version or the download? I would appreciate any guidance you might offer. Thanks!

Duane, I don't know if you can order 8 now or not unless it is on ebay. As for as downloading or getting the CD I always prefer the CD. A friend of mine found hers there a year or so ago. I like 9 and I am trying afree trial of x2..well I am supposed to be but I only looked at it twice, LOL I know someone else can probably tell you.

I have versions 7, 8, and 9 and until last week I only had 7 and 8 installed and I decided to install 9 for the WIGH lessons. I'd try ebay too, Duane, unless you want the latest from Corel. I don't know which one to recommend but I think 9 is good.

Duane, as a former PSP 8 user I recommend a later version. Especially if you also like to restore photos or like to do vectors. I use PSP X and love it. I have been considering the upgrade but I may wait til next year. I strongly recommend you order the boxed version so you get the CD, easier to reinstall, etc. Corel has been advertising an upgrade for I don't remember exactly, but $49 or $59 US$. If you have 8, that's an upgrade. That's my advice.

I have 8 Duane and am happy with it. I have the CD so can always reinstall it. I don't think it is out there anymore. Someone here uses other versions and can be more help than I have been.

I have X2 and love it!!! I have the downloaded version. I'd probably loose the disc if I had it. But you gotta do what's comfortable for you.

I have used 8, 9, 10 and I have 12. The only thing about 8 I like better was the line widths were true. No versions after that have been. 12 has alot going for it. The materials palette is stable compared to 8, which likes to revert to another color. It also has a Smart Photo feature which I use alot. Of course, there are all those brushes for oils, etc. that I have no clue what to do with....lol Not only that, but it's classy looking in charcoal and black.

I have pspx2 I love it I have them all but only keep 7,9 and 12[pspx2] and I always got the CD so I would have it to re install if needed. I think the CD has a few extra things in it compared to the downloaded one.

Duane, I used 7 for years and tried 8 and 9 but always went back to 7. Last summer I bought the downloaded version of X2 and I love it. I still have 7 and also 8 on my pc but I never use them for anything. Good luck with the trial, I hope you like it. There are a few of us here that use version X2 to help you if you run into a bump and need a little help.

Why would you have to reorder your PSP8, didn't you get a disc? With programs like that I always get the "hard copy" that way I can upload it to another computer, or reupload if my goes belly-up. And I take it with me everytime I go to CA, upload on my friends computer while I am there and then uninstall when I leave.
I'm still in love with PSP8

Thanks for your comments........much appreciated.
Huronna, I lost my disk for the PSP 8 and when I got the new computer I downloaded a trial offer of PSP 8. I then had to reorder the PSP8 trial or purchase a higher version.
I'm now trying a trial of PSP12 and I ordered the disk for the latest PSP12 Ultimate..........how is that, going from 8 to 12 Ultimate.lol I don't know if that will improve my work.Ha!Ha!

Yep, Huronna is exactly right about being able to "take it with you". When I stay at my daughter's, I take my 7 and download it onto her pc and then uninstall when I leave. This last time she told me to leave it installed so her and my grandaughter can play with it......mostly my grandaughter, but, she's 9 and has been online since she was 3(played games , and I trust her cause they use pc's at school LOL

If it helps at all... I have V.8 on disk and recently trialed X2 on the laptop.. I loved X2!! But can't afford to buy it just now. I'm saving the pennies I would always go for a hard copy disc.. I bought 'Artrage' as a download and I have to keep my 'keycode' very safe... not good for a dipsy head like me, lol! Good luck with your decision, Duane Mandy :Dx
