I just wanted to leave my tip on how to get small text to show on a busy background. If you just want your background to be subtle, like a photo, then try my tip, or, you might have a better solution. Diane, I hope you don't mind if I use a snippet of your background for the example and show what adding a little bit of glow(Eyecandy3) to your text can do to it. It will pop right out. Here's what I did with Diane's pink floral background and you'll see the difference. First I used black text......sometimes white works too but on this I found that black did. You just have to play with the color of your text and glow. Usually black or white text is the way to go. Here are the Eye Candy "glow" settings that I use for mine and I changed it to a pink that was in that background. I just thought I would show the difference and I added a © to the little snippet cause I did use Diane's background. I use this method all the time with credits on things. You can use the same color of your image, add a 1/1/100/1/black drop shadow first and then add a glow and your credit stands right out but is the same color as the background.......just like "hidden in plain site". Edited to tell what glow I used.

It's in all the EyeCandys. I think Susy's screen shot was for EyeCandy3

I think glow is in eye candy. But you could probably use a drop shadow with H/V at zero and a 5 or so blur.
Good tip Susy. Thanks.

I usually Select the text....expand the section 2 pixels.....add a new raster layer beneath the text .... flood fill the selection will the main background color (if the text will show against it, of course). Most often I'll blur with gaussian at 3.

Yep, that is EyeCandy3. Sorry I didn't say what filter to use. I edited my post and add that I used EyeCandy3 I find that glow is the quickest and easiest but, as before, we all have our ways of doing things. Just for the heck of it, cause I'm always trying to find an quicker and easier way to do something at PSP, I tried everyone's suggestion. Sorry, Betsy, but I couldn't get the drop shadow H/V at 0 to work for me, hon. This one of yours is done with H/V at 2 and then again at -2. Thanks everyone for your input.

The tip that was a revelation to me was to use the same color as the background. I've used white or something else and it always looks fake but that looks wonderful. Thank you.

Suggestions are always welcome. And are we see again, there are always more than one way to accomplish things. I actually use all the methods depending of the size of the text and the colors of the background. Sometimes it's not even color, but if you try to put credits over saw a vertical blind effect, it's sometimes almost impossible to read unless you have that added color
