Good morning everyone, hope your day is going well? I finally went to see a doctor, she gave me a prescription for amoxicillan and said my throat is okay, its just bronchitis. Gave me a lecture about smoking of course...said that I'm 40 now and should quit before I get more problems...I told her I'm 50 and would try cutting down. When I went to fill the prescription my daughter asked me if I really wanted the 'puffer' too...she prescribed one of those as well...turns out that she prescribed the most expensive one for 100 bucks...I told my daughter just to fill the pills please! So anyway, I'm relieved that my throat is okay...have to admit that I was worried about the big C. Paid my water bill and went to the grocery store too...had to hand a note to the cashier for my tobacco since my voice keeps going out. Dh has to go to the mine again to pick up our son and a friend to give them a ride home. Son wanted me to leave this morning to pick them up but I'm not driving all that way by myself especially since I'm not even sure where the place is...very remote. With my luck, I'd hit a moose or something. Well...time to play now! (oh yeah-more flakes falling this morning!)

Ooh Carol I worry about you... I know some peoples can smoke forever and it never seems to bother them but it kills others... I lost an aunt and a uncle to cancer caused by smoking... I was up to 4 packs a day myself and couldn't lay flat in bed cuz I couldn't breathe (that was 30 years ago) I loved smoking and was a dedicated addict but when I couldn't stop coughing or get a nights rest, I had to give it up and I admit it wasn't easy... *Sigh* lecture over, I'll get off my soap box now...

I'm glad you went to the doctor Carol. Once the antibiotics kick in you'll be up to par in no time. As for the smokes....... Be well.

Bronchitis isn't good Carol and I guess you shouldn't be even going out in the weather. I hope soon with the meds you'll feel a lot better. I'm a non smoker even though I did try it as a teenager...just didn't grab me and now I am so thankful....as such I don't know how hard it is to give up . I too have lost two members of my family to LC.

I definitely feel for you Carol. Almost every day I think about giving it up, and then I say...well just one more day.
Hope those antibiotics work real quickly for you
