So my question is my Magic Wand is being all crazy now. I have it set on add/Shift and in the middle of a tag it will take itself out of Add/Shift and put it on Replace just out of the blue. Is that normal?
My concern is do PSP and PhotoImpact fight with each other? I found that I have 3 CDs full of scrapkits that I got on another messageboard, but when I put the CD in the D drive, everything arbitrarily goes over to PI instead of PSP. What gives? How do I get PSP back as my default? I made these CDs back over the summer when Jillian told me about scrapkits. so I don't know how the CD can even know about PhotoImpact.
My comment is I think all of you are super nice and I am so glad Mac led me here.
Love from your friend Grassy

Grassy when you are opening them from the CD, are you just clicking on the image on the CD to open them or are you trying to open them from PSP?

Gosh Grassy, I can't help you this time. I don't have PI so I have no clue how it works or anything else. My only thought on this is maybe whoever made the scraps used PI to make/save them and it is finding that as default?? I haven't a clue. So sorry.
Thank you so much for your nice comment to all of us. We think you're pretty nice yourself. :-)

Grassy see if this will work for you. In your psp program go to file then go down to Preferences. Click on File Format Association and find the little box in front of PSD Photoshop and put a check mark in the box. Then click on OK With mine set up that way, even if I try to open without my psp open and just click on the image on my external drive or a CD it will open in psp.

Grassy, I searched and read and searched and read but can't find why your wand mode would change in the middle of doing something. I'm sure there's an answer somewhere.

Hey yall! Suzie I tried your setting, so the next time I get a CD out I will see what happens. Thank you. If worse comes to worst, I will simply remove PI and reinstall it with the default clicked off. Thanks so much! I went to My Computer/D/CD Name/Yellow file folder and double clicked on that and I opened it from there. On some it took me right into PSP and the images popped up in there, but on others - particularly ones who used RapidShare or MegaUpload to share them, they went into PI.

There was a time when I was having problems not only with my magic wants but also with my point to point selection tool. It turned out that it was my mouse. Something had gone nutso with it. I bought a new one and veerything was fine

Oooooooooh, good to know. Lammy bought me an optical mouse for Valentine's Day. I wonder if that's it?
And if I take off PhotoImpact it will give me precious hard drive space until I can buy a new one of those. Maybe that is the thing to do huh? Just temporarily?

Too many peas in your pot. or programs on your computer. Better to perfect your knowledge about a few things than to just dip and dab in a bunch of them. The people that use that program swear by it, likewise us that use PSP. I think it's all what you got used to when you started. Don't think I would have the energy (or the computer space) to add a new program

PI came with my tablet so I thought I had to use it with the pen. Do I? I am not adept at the pen yet, so I am unsure what will work?

I personally would uninstall PI if you aren't using it. I mean, how long would it take you to install PI if you want to use it? My PSP's only take a little while to install so how much longer could PI take? Geez, Grassy, I have a question for ya....... What DON'T you have. Let's start there> You only have two hands and one brain, and can only use one pc at a time girlfriend. Why do you torture yourself? LMBO!!!

Poor Grassy....I think she has actually succeed in asking more questions that Neo did when she first joined. And I never thought that was possible.

LOL. Nosy minds need to know. I never thought when I started PSP that it would be this involved. I thought you just put your name on already-existing tags. Who knew you got to make your own too?! This is awesome!
LOL Susy, I am blessed with Lamb, who wants me to have absolutely every single gadget there ever was. I am spoiled that's for sure, but I am sort of cursed in that I am not computer literate by any stretch so I don't know how to use all this great stuff.
It was only last week that I figured out how the zoom lens on my camera works and that I am meant to use it instead of the macro lens in some cases. I got the camera in 2002!

I went to CF and they had a few suggestions about your magic wand but some at another forum were a little confused as to what you're talking about. LOL
Here's what I gathered. Reset to default first then go and delete your temp files etc then reboot and see if it helps. No harm in trying.
