It is super windy out today and our power has been out all afternoon. It finally just came back on. I'm hoping the wind won't take it out again!

Thanks Huronna. We just have one more ceremony to get through. My dad was cremated, so tomorrow we go to the cemetery for the internment. This has been one of the most stressful weeks of my life. I don't usually cry much at all, but this week I've really made up for it. It's so hard to think of him not being here anymore. I know it'll get better as time goes by, but for now it's just difficult. We'll need to spend a lot of time with my mom. They were married almost 58 years and she is, of course, taking it very hard.

Yes, of course. A long, trying week and then the reality of everyday sets in. Gradually you get used to it, but even after a long time, something will happen to remind you abruptly that you can't just call them or go see them.

My parents were married when they were 18. I had just had their 70th aniversary party at my house. My dad was not feeling well at the time. They finally admitted him to the hospital about 10 days later and did surgery only to close him right back up. He was at peace 10 days later at the wonderful age of 88 We had a wonderful relationship and though that was 6 years ago, I still miss him each and every day.
