Does anybody know how fonts are made? Can regular peeps like me make a font? If so, how?
Also, I have this vision of a font with shapes. Am I smart enough to figure out how to make my font without stepping on anybody's toes in case the font is already in existence?
Tell all!
Also, in the scrap kits I see alphas. What is the difference between a font and an alpha?
Thanks for telling me! :-)

Well, I see a lot of fonts in my head too, but I think with the thousands of fonts already out there, it has probably been made by someone else. I don't know how to make them, never really gave that any thought because I have so many in folders that I really have most of what I want. There is one in particular I want, but I am not about to pay for it, especially what they want for it!!!!!!!!!!!
I will leave this question to Huronna or someone who knows better the answers to your questions.
All I will say is....if YOU thought about a certain type font.....so has someone else, in all likelihood.

True. I like the way you think Anita.
I just wondered how they get made. And I am secretly too lazy to look through all the fonts to find my special one. LOL.

I used to have a program that would let you make your own fonts... you would draw what you wanted and then scan what you did and some how it changed it into a usable font... That was long long ago and I don't remember all the details...

It looks tricky. I would love to have a font where there are little circles at the ends of the letters. so like for the letter M, there would be little circles at the bottom of the legs of the M and the middle. I am unsure if I am articulating that so that you can imagine that.

Just like I don't make the images I use, Others work is so much better. The idea of making a font doesn't interest me at all since there are more than enough out there to satified my every whim and wish

Amen to that! The more I read about it, the more it kinda seems like a pain when you can go to FontDetails and get anything your little heart desires. I just don't know what a font with circles on the ends would be called. LOL!

And, more important, I don't know how much satisfaction I would get out of making a font. It's not like making a tag or a bow. Know what I mean?

Leave it to someone else Grassy. You have way too many other irons in the fire to worry about how to make a font yet.
