Here I come to bore you with another leg of my journey.
Friday evening we left for Palm Springs. It was probably about 75 degrees in LA when we left and 2 hours later in Palm Springs it was close to 95 and as dry as could be. I think I could have bathed in skin lotion and I still would have shed LOL
Steven and Joe were awaiting out yearly arrival. I've actually know Steven since I was in the 7th grade as he was a friend of my older brothers. We have never been far out of touch all these years. He and Joe have been together for about 35 years. They had lived in Phili until about 5 years ago when they moved to Palm Springs. Bill used to live outside of Phili and met then through my brother many years ago. It's always "old home week" when we get together.
Yesterday we got up to go to the palm Desert Park which has a zoo, a very small one. Even though we got there by 10 in the morning the heat was already unbearable. But being in the desert what else could you expect. Most of the animals were not to be seen as they has found some shade to protect themselves. I did get a couple of photos of scenery and some giraffe photos, which of course you are all welcome to use.
I tubes only the parrot, as I have a lot to catch up on. You people just keep posting and I have to try and see what I have missed.
After leaving the park we had a lovely lunch and then went back to their house and dove into the pool. Actually I didn't dive as I don't swim, I inched my way in and finally got wet. That sure was cooling.
We then sat around and talked for a while, but I guess the heat was getting to us all, so off we went as it was nap time.
Around 9 PM we went to "The Monsoon" the Indian resturant that we all love. Wow did we ever pig out. We just about rolled out of there about 11 pm, stuffed to the gills.
Today we went to the Indian Casino, no I didn't gamble. They had a lovely Mother's Day buffet which we went to last year also and again we were little piglets, or big ones depending on how much weight we all have gained.
We left early afternoon for the drive back and here I am again in LA where the temp is about 75. Oh when we left Palm Springs it was already 110. Woe is me! Just a bit too hot for my blood. I don't know how they stand it.
The cats were all mad at us for leaving them, but they'll get over it. We weren't even gone 48 hours.
Tomorrow the carpet cleaners come. Bill always schedules this when I am here. It's a yearly thing, so he doesn't have to take off from work. I have to earn my room and board some how right? I have to call my cousin, who live is Big Bear Lake as she is going to come in for an overnighter I think on Tuesday.
Well that gets you tp to date and now heres the photos
