WOW, beautiful photos, and the people who litter should take lessons from these folks. Clean as a whistle.

Awesome photos. I love how clean the city is. Those people have lots of respect for others. I bet those PTU potties are clean too. I've saved a few of these photos for future use. Thanks tons.
Now I'm off to part 2...

The closest I have been to going on a trip out of the US is a trip down to Mexico..... These trips of yours are going to live on and on in my memories for the rest of my days. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. The pictures are as always so welcome and so awesome.

Fabulous tour of Chile. When I was in high school I took Spanish and I always wanted to go to join the Peace Corp and travel South America. I know the languages aren't quite the same, but close enough.
PTU restrooms? Priceless! LMBO
Thank you for your tour. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Doing Chile and Argentina was great because I didn't have any problem communicating. I do love the shocked look when I start speaking because if you look at me you would never in a million years expect Spanish to come out of this mouth

Same with me....I remember a little Spanish but it's been 50 years. I'm German/Irish and people look at me funny in checkout lines when the person in front of me speaks Spanish and asks the cashier a question in Spanish and I tell them that they "Debe hablar inglés al cajero." Eh, so I'm just trying to help.
John's best friend speaks Spanish/Chinese/Japanese and probably many other languages because he travels the world but we talk Spanish to each other on the phone. I always tell him.....No hablo ingles, you got wrong phone number!!! LMBO

I'm glad the cleanliness has not changed since I was there in 2004, loved Santiago! I, too, was amazed at the subway system...the friendliness of the people. I would guess even now not that many use cars to get around so most people use the subway, clean and safe and efficient!
