I'm glad you were vocal, they need a push to listen sometimes. Well, a lot of times. You have a lot on your plate, I sure hope that you are able to get some help

glad to hear everything is ok where you are Hur. A friend of mine lives in Treasure Island and last night she was posting videos on facebook about water coming into the entry way of the condo building she lives in and then she showed a video through the window that showed car headlights on of cars that has gotten submerged in her complex. She said there were going to be lots there without vehicles today. Today She has popsted a video of down the street showing all the boats that has been shoved out of the water and across the street into people's yards. Crazy!
Milyn....thinking of you still!

I have gotten some rest and I feel stronger. This weekend I am focusing on wrapping my head around the changes that have taken place and creating a new mental foundation so I can step into all the roles required of me. I am also stepping up my physical activity as I have a nuclear stress test in two weeks. Yikes! The thought iof a chemical making my heart beat faster as if I were exercising is a daunting one as it also will simulate panic level fear. I won't be able to stop it as one can by saying "I'm done" and hitting the panic button on an exercise machine either. I will have to use mental fortitude and remain calm (bwahahahaha!) The test is happening because my orthopedic surgeon requires cardiology clearance it for a knee replacement surgery - and I am having one of those in November. The cardiologist (who has a bias against Long Covid) literally said: "I am using this as an opportunity to sneak in a stress test." I said I can't run on a treadmill. He said we will do a nuclear test. If I fail that test he will not give his approval; he is holding it ransom. No pressure. Of course, if I fail I may be headed in for a heart procedure, but my cholesterol is (according to my primary dr) perfect, and I have no symptoms except breathlessness from trying to get back into shape, so I think I would know... This is being done after the breast cancer journey when I have not been able to be very active. I have had 4 straight perfect EKG's with him and he has nothing to point at as reason for this test. Google says there are risks for seniors and low risk patients should not be given them. I'm going to ask my primary dr (who is also from India) what he thinks about this tomorrow. Wild ride these days!
Steve is doing a bit better. His body is beginning to function and he is getting a bit of the PT done. He is fairly miserable and complains constantly about everything, but I have to not let that bother me. And that's hard. I want to make everything better for him (now) when I need to be focusing on what I need to do for me and the home front and let him take care of his journey. I am really facing how much of a people pleaser I am in this phase of my life. I have to grow up. So does he.
The storm damage seems terrible. I love Asheville and hope the kids are OK. I had to turn off a video filmed by an interior camera of waves crashing through the windows of a home into a living room. Talk about stress test. So many people in distress right now. My heart goes out to them.
Hugs to all of you. Thank you for supporting me!

I can't imagine having a knee replacement along with all the other things you are responsible for now. I think you are one of the strongest people I know. One of my best friends under went a roto cuff surgery yesterday, will have to call her today or hubby to see how everything went.

I can't imagine managing a knee replacement amidst everything else going on in your life Milyn, but you are strong so hang in there. Roto cuff surgery is a hard recovery, best to your friend. Those muscles are difficult to rehab once torn, hope there is minimal damage from the tears.
We attended the symphony last night and I had to walk farther than I had wanted, won't do that again. We can park elsewhere and/or John can drop me off as he's done before when we took Rosemary. It was a lovely performance, so many younger musicians these days who are outstanding.
I have an appt w/hip surgeon in January. Wish it were sooner but will call occasionally to see about cancellation spots. He's the best up here and I don't want to go down to the valley.

I'm glad to hear the Asheville kids are OK Flagryl. I heard that there is terrible damage in more remote towns in valleys nearby. I hope water and power are restored soon.
I am going to try to push the surgery back - and the stress test too. Stress, lol! But if I can get the test into Dec I think it would help. I will call Monday.
Steve is doing better. He has been able to do some PT, his body is functioning, they stopped giving him foods that constipate him, he is getting into the routine a bit. I am staying home and trying to wrap my head around so many changes - grateful that the weather was not bad here.

Flagryl I hope your Family in Asheville get their facilities back soon, no fun at all
Millyn, I think that is a very good idea as you need time to get everything arranged and hopefully in another two months, Steve will be a little bit better.

Oh Clyde, sorry to hear that. Not good but hope you are on the mend. Family in Asheville is headed for Charlotte area as they are low on water and no word from the city about water distribution yet and they expect long lines whenever or if that happens. Minimal cell reception downtown.
