My eldest brother has passed away. Gary was my favorite, and I will miss him. I'm trying to put together photos for his children and a few to frame for myself. This is a very important photo and the only one I have anything like it. It's badly flawed. I can probably put a lot of time and minute work into cloning and smoothing all the various areas, but maybe one of you know a better way? I don't want to give up the background; the scouting aspect was a big deal. I have attached a resized photo. Please let me know if you think you can help restore it; I will send you the much larger image that I cannot attach here. Thank you. Attachments:

Mr. Miracle Man. How did you do that? Did Milyn send you the second photo? I tried using the close brush, but there was just too much that needed fixing. What program did you use?

That's amazing Arbee! Thank you. You didn't even have the larger sharper photo and you managed so much improvement. I really appreciate it. And color! I never imagined seeing that at all. I'm curious what you used to do all that as well. Thank you again, Arbee. Much appreciated!

I used the clone brush in PSP7 to clean up the photo. The colour wasn't really down to me. I used this site
It is very good as you can tell by the results.

I have very very few old Black and white photos, but I tried it on one of my father when he was a child. It is really amazing arbee, and it's free? What other treasures do you have up your sleeve, arbee

That's a cool link Arbee. Interesting that it can be both inventive and accurate in the same photo; Gary's sweater and the bricks near him are accurate. The dresses are brown and the Christmas stocking bright red. The sweater on the left may be blue, the bricks behind him have not changed. But the faces are truly remarkable and the overall effect amazing!
I also was going to use the Clone tool in PSP8, but it would have been a lot of time and hard for my arm. Thank you again.
Cute photo Huronna!

My try for you using the scratch remover, clone, and sharpen. I haven't done PSP in a long time.
Sorry for your loss.

Excellent work Arbee. I've done some restoring of photos from John's family. It can be tedious work. Thanks for the link Arbee
