Good night everyone...such a warm evening here. Grassy, glad you've given that job the flick as they say in the best circles. Huronna how nice it would be to have your friends on the same Malta cruise as you and Joe. I have loafed all day virtually except to make a big pot of soup. Couldn't eat today but soup this evening was just the thing. Tomorrow I see my doctor and must have that ultra sound of my heart. Joe has to see a specialist which is a bit of a worry. Milyn...keep off the ladder ! No way I can see my family. My grandsons are feeling lockdown and having to do their university work online. I feel so for the young people who are missing out on the experience of Uni. on Campus. Tired, so off for some more loafing with my book. Best wishes to all our people.

I understand that Henri is now downgraded. That combines well with a land home that has a generator in my mind for much less of a problem. My brother is in Lebanon, Hurona. He used to be in a waterfront home in CT at the border of RI. I used to love going to Hammonasset Beach and park. Is your friend's house near there? (We loved Misquamicut in RI too... Train Beach, it was called then. Sorry... toddling in memory lane here. You take care there. Have a nice storm party - and I think it would be wonderful if your friend's switch.
Hi Grassy! Halloween tags! Yay!! I bid pretty high for the one you had in the auction. Looking forward to more!
Silk: I hope you are feeling better after your jab? I also take Lasix and sometimes double doses. I have tried to make that room less boring, but there is only so much that can be done. I have a book by Isabel Allende in Spanish that I try to read - practicing my Spanish - as that at least makes me feel like the visits are put to good use. Mom used to do word searches "on the pot", and I keep a book and pen there in her honor. Today I am doing a good cleaning of that room - cleaning is something I have not been able to do for over a year - other than the necessary minimal. But I'm getting stronger so today is deeper. I hope you are making headway Silk... stay warm and HUGS!

I'm glad Henri has been downgraded and hope your friends can join you on the Malta cruise Huronna. Yea, good call on that nightmare job Grassy. Silk, I hope the ultra sound goes well today and Joe's tests come out okay, takes good care these days so I'm glad you both are on top of taking care of yourselves.
So, my computer saga. Last week my computer wouldn't come up, just stuck on the logo. Thought an electric shock had ruined the surge protector, may have. Got a new one w/4000 joules, problem surfaced again so I called Dell Support Assist which I am glad I have. Fortunate to get a wonderful, smart and efficient woman in New Delhi who determined my EHD had gone bad, not my backup EHD but another. I had already purchased a 4 TB EHD but hadn't gotten around to copy files to it but spent yesterday getting everything copied over. She also solved another issue. For months now I have had an issue with PSP not coming up a second time after closing it down. I'd have to restart my computer. They are not obligated to advise on software but she did. Said customers had been complaining about this same issue w/their software and Dell had looked into it and determined that Google Chrome, for some, interfered. She found it running in the background on the Mask Manager. I had also had this browser Chrome just black out for a second or two, especially on FB. Yep, other clients had reported that as well. So. I had read that Microsoft Edge had solved the security issues previously reported a few years ago. I switched and now used Edge, no issues. AND, I couldn't believe how easy they made it to import all my book marks, 3 clicks. Amazing. I remember when it practically took a computer geek to do it!!!
My computer is now up to date and rockin'! I had a wonderful time with this smart techie from India. I could hear a dog bark in the background, an American Pomeranian she said was a hand full. Oh, and she also fixed my security issues w/Malwarebytes [not required to but she did]. This program is so stringent it was actually preventing me from launching a Packer's video, so she changed the permissions. I hadn't thought of that. I wrote down her name and will request her in the future if any thing else happens.
I baked a peach cobbler w/fresh peaches from Utah in between loading my files to the new EHD. Cooler here now but should get into the low 80s in a few days, no rain. Lovely weather.

Flagryl.... must have been frustrating and then find it was something fairly simple. I noticed my chrome sometimes freezes but i do prefer it to edge so put up with it.. Hope the computer continues to behave.
I have had a fairly lazy weekend, catching up on housework, and laundry, visited my daughter and had lunch with a few friends. Not expecting to do much in the next few days except friday i have been asked to help my neighbour wallpaper and saturday and sunday i am dog sitting my daughters dog reggie. Thats me so have a great few days everyone..

Good morning everyone. Flagryl what a todo with your computer but great you found such a wonderful techi. I've had brief blackouts with Chrome. Thank you. I didn't have the ultra sound after all. My doctor said we already know my heart is enlarged from hospital Xrays and that I have fluid so why put me through another 40km trip ,since I'd have to make an appt. I could only agree. My sons are desperate to see me and I them. Tilly, sounds like a nice few days for you. Thank you Milyn. Good to hear you sounding brighter lately and that you're keeping 'that room' up to scratch. Huronna, I hope the weather is behaving for you. Cold and wet here. Best wishes to you all.

I'm relieved to know you didn't have to make that unnecessary trip Silk. I sure hope things improve so you can see your sons. It's getting cooler here, too at night but in the upper 70s during the day, sunny however.
John's class reunion in Wisconsin was cancelled due to covid, we were going to go back and combine seeing family and spending some time at the lake. I doubt we'll go back in October, our backup plan as no word from Bill who bought the cabin from John 40 or so years ago. He's got a construction project going so not sure when that will be finished. Oh well.
My computer is just rockin' and so glad I switched to Edge, not good for my computer to experience those blackouts periodically. You can use the Google search engine on Edge if you don't like Bing. Though I'm going to give it a go and check it out. I didn't give Edge much of a chance a couple of years ago when I bought this computer because of the reported security issues. So glad they fixed those.
The plants in my sunroom are doing so well since I've repotted most of them. I have a couple of large ones I'm not going to mess with this year, always a process. Practically all of my violets are blooming. I'm tending some small pots of Aloe Vera, gifts for my book club. We give each other small handmade gifts at Christmas and it's always a challenge for me since I'm not very crafty.

Just popping in for a quick update. My sister in law has been sent back to the hospital from the care home. I think she is giving up. Cancer sux. I got my MRI and they found narrowing of spinal canal due to bulges. I had two but now three and 2 uncovered discs. Do not really understand uncovered discs but am being referred to spine doctor. Waiting for appointment. Huronna we are also looking at buying in an RV park in Polk City. That is not far from Tampa. Still searching for a house in Titusville too. Have fun and a safe trip back. We’ll time flies. Have to get off here for now. Saying hi to everyone. 👋

Goodnight everyone. A shame you won't get to have a reunion Flagryl. I love to hear about your plants. Most people like to have a plant gift.I am now a frustrated gardener. It was something I liked very much. Such good therapy. Some of our orchids are in bloom in the garden. They flower at different times of the year so we usually have one or two in bloom. We were able to give our cleaner Suzi a couple of long stems of them. This year that plant has 14 stems of flowers. Whispy I'm sorry about your SIL. No news here. I am struggling a bit and not doing much. My grandson sent me three of his compositions and that was nice to listen to. My best wishes to you all as always.

Whispy, I hope you and your husband are doing ok regarding you sil, so hard. And, I hope your appt goes well given the MRI results. Our orthopedic surgeons here have procedures and injections to help that do not involve surgery. Keep us posted, I hope your transactions go well and you find what you want in FL. Silk, how lovely to be able to listen to your grandson's compositions. I do hope you have some good days this week. My oldest is off the end of this week for the Univ of Victoria in BC, his sophomore year but first on campus due to covid.
Once again, the custom ear plugs, ordered by an audiologist here, did not fit. I have tiny ear canals. Nice weather here, 81 today and sunny.

I am sending good wishes to everyone in pain and ill and dealing with pain and illness and loss and grief and fear and strife. This may sound odd but I don't really care because we are family here; the planetary alignment has been very poor lately - and in fact for awhile. There is a little window of "a bit better" right now. Beyond that I haven't checked.
In my world, today I deleted mom from my phone - and all of her doctors and her care facility and more. This followed my r3emoving her and the facility she had lived at from the auto dial functions on the car, because I realized they would try to call mom if there was an accident or incident - and the number is disconnected. Not helpful.
That happened because I got lost on the freeway last week ten minutes from my house. I knew I was driving, knew I was going somewhere for an appt, but didn't know which of the three connected cities I was in nor where I was going. I aimed for the nearest exit, which I did not recognize (fair...they had just changed the name... no lie.) I recognized the geography of the exit and thought: "this leads to PT. Am I going to PT?" Only to remember I was going to the gym. "But where is the gym" I somewhat frantically thought as I was crossing lanes of fast moving traffic to get to the exit... My mental map was gone. The one major street I could think of connected to the gym was half a mile off and a rout I would not take because it is a "miracle mile" as mom used to call them; a route filled with big boxes and restaurants. The gym can be reached by turning off that route; but it is certainly not either route I commonly take.
It all lasted only a few minutes. When I got off the exit I remembered a bit more of my mental map and when I took the first right (as seemed a prudent plan as there was a gas station right there to pull off into,) I realized I was on the road to the gym. Literally, straight ahead, last turn on the left. Gym.
It was odd.
But since Covid stress make weird things happen. And there are several major stressors right now that I don't mention. One involves the sale of mom's house - which is atypical. Another involves a young person I love seeking sanctuary. I think the third would be my upcoming trip to PA to (for the first time) visit my niece and her spouse (major travel for us now) becasue she needs the visit. My sister has been very cruel to her. And I need the visit. She is the only family really important to me since mom passed. That visit may involve the passing of mom's diamond ring. Not sure.
Lots happening all at once. The trip will require packing and a seven hour drive - but I can't sit for more than an hour or maybe two - so will have to get out and walk etc. Say 10. Going up on a Sunday and coming back on Thurs to avoid as much traffic as we can. Staying in a lovely hotel w/ and inside/outside pool and other great amenities.
And yes; leaving my bubble entirely. Weird.
I'm sorry for the book... but thank you for being here for me. HUGS!

Good morning. Sunny day. Flagryl, how frustrating regarding the ear plugs. I hope something gets sorted out that is satisfactory soon. Thank you my day improved yesterday and I felt reasonably good. Had my feet done and that was nice. Milyn some years ago I suffered just what you did being disorientated while driving and ended up with amnesia that lasted 3 weeks ( I am not suggesting that will happen to you )..all due to stress. It's a very unpleasant experience. You've certainly had stress. Here are a couple of photos of the orchids out just now. The white is a native bush orchid and the green a Dendrobium. While I am at it. the Green Cat Bird that comes to bathe and eat berries.

They are beautiful Silk. Thank you for sharing them - and your story. Sadly it is not my only symptom, but stress indeed is a factor. Doubly sadly there is no light in the window there atm, but I will keep my chin up and know I am not alone and others have walked it back before me.
Good news! Flagryl has patiently helped me to get Xenofex 2 in my plugins, so there will be new options available to me for tagging in the future. I look forward to that. Thank you so much Flagryl!

Welcome home Huronna! It will be lovely to have you back - I'm sure you had a lot of fun and that's good too!
Silk... I have been trying to process 3 weeks of amnesia and what that was like for you and your family. I remember turning my head wrong and having two weeks of vertigo when Steve was overseas, but that's nothing to your tale. Wow. I have also had many a good moment recalling the many times I gave Dendrobium bouquets to mom and others - with no idea at all that somewhere they were a yard shrub like my Gardenia or Lilac. How beautiful. You really do live in a paradise.

Today I went to aqua aerobics as I do twice a week. I got my white aqua sneakers and wore them into the pool and when we did flutter kicking and long leg stretches it was very hard to keep my feet from being pulled up to the surface. My shoelace came untied too. I didn't recall that ever happening before. In the locker room it seemed to me that my shoes weren't as bright white as they used to be. Haha! They definitely were not. They were my white Avia sneakers, worn on errands and such - not in the grass, not my Ryka water sneakers with the special slider on the tucked laces. Blush. I don't keep them in the same place at all. Oops!
It was a fun class though. Steve came and the water was lovely and the 12 of us made a nice circle of movement. I had a good time. We stopped for a Subway on the way home and I have to admit we had a nap after. That class is no joke!

Spider season has begun here. Our house is close to another little cottage (did you know there are terms for little houses in the USA? We are about 8 feet apart. Both were built during the war years; mine in 1943 - called a "Scavenger House" because it was the end of the war and materials were hard to come by).
The spider doesn't care. It only knows we have a path between walls that the sunset fills. Alas; my neighbor needs to get his trash cans out and put his motorcycle away etc through this "lane" to both back yards, though we do not access it often because we have better access on the other side.
We play Backgammon every night at 6 or 6:30. We sit in the front windows at the backgammon table I bought in the 80's at Bombay House to match the pieces I made in High School (1st female on the East Coast to take Metal Shop... Poor Mr Johnson, who got me without notice - and then also had to teach me to drive while I put Strawberry oil on his neck when it was my turn to sit behind him as he instructed ... 3 students at a time...) Anyway...
For several nights now we have seen the neighbors come home from work (he: manager of a restaurant, she: water treatment plant field work) and do battle with the web built by the spider owner of that passage. (You shall not pass!!!)
Some days are not good for intervening in neighbor's lives, but today we saw him at the right time... We told them mom's favorite plan of laying a long stick beside where you park your car. getting out, you grab it and hold it in front of you so as to keep web off face. Finding web; you twirl the stick in a condensing spiral to catch as much web as possible - and the spider - on the end. Then you go to a nearby (and much more workable for you) place with potential for bugs and find something to scrape it all of onto... a bush, a tree... We have relocated many spiders that wanted to web over our front sidewalk that way.
Oooohhh... there are few things creepier than a web on your glasses with no idea where spidey is! Shudder! I walk softly and carry a big stick at this time of year!
It's not Halloween yet... but it's not far off. Spidey knows!

Good morning...sunny. Milyn I think orchids grow in gardens in climates like Florida. I would love to be able to grow Lilac but too warm here for it.I was able to give stems to my cleaner and neighbour. The Gheckos keep those 8 legged critters away here. Interesting way to get the web and save the critters.. It was a very strange thing to have amnesia. I awoke in the morning thinking I had to get ready to go to my job...Julien, my son told me I had retired. I also had forgotten I was divorced...oh horrors; glad that wasn't true. I also forgot I'd showered and was preparing to do it again. Thankfully Jules was home to take me to my doctor. I've not had a recurrance. Glad you've got Xenofex...I would be lost without it. Made a Thai curry for dinner last night with Joe's help...really nice. Left overs too...a bonus. Have tried three foreign tutorials without success. Trashed. Best wishes to you all.

We boarded our flight and stayed on the tarmac for about 60 minutes before we came back to the gate and deplaned. Storm and lightening. Instead of leaving at 3:15 we didn't leave until after 7.
We have just arrived home and are relaxing after a very long day. I will be in tomorrow with my challenge and try to get back to normal
