And you are right Whispy, was putting up the new July stuff at Angels, and totally forgot this thread. I always like those subtle reminders. I get them from Silk in PM's all the time HA HA what would I do without you all? There would be a blank board

Well, Howie arrived around noon. It took him a while to get settled. He kept wanting to go for walks and boy does he ever truck. I was really short of breath trying to keep up with him. joe and I took turns and then on my last one, the rain came pouring down. We both got really wet. After towel drying him, he’s finally a bit worn out and has been sleeping on the couch next to me. I made his dinner, but he has not touched it as yet. maybe later

Hi everyone. Just checking in. Sorry I haven't been around. I am doing better, but just not up to forum stuff yet. I have 3 big appointments coming up. Hoping they figure out something for me to feel much better.
Happy July and be safe. In our area, due to the drought, no fireworks. How's it in your area?
God bless.

Miserable weather to be puppy sitting. It has not stopped raining. Poor Howie, he gets drenched every time we go out. He is also gets scared real easily, could be because everything is strange to him. This morning the Garbage trucks were making their rounds and I knew the recycle would be next and then the yard waste truck, so I took him in the back yard which is all grass. He's not going to want to visit with us again, is all it does is rain while he is here. He'll associate our house with rain. He did sleep through the night which we were happy about. Now we are alternating being gone. Joe went to the gym early and then he will be home when I go to see my trainer. The last time we had to walk a dog, was when we were 52, that's a long time ago. and The we didn't have to walk Kirin, he was so well trained he would just go out, potty and come right back. Even when we would take him down to the outside coffee shop, he was never on a leash. The ferrets were, but he wasn't ha ha

Huronna, dachshunds will never be trusted off leash. They are natural born hunters. If they smell something interesting they take off and ears are turned off. They follow their Jose. I am sure once he is comfortable in your home he will eat and not be so sensitive to noises. You have Elsa heading your way now. Stay safe. Angel, I pray they do find a cure. They have just been medicating and it is not working well. We have had rain off and on for a week. Not dry at all, lakes are up and people are headed to the lake. Fireworks will be going off everywhere here. I hate fireworks, wish they would outlaw them. Well going to get my hair cut. Been ages and I am shaggy. Laters gaters.

Good to see you Tilly, glad you dropped in. Angel, I sure hope some resolve w/your situation comes round as it's been too long. Howie sounds cute, yes the rain does not help. Agree with you about the fireworks Whispy, outlawed here as it's too dry. The Rafael fire is 89% contained and the Type I mgrs are turning it over to local fire fighters.
The Forest Service team spearheading a project to aid land/property owners with forest health came out and assessed our property. The 9 trees we thought we needed to cut are okay. John has done an excellent job of clearing trees, he even cleared more than 100 Ponderosas on FS land several years ago when he was given permission and a crown fire is not probable. The FS team did recommend a prescribed burn from the top of our property down to the valley when it's safe to do. I am thrilled to get rid of the duff. They recommended an indoor air filter for us and it will go a long way to help my allergies. We have a couple of air washers but they do a better job w/adding humidity than cleaning the air.
Got 5 min of rain! Better than nothing. I ordered ribs from our local rib/grill guy for Saturday instead of Sunday. We still can't grill outside because of fire restrictions. It's been on the cooler side here but may get to 80 today, hope more rain is really on the way in the coming days.

Just checking in for July. John and myself had our feet trimmed at our Foot Doctor today. Won't have to go back till Sept again. Fireworks around us our driving our little Boots crazy. Poor baby and around here they're suppose to just fire them off on the 4th of July. But you would never know it. Police have been around this neighborhood of lately to. Speaking of rain we have had our share here in Southeastern Iowa, plus hubby saw a funnel cloud that turned into a tornado but went up and then back up. This was a few weeks ago.

how in the heck is it July already? Feels like july around here so I should be used to it. Sydnee turned 11 on Weds. We couldn't have the get togehter for her friends because my Sister's pool was a lovely shade of green. There has been lots of rain here. she went over to Gma and Gpa's Friday while I went to the doctor. Staying there probably until Tuesday after my appointment.
My belly area is a lot less swolen today. She changed the drain thing on it from Tuesday and I word my binder last night for a little bit and it is draining pretty good now. Wish it would finish as it still hurts me to sit at my computer for extended periods of time. I am loving my new belly button though! LOL

I hardly have a minute computer time, as long as puppy is laying next to me, he is happy, but if he starts wandering around he gets in trouble. It’s a sandal or a stuffed animal, had to bury two of them and move the others up to the dining room table. Joes hearing is no bad, that he doesn’t hear the strange sounds. And the rain has still been coming down, so we try an take him out when there is a little lull. He really is a good boy, we just are not used to it. His daddy will be back and pick him up tomorrow. I’ll get the outstanding tags up tomorrow

Good morning. After a week of rain it's a lovely sunny day and our Frogmouth has returned to it's corner on my computer room balcony. The very large Yellow Tailed Cockatoos have been feeding on our Banksia flowers...the dead ones that are full of nut like seeds. Am I boring you ? They give us so much joy. Angel it's good to see you and I hope something can be done to help you soonest. Mary also great to see you. I imagine that was major surgery and will take some time to heal. Happy birthday to Sydnee. Glad you're happy with the new belly button... We've not seen Smilyn for some time. Tilly, always good to see you. Huronna bad luck with the weather just when you have Howie. I am so looking forward to photos. When I was first married my husband gave me a Siamese cat and a Silver Poodle for a wedding gift. My first ever pets. I could walk my cat on a lead if I had to take it to town to the Vet. We also took them to the drive in theatres we had then and my cat would sit on the car bonnet with the lead attached to the car. People would do a double take. We lived in the desert then and I think it was the first Siamese cat or Poodle seen there. Covid cases are still mounting and I don't know how long Sydney will be in lockdown ( where my sons and their boys live.) Ben is losing thousands of dollars because of that side of his work he does for musicians, bands etc. is not happening . My other son Julien is a chef and it's mainly take out at this stage. So he is OK. Margie fireworks are illegal here except for major events where they are controlled by the city. No personal permissions. They are so frightening for animals. Flagryl I am glad your trees are saved and that you'll have something to help avoid your allergies. I also suffer when their is smoke in the air.

Oh Huronna, I'll bet you are fit to be tied as they say with no internet. Though my rotator is working, Fotki has been down since yesterday afternoon so I can't post anything. Hope it's not a major issue. Mary, so glad to hear from you and your new belly button. Sending healing fibes, rock on. Huronna, I forgot to say how lovely your home looks, I love the palm trees in front...very elegant. Silk, I've never seen a Frogmouth let alone a Yellow Tailed Cockatoo. Thanks for the pic. Yes, Covid is ruining some careers and I'm sorry Ben is taking a big hit. Glad Julian is doing okay. All our kids are still working from home thankfully. Milyn did sign into Angels but no update. Margie, I can trim my toe nails but can't polish them since my back surgery so I just have them done when I get a Pedi every 4 weeks. She also sands off the dry skin on my heels that form in this dry climate. I swear I should have stock in lotion companies! I add lemon grass or lavendar essential oil to my Cetaphil lotion bottle.
We finally got some rain, not a lot but a little will do for now. More today I hope. Ribs were yummy. We try to help out our local restaurants with carryout, some are open now but many still offer take out meals.
I am going to hem a couple pair of slacks for my friend Rosemary who has lost quite a bit of weight. I haven't done that in eons so I hope I can do a good job.

Hi everyone!
I am doing awesome except for a terrible lymphedema flare. I suspect I ate too many treats over 4th of July weekend.
Flagryl, isn't it weird what we think we have forgotten? My mama got some pajama pants to hem for someone, and she had to think for a minute because she hadn't hemmed pants for so long. She figured it out right quick and I am sure you did too.
Huronna, no internet BLAH! That is a huge poodle doo!
I need to catch up on everyone else's news.

Good morning. Overcast and cold. Huronna...good to see you and hope you get internet soon. Grassy I hope you feel better very soon. I need to do some reading on lymphedema. EDIT: I read up on it...it's a pretty miserable condition and I am more than sorry you have to deal with it. Flagryl, nice that you can help Rosemary do what she can't. I still remember that great photo you posted of your friends that included Rosemary. I think my sewing machine must be rusted by now. Last night in bed I felt something prick my foot. I was wearing new pyjamas that my alteration lady had shortened. I found a long pin still in the hem. Could have been worse. Thanks for your commiseration regarding Ben. His partner is working from home as is Julien's wife. Ben does some work that comes from LA and other areas and that is still happening plus he gets royalties from his work however, he is feeling the pinch. Thanks for the info on Milyn. Tilly...I hope you cooled off. I know there are some high temps in the US just now. The man is calling me that coffee is ready and so am I. He's playing the tenors and it's bit loud for this early in the day. I feel more like something gentle.

I am relieved Huronna is not worried about Elsa and that she and Joe have been watching all kinds of older movies and she's doing some tubing. Grassy, I did a better job than I thought I would. Last time I hemmed slacks was for my mother when her eyesight was failing. I did the knit slacks by hand after zig zagging the edges so it would lay flat. The thin cotton pants had a machine sewn hem so I did the same, tension was a bit too tight but I hadn't noticed til I was done but it doesn't pucker, so there's that. I am not a seamstress but my mother was so I think I learned by osmosis. Grassy, I honestly can't imagine what you go through. Hugs to you.
Silk, can't believe that pin was still there, goodness gracious. I have a running commentary w/John about dinner music. I do not want to listen to a symphony, give me a nice quartet or a jazz emsemble thank you very much. Glad Ben had good contacts, he'll make it through.
Tilly, hope that fan worked. Would you belive it's still cool here, well not outside...low 80s, but cool inside. In jeans and long shirt.

Nothing like good jazz Flagryl or a quartet with dinner....I am definitely with you there. The Symphony is to be enjoyed with the volume it deserves.
