There are many gated communities in the area where I live, but I didn't want that as I always have friends dropping in unexpectedly. But I did want certain rules. After living in PR I didn't want to live where people could paint their home bright blue with yellow trim. Or let the pain get run down. I didn't want to see a neighbor's car on Jacks in their driveways missing a tire for months. Or an RV in the front yard. Or a boat on the side of a house, practically touching yours. It's a quiet residential area with only 97 homes. Our property is between those red lines. Just a little over 10,000 sq ft. Photo is a big elongated, from google maps. Anyway it looks like there was not enough votes to pass what they wanted to do. The stupid meeting was so disorganized I was ready to scream and the way it was presented to the residents, most just ignores the letter. We are pretty friendly with our next door and the three across the street. When I was talking to them, all of them said they just were ignoring it, but since they agreed with me , I asked them to fill out the proxy papers and I took them with me after photo-ing them and e-mailing them. They needed 2/3 rd and they didn't even get that many responses, so then they started talking about going door to door for the others and I and one of my friends just about had a hissy fit. The vote was TODAY! and if someone didn't vote, it's the same as a no. It's the third time they tried to pass this rental amendment. (which by the way included that you had to own a place for 2 years before renting and you have to have the boards approval before renting-.....talk about a dictatorship!) ok got to get dressed for my pedicure, see you later

You have a beautiful home Huronna! How long have you lived there? Glad to hear they didn't have enough votes to pass it! If this is the 3rd try, sounds like they are determined though. Keep fighting

Lots or the plants have changed. We have two huge Norfolk pines growing on he right front side of the house, They were in a pot and stupidly I put them in the ground. They are taller than the house now and we have even had 0ver 10 feet cut off the tops. Then there is a Chinese palm in that front garden,, that was a 2.95 pot from walmart. I really shold get out with my camera and take a "now" photo, but it's raining right now. Then I would have a before and after photo LOL

A lovely home Huronna...plenty of garage space for Joe. You have a little bit of Australia in the garden. Norfolk pines from Norfolk Island.

Good evening. We have been getting rain since Saturday, but between rains I have managed to get the things back in motor home that I need. Everything else stays here. If we ever leave again that is. I cleaned and organized as I put things in. Finished today by loading the new handheld mixer and putting the older one in the donate box. Found many things that got misplaced when Jerry was throwing things in boxes to get everything out. Such as the TV remotes, and my DVD player. We just got another inch of rain in this last cloud burst. We are supposed to get rain off and on the next three or four days. My garden is loving it though. Things are growing well, including weeds. I might try pulling some tomorrow. I rode my trike around the yard and gravel driveways for awhile today strengthening my legs. Could not do that before knee surgeries. Attachment Deleted That is my trike. We were called to the sheriffs office to pick up our CCW permits. I always set off the metal detector and this time my long shorts proved the knee replacements by the scars. Such screening to get in there. No cell phones no pocket knives and everything out of pockets. I had my ID was all I had. So it was easy to get through security. We really do not have anything planned for tomorrow. Thursday is usually our girls day out with sister. I too love getting new shorts. My older ones were to big so ordered some bike shorts from Amazon Prime Day. Love them. I have read all the posts but as usual I have forgotten who said what. Sad to hear of the sons father passing, happy the Arizona fires did not get any closer. Lovely house Well best get off here and crawl into bed. Good night.

Huronna, I love your house!
I am very sorry for the death, but like Whispy, while I read everything, I forget who said what.
Amazing News! The Depakote has helped to reverse the kidney damage that being on Lithium Carbonate for 20 years caused. My kidney function is back to within normal range! Woo Hoo! I am also more happy and more clearheaded on Depakote. Yay!
I was dropped from the Gastroparesis study due to Depakote, but phooey on it. I am happy and clearheaded.
I had a totally craptastic day yesterday and one of my besties (Bestie Carmen) drove to Owatonna just to give me a hug. That was so nice! Besties are awesome!
Today is much better.

Well "Howie, the hot dog" should be arriving in about 15 minutes. We had a dog for many years, but out last one passed while in PR. We have had a dog visitor her twice for a few days, but the owners where here also. I don't know if it's excitement or nervousness LOL. So I may be a little scarce for the next couple of days, paying more attention to him and making sure everything is good. And hopefully some photos also
We had dinner last night at our friends in the "castle". We watched the Hockey game, it's in the finals and Tampa Bolts are in it. We watched the game in their "theater" Talk about big screen! I think it was 15 feet wide ar least. Reclining lazy-boy type chairs, and some wine. Oh brother! I felt like I was on a cruise ship LOL. (coming down to reality now) we did have a great time, met one of the son's who just finished college and will be working with Dad on the management end. We all laughed and grumbles about the politics (we are of the same thoughts there)
Well best get ready for our visitor

Officially half of our year is past. Happy and safe July. I was looking for the July thread but decided Huronna is busy as a one armed bandit. So I will wait.
