Good afternoon. Mary, my very best wishes for a great result. You will feel pretty sore for a while I imagine. How brave you are. This operation will eventually be so good for you. ♥ That is a lovely necklace Whispy. I've seen this sort or work but had no idea so much was involved. Grassy enjoy your sleeps. Maybe you needed to catch up and getting up at 6am. I am getting much more sleep than I ever did but that is due to anemia. Huronna...not a nice thnig to wake up to but glad it's been sorted out. Catherine and Phillip took us out for coffee and cake this morning...the first time I've ventured out in the morning for a long time. I was so happy I felt up to it. The restaurant just a couple of streets away from us on the water. The day is beautiful and the sea so blue . Everyone was out walking their dogs and children playing in the park. I had a decadent chocolate cheese cake that was just heaven and really good coffee. Haven't had time for psp but began a set last night when everyone was in bed.

Glad you got to spend some time w/Joe's daughter and husband Silk, always a delight to see family. I'm sure the brandy Alexander cheese cake was lovely. Coffee and cake by the sea is beyond lovely. Huronna, the RI trip sounds fun, when are you going. Glad you survived w/o the internet, ha ha. Lynx, what's the report on your Dad? Congrats on your job Grassy, you are a natural. Sorry about the heat, we are gettting it this week. All days in 90s. Opening the skylights at night and closing the shades during the day. Mary, I wish you the best dear gryl. It's a lot to go through. Losing all that weight and now the surgery, takes dedication. I applaud you!!
I made lasagna Sat and we took dinner to our friends, including some Graeter's ice cream and salad to round it out. He's recovering from a medical issue, took longer than usual to find the right antibiotic. I need to get out my lighter, summer clothes now.

Sounds like you are having a lovely time with Joe's family Silk, the morning breakfast was a nice touch and glad that you could enjoy the fresh air. OH how exciting Mary. I know you have been working so hard on the weigh reduction i'm just hoping that some day, you will show us your terrific results. Those before and after whots that we always wonder if they are real or not. Grassy, the heat here tires us out also. I don't normally nap, but lately sometimes I just need to lie down for a few minutes, even if I don't sleep. Dinner last night was so much fun. My trainer, who I have been seeing since the first Saturday in 2010, had us for dinner. Another of his friends was also there, who I've known from the gym for about 6 years. His appt was always before or after me. Plus Anthony's lovely girlfriend. Dale brought the appetizer, it was a pastry, layered with bacon and cheese and tomato a roasted with some spices. We could have made a dinner out of just that. Then Anthony tossed the caesar salad and served dinner, which was chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese and something besides spices but I can't remember, sweet potato which was mashed and replaced in the skin, topped with parmesan , asparagus wrapped in bacon. And of course I brought the wine which was Moscato, Cathy's favorite. Dessert was cheesecake topped with caramelized strawberries. Then we sat around and played some new game which was hysterical and a bit off color. They took photos. but haven't sent them to me as yet. What a great evening! And glad that he had mentioned if two weeks ago, because during the week we had two other invites for my birthday LOL, oh WOW Popularity HA HA The evening flew by. Now it's dentist time to get my teeth cleaned and then the internet provider is due here this afternoon to see what the problem is. Even though we do have service right now
Oh and rainy season has started, finally!

Temperatures? ? Heat? HOT!!!!! Yesterday our outside temp read 113 degrees and they are predicting 116-117 degrees through next Thursday or Friday. Our summer has begun. And I have a terrible time with the heat now a days. Seems my tolerance for it gets less and less each year. I get up in the mornings and have my coffee and read my emails....Have my orange juice and my meds and then I am ready for a morning nap. The heat just takes the zip, zap and zinola out of me. Mary good luck with your surgery. I am sure you will be happy with the results. Would really like to see your before and after results. You have been so successful in your goal you can be proud of what you have accomplished. With my weight gain over the last year and a half I am uncomfortable and not to keen on the walking bit any more. Have problems with arthritis in my hips, my knees and my feet so walking isn't an option any more. When I go to the store I have to have a cart to hold on to, but by the time I check out I am limping. This last year living with my granddaughter did a job on me health wise and not a good decision on my daughters part to put me there while the new house was being built. Ok I'll stop with my venting now. lol

Good evening. We had an early BBQ with French Champagne for another celebration of Catherine's birthday. The week has flown and we hate to see them go. Early tomorrow morning driving to Sydney where Phillip's son lives and then back to NZ a few days later. Huronna your evening with your trainer was really something...wonderful food. Suzie...you sound a bit down and no wonder with that awful heat and arthritic pain is no joke. It seems the time with your granddaughter took a toll . Those temperatures are beyond awful. I lived outback here and I thought that was hot at round 108 degrees. You and Flagryl both live in Arizona; I looked at the map. Do you live far from each other and does the climate vary a lot. Thinking of you Mary. Flagryl...how are things with you...pain wise? I love lasagne. How thoughtful to share it with your friends. Catherine and Phillip saw lots of dolphins and whales today from the headland and of course kangaroos and their Joey's.

Silk darlin, Flagryl lives in northern Arizona in the mountains in a town called Flagstaff. There is a range of beautiful mountains called The San Francisco Peaks. Consisting of 4 peaks. She lives around the base of this range. And from her location she has an awesome view of them. I live in the middle of Arizona about 15 miles south of Phoenix. It is called Maricopa and it is desert. And Flagryl gets beautiful mild temps and lots of Ponderosa Pine tree forests. We have a lot of dirt and various types of cacti and the awful heat. I am very familiar with the area that Flagryl lives. I was born and raised in Flagstaff and lived there for years until I moved to the Phoenix area to be closer to a couple of my kids and grandkids.

Good morning all. Hope everyone here is doing fine? John and myself have a eye appointment on Wed morning to get our eye tests. It's been a long time since we had one so I'm sure our eyes have changed. Especially since we're older folks now. John my husband will probably need cataracts on both eyes . I have cataract surgery back in 2013 on my right eye and 2014 on my left eye. The ophthalmologist that did both my eyes was up in Iowa City and messed up my left eye and it has never been the same. I think he was in a big rush and I will probably have to have it redone. But won't be going back there again that's for sure. Hopefully that man that did the surgery has since retired. Since I had this cataract surgery I'm a bit scared to go to a eye doctor to check out my eyes. I don't like them messing with them , the last one that did well he got very upset with me and told me I was being a child. Excuse me but I had a bad experience with the ophthalmologist who did the surgery on my eyes. Just pray this goes well tomorrow. Weather here is a bit cooler but still no rain here in Southeastern Iowa. And that's not good at all. We need the moisture badly, not a drought.

Margie, I can hear your anxiety loud and clear...I hope all goes well for you and hubby, fingers crossed. Huronna, your birthday dinner sounds wonderful. My friend Rosemary loves Moscato. Enjoy your rain, wish ours would start. Silk, your Champagne sounds lovely w/BBQ, perfect. Suzie, I can't imagine the heat you have down there. You could fry an egg on the sidewalk! It was 91 here yesterday but gets down to high 40s low 50s at night so we open all 7 skylights and bedroom windows. Chilly in the morning but nice and then we close the blinds and shades and we are good. Suzie, I hear you about the arthritis. I'm doing okay, it's the muscles that are still reacting after the spine surgery and my shoulder needs a replacement but not going there, yet.
Mary, you are about to go into your surgey about now so we are thinking of you. So proud of you losing all that weight and now taking care of the rest.

The motor home is sick. She will not start. Battery is ok. Monday she gets towed to the caterpillar dealer in Springfield. Jerry said everything had to be taken out. Man that took most of a hot day and since it would not start there was no sir conditioner. I almost over did it getting all the cabinets empty. I left the old mattress pad on the bed and covered the new recliner love seat to keep them clean. One of the engine access places is back by the bed. Not sure where they will have to get to. The shop has a machine to hook up that will tell them what had failed. I am glad she got us home at least. Last night one of our tenants called the central air until had thrown the blade and caused damage. This morning we went down and got the part we needed to replace and then drove through tourist traffic to get to the store that has parts. Hate Branson in the summer. We got the parts and went back to the rental and got it all back together. It is working fine again. This afternoon we are to go to the lakeside campground my sis is at and join them for a picnic. It is 90 out so taking our camping chairs so we can sit in the shad. You Arizona gals. I had a friend in Black Canyon City and we would stop by her ranch and go riding in the high desert. Last time they gave me a donkey to ride. That little stuff legged beast was the worst ride I had taken. There was a beauty shop there that advertised they would “curl up and dye for you” always got a kick out of their sign. We went across I10 in the spring once when all the flowers were blooming. That was beautiful. I doubt I could live south of Black Canyon City year round. It gets to hot for me. Huronna that dinner with your trainer sounds very good Really nice of him. We’ll have to get around and get ready to go to the lake now. Later gaters..

whispy , sorry to here about your Mobile, and your rental property. So many times Joe would see something for sale and say...lets' by it and use it as rental. Not only heck no but H_E_L_L_ no! we have to call a repair person for our own place, let alone a rental and I have enough gray hair LOL
Been think about Mary all morning, looking forward to her checking in and letting us know how everything went. Margie, sorry about your cataract experience. I was scared to death because I was the type that couldn't even put drops in their eyes, and when I would have my eyes examined and they used that 'puffer" thing, I would physically have to hold my eye lids open because they automatically would close. But my suregry was a breeze, they actually did one eye on a Tuesday and the other on Friday, and I went back to work on Monday. That was back in 2008. I was taken out for lunch. Not only is she our financial advisor, but great friend and games player all during Covid, and the mother of the girl who's graduation party we went to. She brought her secretary/assistant with her. Had a lovely lunch and she gave me flowers and a cake to take home, Bu=oy does it look good, so much for diet today. After lunch I actually went shopping. I had tried a couple of times during COvid but wearing a mask, i was always deterred after about ten minutes. I bought three bathing suits, I only had two and one was decrepit from the chorine in the spa and the other was old, and need some for the upcoming cruises. Got a pair of bermuda shorts and three tops. I have a hard time finding them since I wear a petite medium. I know, I know, I'm not petite but I'm quite short waisted. So had a very productive day. Needless to say, no gym today, will make up for it tomorrow.

My doctor told him yes, in her lungs and her brain... The radiologist said that is so weird as I can't find any signs that she even had Cancer.. I am still on cloud 9 and just wanted to share this will all of you, My Birthday was on the 7th of June and I got my hair done, a cut then highlights of Blonde

Good afternoon. A wonderful sunny day. Our Frogmouth comes every dawn and sits all day in the sun. I pop my head out to say hello and it just opens it's eyes and then back to snooze. Oh joy !! Those flowers are lovely, I LOVE tulips!!! Very special. Silk I would also love Sticky Date Pudding. I had some kind of sticky pudding in Scotland, and it was yummy. I'll have to put that on my list to try. I like bread pudding too, especially chocolate/bourbon.
We drove out 180 toward the Grand Canyon is morning, it's open now after the Slate Fire closed it. The fire jumped the road and has now burned over 11,000 acres. They saved the Babbitt Cedar ranches the cowboys use and it's mostly on the ground now. Can't wait for the monsoons to start.

Good morning. Huronna those tulips are lovely and great photos of the dinner party. I like your top. Flagryl...The Grand Canyon was a sight I shall never forget . I too like bread pudding. We had the hot chocolate fondue left over on icecream last night...I'd added some Grand Marnier I've had for 50 years. I am all chocolated out. That is a lot of burnt out land. Were there people's properties involved. What wildlife is affected ... it's always so dreaded. Tilly I'm sorry you're dealing with diabetes. Lynx...I would also like to know how you're father is.

You look so lovely and happy Huronna, how special was that dinner!!! So nice to have friends who take note and honor us on these special occasions!!! Cake does look yummy. Silk, I have some Grand Marnier I've had for ages too. I've used it in Panna Cotta. Tilly, that diabetes is a real downer. So sorry. I too hope Mary is not in too much pain, dear gryl has really been through it.
Well, this morning about 5:15 I heard a plane circling, low. Hm. Kept it up. Was not a recreational Cessina or Piper Cub. Silver thing and perhaps a fire scout. Circled for almost an hour and then a red helicopter joined it, not good as that's the color of the fire copters. John drove out the end of our road and noted the copter was hovering over neighbors property 3/4 mi from us. No smoke, no alarms. We are on our county's red alert system for fire evacuation. Something was out of order. One does get jumpy during this dry/fire season.

Sure hope it wasn't a fire, they scare the bejeezers out of me. My Dad was a volunteer fireman for my whole life until he moved to Florida and retired. We were a small town, only 1 mile square and 6000 population, but there was one place that always seemed to go aflame every couple of years. The felt it was arson, for insurance, but could never prove it. Always brush fires and we would pace until my dad got home. In college one of the dorms caught on fire, not mine but we were evacuated anyway. My boyfriend and his buddied came running over to my down because they heard it was a dorm inhabited by a student names Heidi. Not me though and I never met her. I made the mistake of looking at the flames and immediately got a migraine, definitely stay away from fires. Joe had to take his laptop to the computer guy. He picked up some malware on his travels around the net. One of those that pops up and tells you you have a virus and to click here to get rid of it. Luckily he called me and I made him shut his puter off,. Many times that works, but not this time. He spends a lot of time on Facebook and I think he must click some of those adjacent ads. I keep telling him....but like talking to the wall.
