Huronna, you have every right to be disappointed in having so many cruises canceled. Do not feel badly. Everyone has life to deal with. Each have different problems. Sorry the last restaurant was disappointing. All restaurants are raising prices now. Food is more expensive and they have to pay their help more. (What little help they can get) Missouri is cutting the unemployment stimulus off in a few days. To many are not wanting to work since they are making so much on unemployment. You should hear the complaints that people are screaming. What did they do before Covid and stimulus? It is raining here again. We got two days of cold and dry. Not much sun. I did get my green bell pepper seedlings set out yesterday. It looks like it might be in the 80’s here soon. I wanted to get them set out before this rain. We are forecast to have three days of rain again. I have a beef vegetable soup cooking and we will have home made bread to go with it. Only going to be a high of 57 today. That is what it is now. Doing a bit of laundry. I discovered I had not done the grout in the motor home at the entryway. Yesterday I scrubbed it and the shower. I went out today and cleaned the kitchen sinks and restored and sealed the grout in the entryway. Now it is locked up so the sealer can dry before we walk on it. Jerry got a new double recliner installed and hooked down yesterday. Tomorrow I will take his tools out and put things back under the sink. Jerry put new filters in the water line to the ice maker in the freezer and we had stuff out from under the sink to make sure it is not leaking. I have everything in small square tubs so if anything spills or leaks it is contained and easier to find cleaning things. Ice maker is making ice but I will toss that first few out since we always do the with new filters. Never know what might wash out. Remember the motor home has been closed up and not hooked to anything over winter so dead bugs and cobwebs everywhere. Even those stinky lady bug looking things that always get in side in the fall. All dead. We might be heading to Iowa in it Thursday or Friday to see my aunt. I want to visit her before she passes. I will probably take Baxter with us but the two blind ones will stay here for Sandy to watch over. Well better close for now thought I better check in.

Hey yall!
Tomorrow is the End of the Year Party! Pizza, Kool-Aid, games, Slip-N-Slides, a Bouncy House. What can be better? I can't go outside, so I will be inside. Then more training and another three-day weekend. Ha ha, livin' the life. I applied to be a lunch lady for the fall as this job is only for the summer. Being a lunch lady would be fun too.
I got a Viking Cruise Line brochure in the mail today. They were trying to offer me an around the world cruise. That would be so lovely, but I gotta work first and I need to get my budget figured out.

Good evening. Did some chores I do before my cleaners come so am a wee bit tired. Finished dinner...and looked at Huronna's special challenge. The family arrives on Saturday and I'd like to do something with that background before that. I'll need to move. Grassy...what does a lunch lady do ? Take orders etc.? A party sounds good. I am ready to party when both families are here. Because of CoVid we've not seen Joe's side from NZ for some time. Whispy...you're human dynamo! We had two beautiful Rosella parrots feed on the deck today when the bossy Lorikeets were not looking. A joy to behold. I need to do my requests so it's goodnight and be well.

I give up Grassy. What is "Tomorrow is the End of the Year Party!" Do you have a different calendar from me? I get exhausted reading all that Whispy does, you would think she is 24 years old with all that energy. Silk, you have the loveliest sights with all your wildlife. All I get are geckos LOL Today I'm going with Joe to his monthly MOOA meeting and luncheon. (Military Officers of America-I had to look it up) I guess he joined right before COVID, and lasts month was their first in person meeting and he was in Virginia. Apparently they have a meeting, then luncheon (my friend who has gone says they are pretty good) and then some speaker. It really isn't my idea of an enjoyable afternoon, but Joe wants me to go with him. In all the years of military life, I was never a "wife joiner". I always had a job off base and wasn't interested in listening to military wives complaining because they were living away from their families, or didn't understand the language in another country. I always tried to make the very best of where ever we were stationed and always enjoyed my life. You know me, I'm not a complainer, though I do moan every once in a while. Sat is our friend's daughter's high school graduation party. It will be a fairly small group of family and friends, 25-30 I think. Most of them we have met at some time during the past year. Really looking forward to that and of course to see "Howie" their long-haired dachshund

Good morning from Iowa. Can't believe that come June 20th that's the first day of Summer. Well tomorrow things such as the temperature here is going to rise from being cool to upper 80's. Had enough rain here to but then of course don't want to complain if we go right into a drought either. whispy, make me tired with all the energy she had in cleaning her house and the motor home to seeds for her garden. Grassy I was a lunch assistance when I was in Junior High myself and I really enjoyed that time. Got my meals free when I worked and met a lot of classmates I never knew before. I missed it when I went to high school..

It never happens when you remember to save every couple of steps, but the onetime that you get so involved you forget....that’s when it happens. At least I know what I want to do with it and have all my images ready, just have to redo the tut again.... Manana

A strange phenomenom that I am very familiar with Huronna. My family arrives tomorrow. My cleaner arrived and went the extra mile. I am so tired but will rally. Joe's daughter has a birthday while they are here so plans for that.( am I repeating myself? ) They will be here on Tuesday. I just have to wash glassware that the salt air makes dull. Huronna, I love the Gekos and that little sound they make. We've had them only a few years...saw two baby ones today. You've got a couple of social events coming up...I hope the Military one surprises you. Margie nice to see you. I didn't realize you were in Iowa...Joe's grandaughter married an American and lives there.
Almost Happy Hour and I need it.

Huronna, I got a job working with Kids in an after school program. The end of the school year was Wednesday. Some kids will be with us now all day during the summer - like camp - while their parents work. We will do enrichment and educational themed programs with them. And of course always tons of playing and love. I will be working with 5th and 6th graders.
Silk, a lunch lady prepares and cooks food for the children in a cafeteria. We make a few things and the children tell us what they want and we dish it out and serve it to them.
Whispy, you are just a beehive of activity. That is great!
Not much is happening around here. I am trying to learn how to make friendship bracelets since our theme next week is friendship and love.
So many restrictions are being lifted! It is hoped that we won't have to wear our masks at school come July 1. I am fully vaccinated, so I am loving the freedom.

Thanks Grassy for that explanation. It sounds like fun. Now I need to know what a friendship bracelet looks like. My family are not arriving until tomorrow now. Ben had a last minute music job he had to finish. Julien will stay with him and Steph tonight for an early start for the long drive. It's suddenly really cold. Winter right on the knocker. I need to go to bed...had an off day but hoping tomorrow will be better. I would be lost without Joe. He does so much for me. Happy garden news for me though...lots of buds on the new shrubs. Best wishes to everyone.

It's going to be a lovely time Silk, so great to have them all with you. I'll be thinking of you. Congrats on the jobs Grassy, sounds perfect for you...are the friendship bracelets like the old ones? Whispy, you do tire me out gryl...goodness.
We spent last evening with our friends who summer up here, so great to see them finally. I took a salad and we got pizza from a local haunt, enjoyed some lovely wine and stayed late. John went to high school w/the woman and her husband is from their hometown only went to the Catholic HS. Their class is having their reunion on my birthday this Sept and we talked about all of us going back. My stepson and family are coming here early to celebrate, before my grandson starts school and my daughter will just have taken their oldest to Canada BC for his second year of college, spent the first year online. However, Amy and family [minus Nate] could join us at the cabin if logistics work out. Lots to get together but exciting if it works out.
I spend a couple of hours w/my friend Rosemary between my PT appt and getting my hair cut Thurs. She't not doing as well as I had hoped, is moving into an independent living apt down in the valley in Sept. My PT used ultra sound on my SI joint and it helped quite a bit. I am going to have my hip and knee checked out the end of this month just to be on the safe side.
I am having our book club here for lunch Wed. My cleaner came yesterday and I have everything planned. We havn't been together in over a year and a half, covid and other family issues. It will be great to see everyone.

What are you reading Flagryl? One of the kids wanted me to read Call of the Wild aloud to her, so I began and then I had to buy the book myself to keep on reading it. I am totally digging it.
Silk, as soon as I figure out the whole friendship bracelet thing, I will show you. Basically, they are braided bracelets made of embroidery floss. You knot it on your friend's wrist, and as you tie the knot, your friend makes a wish on the knot. You never take the bracelet off. When it falls off, your wish is said to come true. These things are wildly popular.
We are having record heat - over 100 F. I am just lolling about not doing a thing. Except reading.

Good Sunday morning. I have been really busy the last couple days. My Aunt Esther in Iowa is going down hill so we are leaving today to go visit them. She insists we park the motor home in one of their two driveways. We had taken everything out of the motor home when the floor of the slide out needed replaced. I have spent the last two days putting everything back. I also put food in the refrigerator and freezer. Clothes are now all in their places and slides are all pulled in ready to go. This morning is a shower and breakfast. Get trash out and we will pull out. Baxter is going with us, the two blind fur kids well stay here. Sandy will be taking care of them. It is 7 1/2 hours drive straight through, we will not be driving straight through as we have stops for Baxter. So probably take about 8 or 9 hours. Jerry wants to take the Jeep along so we will be towing it behind. I am glad it flat tows on its own wheels rather than have a dolly that goes under the front wheels. The garden is looking good. My Suddenly Susan Lilies are blooming like crazy. My day lilies will be blooming next. My mini roses are bursting their buds too. The birds are going crazy over my feeders. They will last longer than we will be gone so no problems there. We have birds visiting that I had not seen before. We have wrens that look like they were dipped in raspberry juice. Then some larger birds. Crows are trying to figure out how to get to the food. I have been put in Facebook jail for 7 days. I do not post hate or political stuff but they dislike me because they know I am a conservative. I have reported nudity and they tell me not to look at it if it disturbs me. I have reported foul language and they say the same. But I post a cartoon and they immediately block me saying I keep violating their standards. Do what? I guess laughter is not something they approve of either. Others post the same thing and it stays but if I post the same thing, then I am blocked. I am thinking of dropping FB altogether. I have had a lot of time to get things done though.
Grassy, I have found that you-tube has videos about everything and also Pinterest has instructions on almost everything. Friendship brackets were a thing s few years ago and my nieces girls were into those. However I never wanted or needed to learn how to make them. Sounds like a good inexpensive project for those kids.
Silk I know it has to be winter there. How bad does your winters get? Sounds like you going to have a busy family time.
Hurrona, I heard that some cruises will be running trial runs starting in July. That is maybe good news for you.

Whispy, WHAT? ? Facebook jail? NO WAY! You are always super NICE on there! I have been in facebook jail TONS of times, but I will always talk with people who have an issue with me. I am sorry that happened to you. Generally if you get put in jail for 7 days, it means someone reported you. I've been put in jail for stuff I wrote 15 years ago that came up on my memories that someone got offended by and then I got jail time, but they weren't offended in 2006. People have lost their sense of humor. I am glad I can still talk to you on here. I have a sock account for when I get 30-day bans hee hee. I have been a good little camper lately, though. I haven't even been put in tagging jail. The friendship bracelets have been a thing for a long time, but I never knew how to do them because I usually do wedding veils and wire wrapping and jewelry with crystals or precious gems and metals. Now, with kids, they want more inexpensive things that will keep them happy and occupied for a while. It looks like for most of this week, they will be outdoors at the pool. I learned that they originated in Guatemala among the children of the weavers and loom workers. They took the remaining strings and textile materials and made brightly colored bracelets for tourists to earn extra money for their families. The tradition of wishing on the bracelet came to the USA along with the amazing brightly colored souvenirs. And I *still* can't tie an overhand knot. Hee hee. I went on YouTube and am looking for spoken instructions. Something spoken may help me out. Thanks Whispy. I will pray for you and your family Whispy. I hope you have fun with your family Silk. It remains very hot here - 88 F today. Our power went out for a few hours this morning. Unsure why. Too much strain on the grid. The wind. Raccoons chewing on the wire. Unknown.

I am totally exhausted from the past two days of "cruise searching" The first cruise I had cancelled we too FCC. future cruise credit, and you are locked into using that. Problem is you have to book by the end of 2021 and the cruise has to be completed by 2022. With everyone in the same boat, everything we wanted was already booked solid. We finally found one but there were only suites left on the lower end, so we decided to book 3 days ahead in Copenhagen and do those days ourselves, rather than have it included in the trip.....there is lots more to this story but I won't bore you with it. Now for the most exciting and surprising that that has every happened to Joe and I. After the gym, we decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner. We sat in the bar area because otherwise there was a wait and the high top table is actually easier for Joe. We had our meal and drinks, Joe got an extra for take home. The waitress who was great brought all the containers for carry out and packed everything up. Then she said...by the way you bill has already been taken care of. WHAT? ? There was a couple who came in right after us and left before us that were sitting at the bar. They paid our entire bill and told the waitress to just say to us "Thank you for your service" (My husband always wears his military retiree cap) We were speechless. Couldn't thank them as they has already left. We are still dumbfounded.

I've never been in FB jail. I was sent to the Principal's office once in elementary school, but then worked for the girl's advisor in jr high at the switchboard.
Busy weekend. I cleaned our glass patio table, not an easy chore. I had to use goo gone on the pine sap. The weather is getting nice here, upper 70s/low 80s so nice to be outside. I also made another bug juice recipe and filled the jugs to trap the yellow jackets, really have to keep that population down. Getting ready for my book club and would you believe I ironed 6 linen napkins. We don't buy paper products and these were the only ones that go with the tablecloth I'm using because it goes with the quilt style Book Club runner than one of our members made. It's a traveling runner, very cool and I don't do quilts per se.

A beautiful day . We are planning a BBQ. Have to start early since it's dark round 5.30pm. Had an hilarious night with my boys. Julien looks tired. It's a strain for him with the voice. It's like having permanent Laryngitis. Huronna that was an amazing and wonderful gesture by those people. I hope you get that cruise. My Grandparents came from Denmark and I am always interested to see photos etc. We missed go there owing to having to spend so much time with Joe's family in various other countries. Whispy although I complain about the cold it's nothing like that which many of you experience. The lowest is round 3 degrees at night and 13 degrees daytime. I'm a wimp. FB jail.... I rarely do FB so am safe. Your Aunt will love seeing you. Grassy thank you again for the friendship bracelet story. Although I have done a lot of creative stuff in my life I still can't tie a beautiful bow. Flagryl I was once sent to the Principal's office and still remember him stroking my bottom. I was only 10 years old. I made sure I was never there again. In those days children kept quiet about such things. It's a long time since I used my linen napkins.I used to love having dinner parties and enjoy hearing of yours. I made a brandy Alexander cheese cake for Joe's daughter's birthday . Joe helped. Time to have lunch and then food prep.
