Monday will be 7 weeks since replacement. Yes the first few weeks were a trial but it got better each week. This morning. Got up with hardly any pain. Did my exercises, ate breakfast, took a couple zucchini brownies to my sister for her break snack, Burned the trash, moved my plants into the house, (It was 55 this morning and tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 48 and house plants do not like anything below 50.) clipped my long hair dachshunds paw pads (When the hair between his paw pads gets long it collects trash IE:mud and he feels insecure so clip it when it gets under his pads), and cooked dinner. Yes the knee is telling me about it. I do not need any pain pills though which is a good thing. I got an email saying my EOB was ready for August. 42 pages long of all the charges and what the insurance paid and what I paid out of pocket. I paid more out of pocket than they showed. So the hospital said I have a credit. Why did’ the they just mail it to me? Insurance man called the hospital and the hospital is sending a check. Then they charged me a yearly fee for my blood pressure meds the. Hospital would not let me bring. Insurance denied the bill. So filed a five page form along with four more pages to prove I paid to get my money back from insurance company. I bet l have to send more information too. I still have to clean the dog pen and that can wait until tomorrow. In six weeks we vote so going for the Wednesday after the election if they will do surgery on Wednesday. Right leg was on a Monday. If not. I will go to the court house and do absentee voting. I am going to vote. Doing surgery the first part of November would have it healed well enough by Christmas. Did I wear you out? Glad your air conditioner is in now Huronna. We used a shallow well at the park to water grass with. Yes it stinks but saves on water bill. Here at our house we have a 600 ft deep well for all of our water. Our electric bill runs about 180 a month. Flagryl I know your sister says no on knees but I do not like to take pain meds. Sorry you have to wait on your shoulder. Grassy, I will be 47 In Nov. then. But hubby says he is 29 every year. Well off to raise cane in Marvelous.

Margie, I am 53, but I moisturize, so I don't look my age. And I darn sure don't act my age either! Age is just a number. Ha ha, Sid is 19 years older than I am. When he met my mother for the first time, she did say something about that age difference, and Sid said, "Oh, don't worry, Mrs. Healy, I'm totally immature." Snort.
Huronna, How is that AC going?
Whispy, do they have early voting in your state? We do in Minnesota. I have to wait until they have the machine for visually-impaired people or vote Absentee. In 2016, I had breast cancer surgery on Election Day, so I had to go vote early. I just have this feeling that this election is going to be so insane. I hope and pray that people don't flip out.
Things here are great. Went to the store. Got food. Ha ha. Ate a jelly doughnut. They are soft. It was a prune one so not too sweet. I haven't had one in so long! It was decadent and delicious!
I have to go to Rochester for that stupid COVID test. It kind of makes me mad that we have to make a 90-mile round trip when there is a Mayo Clinic 12 miles from us, but the Mothership must have a good reason for making me come all the way to Rochester. The COVID test itself is pie easy. Remember not so long ago when I was scared of it? I have had several now because they have you do them before anything like an EGD or colonoscopy or biopsy. I just want to put people's minds at ease. It's not scary or horrible. It made my nose tickle a little bit.

Grassy, my real age in Nov will be 74 and hubby is 75. Not much age difference. In Feb we will celibate 55 years since we said I do.

I think Grassy is one of our younger members, and if I recall so is Mary. Many of us long timers are now in our 70's though we were in our 50's when we started here. Long time for people to be together on sites like these.
Wow Whispy, 55 years that is great. We are 47 this past March, legally anyway. We "lived in sin" for a while before HA HA. My hubby is three weeks younger than I and he always say I robbed the cradle.
We have two members who are the matriarchs, but I won't mention their names just in case and of course neither one acts their age. But then do any of us?
I have voted absentee since the 70's because we lived overseas for so many years. And just got in the habit of it. Then when we finally moved back to the stated in 2000, I worked 2nd shift and couldn't risk standing in lines and being late for work. so I have just continued. I'm a registered Republican, so I vote in all the primaries also. Absentee also. But I request my ballots and the day I get them I fill them out and sent them in and then I track them, just to make sure. Actually I think once I did vote here in person and it was so disorganized I decided never again.
Well The AC was completed yesterday and then we went to a friends for dinner and games. We always have a great time with them and really enjoy their two kids which are both in high school. Not only are they really bright and personable but are just the nicest. To bad some one our little relatives aren't the same, they sure could take lessons LOL.
Grasssy, I didn't have a COVID test when I had my surgery. Though they did ask me all those specific questions, the same as when I had the MRI. Still haven't had one, no symptoms no need for test.
Well off to see what trouble I can get into, see you all later

I had the covid test before my surgery. It was done by the hospital and came back negative. I did not mind getting one from them. I knew it would not be a false positive. I have had no symptoms and have been very few places. We are getting ready today to take our motor home to Kansas to see some cousins, nieces and a sister in law. Only going to be gone a few days and we are towing our Jeep. Have not called my surgeons office yet for a surgery date. Mary your a young lady to me. Congratulations on having a daughter. We wanted children but long story short we have opposite blood types and miscarriages run in my family. I am O- . I would have loved to have had a baby but settled for our fur kids. They resemble their dad in hairy legs and chest. LOL Huronna 47 years is great too. I really did not think we would make it to 50 years but now we say we don’t want to train another partner. You all have a great weekend.

arghhhhhhhhh, we had a glass of red wine while I was making dinner, and guess who fell asleep in his chair with the glass in his hand. What a mess!Joe can't get down on the floor and so of course I had to do it. broken glass everywhere, and you couldn't sweep it up because it was mixed with wine. Lots of paper towels. and the trash basket, and then lots of Fabulosa to clean the floor and his chair. I think I'm ready for another glass of wine right now. Of course the floor is really cleaned now LOL..what can I say, just another day in our house

Oh my gosh Huronna. Let's just hope none of those little shards didnt go scattering away and your find them in your bare feet. That is always what I am afraid of when I break glass.
Its been a quiet day here. Cool outside so I went out and finished the book I was reading. Now on to another one.
I really need to get Phoenix over here to help me get my sewing room moved and set back up so I can get back to those projects also. Then I need to get my cleaning lady to come clean everything good. She is going to hate me for all the dust I stirred up by cleaning out, but by downsizing I figure her dusting job will be a lot easier for her. Lol
Tomorrow is Jen's birthday. She's going to be 46. Just a kid yet. My oldest turned 52 this past Jan. I'll soon have another great grand baby. December 21 they think. That will be 6 greats for me. Geez, that makes me feel ancient. LOL
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Leaves are changing here, we have already had our first and second frost and snow in the Black Hills. I can't believe how short the summers are here, long winters and no spring. I'm past ready to go home!!

Great news Grassy. Flagryl I feel for you. I wish all those feeling under the weather some relief. I have my son Ben and his lovely partner coming tomorrow for a few days visit so I'll be a bit scarce...can't wait for the hugs and oh yes, the wine and conversation. Haven't been feeling well so this will buck me up. Some hoon roaring down our road last night at midnight hit a kangaroo and didn't stop but there is evidence that the car was damaged. I didn't hear it but our neighbour did. Often if people stop a baby can be saved from the pouch. Too late in this case...depressing.

ok, I had to find my Aussie dictionary . I didn't know if a hoon was a misspell or what, though I did get the idea A hoon, in Australia and New Zealand, is a person who deliberately drives a vehicle in a reckless or dangerous manner, generally in order to provoke a reaction from onlookers. Hoon activities (or hooning) can include speeding, burnouts, doughnuts, or screeching tyres. And now we learned yet another word LOL Very sad about the roo

Whispy I hope you have a nice trip to Kansas, sounds like a nice outing and Silk how wonderful to have your son and partner around...lovely. We have hoons around here but they mostly hit elk or deer and also damage their vehicles. Anita, I always look forward to my cleaning person coming. Mine is going to come again next week and clean/polish all the woodwork. She found some spider nests yesterday in our hall closet!
Oh Huronna. As you know my left arm has a new bone spur and before the PRP I accidentally knocked over a good wine glass drying on the counter when I was trying to reach over it to get something out of the cupboard. Shattered hither and yon and John had to clean it up. And, a few weeks earlier John dropped a good crystal wine glass I've had for over 50 years, actually knocked it on the counter top after washing. I was able to buy the last 2 from replacements. I just hope these things don't come in 3s.
Arm is still sore and now I get a headache when on the treadmill, which they said I could do but evidently it's too early. I do think it has made a difference but still early to tell for sure.
Grassy, glad the COVID test wasn't bad. COVID cases are really up here because of the University and other school openings, in the major zip codes for our city and not including the zip for NAU which is itself high. Some restaurants and bars here and in Sedona are shutting down. We are such a small community and all shop in same places, I was afraid this might happen. My husband's ophthalmologist in Prescott said his uncle died from COVID after being infected by his son who had not worn a mask. The uncle's son recovered. Goodness.
On the good side, it's been lovely weather here with highs in upper 70s and upper 30s at night. We are getting smoke from the California fires but not terribly bad. So nice to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.

I am sure sorry about your antique glass Flagryl, but glad it's not only in my house LOL. Well lets see, I wanted to get some new leggings for the gym, ones that you can actually were out. I had seen ads on TV for SKECHERS and they were exactly what I wanted. There was supposed to be a SKECHERS in the Mall by us. so twice I went there and looked for it. First time nothing and the second I realized it was actually called SKECHERS Shoes, so I went back another time and relooked at the directory and found it....but it was closed , nothing in the spot...sigh. So I bit the bullet and ordered on line. Of course then I had to pay shipping and handling, but there was a 20% discount for first time buyers. They arrived today and they were just what I wanted and fit perfectly....BUT....it was my first and last order, because the merchandise was "made in china" pfftt!! they will not get my business again!
Item #2. Both my husband and I have flip phones. We rarely ever use them. Only when we are traveling and then to just call someone and tell them how far away we are etc. Or I use mine to call Joe when I am away since everyone now has their own phones and not like the old days of the land lines (we still have one of those). Well I got a notice "Your phone associated with ----- wasn’t built to be compatible with these network changes and will lose Service soon. It’s important that you upgrade to a newer model right away to keep up with the changes and continue enjoying the coverage you’ve come to depend on.----so bit that bullet and went to the trafone site and bought us both the same simple smart phone. They should arrive tomorrow. Another change to get used to, should be easy for me, but my husband actually did this once and he could never remember how to do anything. in Fact he put a password on it, never wrote it down and then after his hospitalization had no idea what it was. Down the drain that one went and back to the flip phone...wish me luck

A word I don't know in the context of phones. I should get an American dictionary. A flip phone ? I made a mistake ordering something through Amazon for the first time. I hadn't realised the item was from America. It was $52. When the exchange rate and freight was added it would have been $134. A costly error, however I was able to cancel the order by checking out the email they sent. I was in a panic though for a while. The item was electrical and I also would have needed a converter. A lesson learned. We also have had some costly breakages when the men are clearing up. Some precious. It's sad to lose something you cherish. It's difficult to buy a lot here that isn't made in China . I hope more countries make a stand.

Hi Tigerlilies! Wow - I learn so much on here! I love Skechers shoes, but I haven't tried their clothing. Since I am a big gal, I like to buy from Kate Hudson's brand Fabletics. Made in the USA and very reasonable priced. Leggings for inexpensive and they go to higher sizes. And bras in Big Gal sizes. I get my Big Girl Panties at a place called Woman Within. Good Materials and comfy. I think Lane Bryant owns them. Silk, a flip phone is a phone that is folded on itself and then you open it up to talk and then flip it shut when not in use. Hang on and I will take a picture of Sid's. He loves his and he refuses to purchase a smart phone or iPhone.

I love going to Canada because if you use a credit card (not a debit card) you get the rate that is from your own country. Since the rate of exchange between Canada and the USA is always less expensive for the USA, it always has worked in my favor. Plus Poutine ha ha.
Ha ha, now I forgot everything I was going to saw about all the awesome posts here! Ha ha! I am a dingdong!
I hope everyone is OK. My COVID test was negative so I am good to go for the stupid EGD. I am stoked that they scheduled it for the last appointment of the day. Then Infectious Diseases on Tuesday and then I am free as a little birdy until Halloween week! Heck yeah!
Has anybody heard of Brach's brand Thanksgiving Dinner candy corn? It's six flavors of candy corn that taste like Thanksgiving - turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. I am not much of a candy corn person, but I want to try this! There is a soda pop company here in Minnesota that makes Thanksgiving dinner flavored soda pops. The turkey and gravy one is not bad - it's just weird drinking carbonated turkey flavor. Green bean soda pop is terrible, but at least I said I tried it.

Hey Sid has the same type of phone as we do. The only reason I originally got one was the kids I worked with started all having a fit when they found out I was driving the freeway at 11 at night without a phone. In all the years I never needed it. I do like having it when I visit friend without Joe because I like to keep in touch with him every day. remind him of things and give him lists HA HA.
That candy really sounds disgusting Grassy bleck!! the only kind of candy I like is chocolate and I definitely prefer dark Chocolate. I can leave anything else, but if I see a piece of that I'm a goner.
Another early morning for me. Actually was asleep before 12:30 Woke at 5:30, visited the loo of course, and then laid there until 6:30 when I decided to get up. So here I am, ready or not HA HA

Good morning world. I've been awake since 5:17 this morning. Been in bed before midnight now going on 3 months so I guess I finally got out of hubby's graveyard shift schedule. After 6 years I guess it's time, but he worked nights for many years so I guess it was bound to be a slow process.
John and I had flip phones for a long time. I changed mine out for a smart phone which I have upgraded twice since 2012. He still had his flip when he passed.
Grassy, I agree with Hur about that candy and those drinks. Yuck!! I'm partial to white chocolate, but always have a large bag of M&Ms or Hersheys kisses in my sewing room. Ya know us quilters have to have our chocolate!!! 😁
Weather is to be mostly sunny today with a high of 74° and a lite breeze. Hopefully some of the smoke has cleared this weekend in the wind. I have a couple photos of how dense it was here from Cali. and Oregon. I'll post them in a bit. It was creepy looking with how thick it was.
Whispy,be safe on your journey.
Silk, I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Grassy, I hope your tests and everything come out OK. It's good news about your mammogram and Covid tests. You have way too much on your plate.
Flagryl, that shoulder pain sounds gruesome. It's a shame you have to wait so long to have that surgery. Hopefully the procedure you had will begin taking effect.
Ok gang, I'm off to have coffee and read for a bit. I can see a nap in mine and Hur's future. LOL. Be good and enjoy your day.

Grassy, that stuff sounds gross for sure. Too much sugar for me anyway, but I hope that test comes out on the good side for you. John has a flip phone but I think he needs to get the new flip. He tried to use my iPhone after my surgeries and it was a challenge for him. I like having the clock w/alarm and timer. I would set it for my pain pills and he could barely manage turning it off. Oh well.
I think the PRP has helped but won't know until I can get back to taking NSAIDS, which is next Wed. Still hurts like the devil and I can't even use the lotion bottle w/left hand. Was able to get on the treadmill yesterday, 10 min at a time x3.
I need some new leggings/tights made in USA. I go in for Xray, 9 mo check on back but my tights have zippered pockets in the waistline so that won't work. I buy a lot on Amazon as there is so much I cannot buy here in town. BTW, New Balance running shoes are made in USA.

Well here is what our skies have been looking like. A LOT of smoke in the air from the fires in Oregon and Cali. Air quality is very poor. I stay in as much as I can. I really feel for the folks with breathing issues because I don't have any and it's hard for me. The one with the sun lover in the photo was taken Friday morning about 11:30 and the one taken through the screen was Sat afternoon about 2-ish. It is so strange because to the naked eye the sun was nothing but a red ball, but the camera only picked up the red rays that couldn't go anywhere because of the smoke and that's why there is a red ring around it. I feel sorry for all these people who are losing their homes and worse, and then so many have devastation from all these hurricanes again this year. The Nat. Weather Channel said last night that 9 named storms have made landfall in the past couple of month and there is a lot more out there brewing. Sorry they are so large. I didn't realize my phone took that large of a picture. LOL

Goodmorning everyone...a mix of sunshine and cloud today. I am stoked....for the first time in ages I felt well this morning and what I was hoping for with Ben and Steph being here. A nice shoulder massage from Ben too. Chocolate....I was allergic for years and it drives the family mad to see how long I keep any chocolates in the fridge. Ben was also allergic but now makes up for it . We both suffered migraine if we ate it. Anita those photos are super...very eerie...I hope the fires get under control. Glad to know you're getting to bed earlier after all those years of unnatural hours. How is 'my' Gracie? Thanks for your good wishes. Ah Flagryl , you're doing it really tough. I found what I was looking for online and no freight charges. Joe is calling me for coffee...on the deck to watch the birds and our water dragon. I have to cut this short. Best wishes to everyone.

OMG! That EGD went awful today! This is complicated and weird, but long story short, we did not know who requested it. I thought Infectious Diseases had, but it turned out another doctor - a newbie - requested it and it was too early, but nobody recognized his name and because it was a different service, nobody knew to look and see that I had had one August 5th. I told them that, but I got the "Well, a Mayo Clinic doctor requested it blah blah blah." I followed the directions to the letter. They said I was allowed to eat food up until 8 hours before the procedure. 15 hours prior I figured I would have my feast. I had chicken tenders and spuds and green beans with a Raspberry Tootsie Pop for dessert while I read my book. Then I drank water. I was the last procedure of the day today so 4:15. OMG! The Procedurist yelled at me for eating within 24 hours of the EGD! I showed her my printed directions, and she told me they were wrong. I raised an eyebrow and said Doesn't your Department do them? Yep, that is the PERFECT way to go about making friends with your Procedurist! She continued to scold me. My nurse saved me. I have such BIG LOVE for my nurses! And now I know something new. I asked for Scopolamine, but they said no. I like getting my stuff done on the 10th floor better than the 2nd I tellya what. So I had the procedure done. The Procedurist was afraid I would still have food in my stomach so she intubated me for a 15-minute thing. I have never needed that for any of the EGD's I have had before. Now I can't talk and my throat hurts. But big love to her for keeping me safe. Here's the thing. I had no food in my stomach. I have been following my gastroparesis diet and I am doing good. There would be no cooties because I am still on the high-dose medicines. And then I finally got my first look at the paperwork. This EGD had been called in, so nobody could tell. Once they printed out the discharge instructions, we could see. It was the Newbie I had seen in Gastro back in August. I just needed to get back into the Mayo pipeline. He had ordered the August 5 EGD and sent me to Infectious Diseases. I needed the internal referral. So he did great. No problems. But today's EGD was ordered by him because of a pain diagnosis. Except I don't have pain issues. Just cootie trouble right now. But he will figure it out. He's new. This no no, though. I see Infectious Diseases tomorrow. I hope I can talk by then.

My husband can tell when I am getting pissed at "someone in authority" who doesn't know their a.. from a hole in the wall. Things in the medical field really tick me off, probably cause I know too much for my own good. Well you are done with this and are still smiling, so that is a good thing. And I'm sorry you had to go through such a mess.
