Jumping the gun, you think.....no pun intended......yes, but you see, I didn't plan on doing an Easter tag. I planned on making a kangaroo tube. I did that, but he looked very serious and stern. Cute is difficult for me, it seems. I tinkered until I got this face. Then I thought I should have something riding on him......sorry, Madge lovers, I forgot about her. Well, I had the mouse from the ski slope, so I doctored it into a bunny. Since it was a bunny, the Easter bonnet came to mind and that's how I got here. Since this, as it is(without the big credit...lol), is 142 kbs., so I', thinking I can get by with some fine tuning. The bunny, of course, has to leave his seat....assuming it will even show. I'll try to work on it as I can.....between wrapping gifts and house cl***ing (ugh.) This is the same as I'm posting on the msn site. I wasn't sure if we have members here who don't belong there.

Neo, you've really got the kangaroo hop down pat it has that lovely loping smoothness. This morning we had 5 back of our house with a joey head and one foot out of Mum's pouch. feeding on the grass.

I'm working on the tail. I don't think I'll try for realism, because I think the roo woould actually lean forward and the tail would go up in back.......way....way too much trouble...lol

LOL I have to laugh Silk. In my part of the country, when I look out the back door I see deer. It has got to be something to see joeys. LOL I live in NE Ohio and I might even see a fox occasionally but other than my birds, raccoons, squirrels or an occasional opossum or groundhog, that's about it. LOL

Neo, I just love it! The hopping is so smooth. Can I ask how long it takes you to make something like that? Do you use a tut?

No tut, Susy. For the kangaroo, I searched the internet to look at lots of pics, so I could form a clearer idea of what they look like. For the jumping on this one, I just moved the feet downward and gradually rotated them as if they are pushing......then dangling at the top of the jump.
I used the copymerged method to put them into AS.....exported to PSP and realigned them. Let me see if I can come up with a pic to demonstrate.

This is how the legs compare after I have lowered and rotated them. The points where the feet attach to the legs remain the same for continuity.....just the feet have been moved. Below is what the animation looks like at this point. Below shows how I have lined up the feet. and raised the ones in the air

I am scared of kangaroos. Not to the extent that Huronna is of s's, but you made kangaroos less frightening, so thank you.

I think Neo stands in front of the mirror, jumping up and down to get the right movement. Now about the tail? ? I'm not really sure, all I know is that Neo is amazing

Oh Susy....I was so disappointed when I visited the USA not to see a deer in the wild...or a moose but hubby saw one when my back was turned . I did see black bear...wonderful, skunk so cute, squirrels and bison, oh, yes...armadillas. We have deer in Aus. but farmed, however ,some have gotten out in the bush just like camels did many years ago . Silk

Neo...the roo actually uses the tail as a balance and it doesn't go up the back.

Neo is the bomb! She seems to do things with such ease and such grace, dare I say perfection? Well...... in my eyes YES! I never see a flaw in the finished product, and rarely in the process either, lol. Thanks for sharing and the great SS's to take us threw the motions.

Now you might think this is a step backwards, but I don't consider it that way. I decided to strip the kangaroo down to body and legs......then export to psp and create the tails. Why strip him, you ask. Because I confuse easily.....lol I was working to get the tail to leave the tip on the ground as the base rose with the kangaroo. When the roo gets high enough, the tail can dangle. I also wanted to add the slightly squished one as he sinks into the landing.

It's fascinating seeing your progressive steps Neo in this animation...I am over-awed and just can't imagine the special way your brain figures it all out. Silk

Okie dokie...the eggs are moving up and down. The idea is that they sink in deeper as the pouch moves upward and then sort of hangs in the air and drops into the pouch agai on the landing. I don't even know if it will show on the final animation, but I tried.

I'm thinking this is where the bunny's feet will be, but I won't know for sure until I see how/where the bunny and his arms work. The idea was tha the bunny is still moving upward when the roo starts dropping. He sinks lower on the up jump. I won't even admit how hard I tried to do this without merging the roo's legs to the body (I like layers) but I just could not keep track of the legs to the body to the jump positions to what the bunny would be doing.

BUMMER!! If you notice, I didn't think this through very well. Those bunny feet are slicing right through the kangaroo's armpits....lol I'm going to see if they look okay and if it will work to have them move outward. Otherwise they'll just have to stay under the armpits.

Well.... knock on wood........that may have worked out all right. Moving the bunny feet outward, too, makes it more dramatic.

The bunny is still invisible, but there's a hand to anchor him.....lol I'm done for tonight.

We have a bunny...woo hoo! He's having a little trouble keeping up with the bigger hopper, but I think he'll be able to hang on....lol I am thinking, though, that instead of his left hand staying anchored, I'll have it slide up a little, so his little arm doesn't have to stretch so much when bunny is higher than the hopper. It will take a little readjusting, because on the layer palette the bow is on the layer with the roo's head. I need the hand to go over the ribbon which is around the roo's neck, but under the bow itself.
