I believe I remember and think I read that you don't have to reinstall Filters Unlimited, just keep it in your My Plugins folder with all the other plugins. Is that right? Seems like that's what I did when I got my new computer.
Secondly, does anyone here keep a list of the plugins that have to be reinstalled, not just copies. I know Alien Skin plugins require installation and Topaz, just wondered if anyone has kept a list you might share.
I'm transferring my data and getting ready to set up PSP programs.

I don't keep a list Flagryl. I do know that alien skin requires something special, but I don't remember what. Sorry I'm not much help. I'm sure someone will come along and can give you the info you need.

* Cybia (The Works) Alpha, Colour, Edge, Emboss, MasterBlaster, Mezzy,Screenworks, SwapShop Xenofex Ulead At least those are the ones I have (so far) identified as being troublesome. I'm also in the process of getting my plugins loaded And yes, I'm also making myself a list for "next time"

Okay, no advice on Filters Unlimited. Perhaps none of you use it. I'm just take my best shot. I am recording the plugins that need installation and will post.

Sorry, no info on any special treatment for Filters Unlimited.
I crashed the other day, and when I "pointed" to my old plugins file -- there it was.

Don't know if this will help, and I think I gave a list of some of these to Kitt a while back. These are the plugins that I had to re-install when I upgraded to Windows 10. When my upgrade was done and I opened my PSP, these are the ones that wouldn't work. I re-did all of my plugins at the time just to clean them up. These are the ones that I had to go and find new downloads.
Eye Candy 3, 4, 5
Andromeda Distort Funhouse LenK Neology Pixelate Psychosis Ulead also Xenofex also
Cybia was fine Filters Unlimited - I'm pretty sure it was fine too cause it was there when I opened PSP after my upgrade and I don't have it marked on my list of having to download again.
Here's where I found some of them. http://wwwDOTcrealinegraphicDOTcom/ (replace the DOT with a . )
Not sure if I can give the clickable link

Thx Susy, LenK worked for me just copying. But, I've never been able to get Andromeda to work, did the whole folders thingy. I have the zip file and the folders. I have everything working. Xenofex 1 will not install because it won't let me decide where to install and it can't find the plugins folder but that's okay, don't need it. I will print out a list of those needing installation, not copy/paste into MyPlugins.

I'm thinking that some of this has to do with system / version combinations.
As I mentioned, I had to reinstall PSP a couple of days ago so I just checked the ones susy listed and here are my results:
Eye Candy 3 worked fine Eye Candy 4 worked fine Eye Candy 5 separate Andromeda worked fine Distort worked fine Funhouse worked fine LenK don't have Neology worked fine Pixelate worked fine Psychosis don't have Ulead separate Xenofex sepatate
I may have misspoken about Cybia -- it didn't want to live in the plugins file in the first place and wouldn't let me direct it there. At any rate -- I have it marked for "special handling".

I fought with one plugin, Graphics Plus, tried everything imaginable but wouldn't work, no way no how and believe me I tried heaps of things. Exhausted my options. It's one you have to install too!

I will trade you one Graphics Plus for one Zenofex.
Graphics Plus was operational for me as soon as I pointed to my plugins folder.
It may do with the combinations / configuration you have. I've heard people saying that there are some plug-ins that simply won't work.
As Graphics Plus is just a collection of .8bf files -- have you tried them in Filters Unlimited or just copying them straight into your plugin file? Have you tried a "newer" copy of the plugin? Several designers have modified their plugins to work with the newer versions.

I don't think that the version has anything to do with it. I have 3 different versions and have never had a plugin go into one but not the other/s.
When I re-did mine after the upgrade, and cleaned them all out, every one of them ended up working. The list above are the ones that I went to that site and got and they all worked after re-installing them.
Xenofex1 gave me a headache but after working at it for a whole day, I gave up, but, when I opened PSP the next morning, it was there. LMBO It's tricky and tempermental.
Filters Unlimited is possessed. LMBO I worked on it for days and nothing, nada, it would not shot in my PSP. Unfortunately I can't remember what I was doing at the time, but I opened my PSP one day and viola, there it was in all of it's glory with tons of the plugins/filters and they all worked. Have no clue how, who, what, where, but it works and I treat it like a baby kitten. LMBO

When I upgraded from not only a brand new hard drive, but them from XP to 10, I had some trouble with plugins-but like Susy sais, one day I hope things up and filters that were not working, started working. The only one I have any trouble with now is FU. It won't let me import anything and many of the filters that previously were imported flew into cyber space

Filter's Unlimited did not need to be reinstalled, just copied over into a folder in My Plugins. More later...

Here's my experience:
Filters Unlimited can be copied/pasted into the folder used for My Plugins. Too funny about it showing up one day for you Susy...LMBO
Plugin Filters that require installation [not copy/Paste] into new HD/Computer Alien Skin: Eye Candy 3, Eye Candy 4000, Eye Candy 5 Nature, Eye Candy 5 Impact, Eye Candy 5 Texture Xenoflex 2 Squirlz, Reflect, Topaz Clean 3
For whatever reason, I cannot install xenoflex 1, Snowflakes or Snowscape. I know these are old filters but others I have are old as well. I even tried FM Patcher on the files that installed but wouldn't work. No go.
I do agreed w/Susy that FU is possessed. Before I reformatted the new HD and when I had Win 10, FU had to be reinstalled and I had to import all the filters and then it just stopped and wouldn't let me install anymore. Those I'd imported worked. Now I can import. I do import some .8bf filters into FU and just did Sapphire. However tried to import Snowscape since it wouldn't work in my My Plugins folder as a fresh install but it went into cyberspace.
The biggest pain was importing all the Alien Skin filter settings from tutorials. I vow to put all those into one folder for easy access next time rather than hunting for each. I have too many tutorial folders.
I have to say I like Win 7 better than Win 10 and I'm staying with it. I loved One Note in Win 10 because I could keep track of all my feathers but it screwed me up on its math once, more my fault but still.
Maybe I'll get brave and try Andromeda again, I have all files on separate CD for install. But, not sure it's worth it. I also have not reinstalled KPT but have all those files. I never really used that one.

All of my plugins are on an external plugged in to my computer ( I have 2 plugged in ) Don't know what I will do if they ever fail! All my tubes are there, too!
Ok, after reading the last post...Will alien skin filters import into FU? I did not know that and I will wait to hear.

Alien Skin Plugins have to be installed not copied to a folder used by PSP. You cannot import Alien Skin plugins/filters or settings into FU. I was referring to the Alien Skin filter "settings" that are used w/AS Eye Candy 5 for example w/Impact Glass and Perspective Shadow. Many tutorial writers provide the AS filter settings to use w/their tutorials. You double click on them and they install immediately.
When you install Alien Skin plugins to your folder, AS also creates a folder on your C: drive to be used by your system but your plugins, the actual files can be installed to the folder where you keep all your other plugins, ie a sub folder in My Documents for example. I've never kept my plugin folder on an External. Dragonfly, do you install your plugins that require installation on your c: drive or keep ALL, including Alien Skin, on your External? How does Alien Skin work for you?
