Thanks go to Holly for this tutorial
Rotating Forum Avatars and Tags
Go to www.ImageRotation.com
(as Neophyte said it is helpful if you open it twice in different windows so you can look at both rotators next to each other)
The Home page gives you instructions about having your images hosted at one of the websites such as ImageShack or Photobucket. Then you can follow their instructions to set up a rotator. If you want synchronization you need to set up two rotators. One for the tag and one for the avatar. The settings for each must be identical except for the name. I set it up like this:
Rotator Name: Fav1 and Fav1AV
Order: Linear
Rotation Interval: Your choice but I “Rotate every 1 Day”
Timezone: mine is GMT-6
Click on Add Image Rotator
A new page will come up with a box. Go to your host and select the tag images you want included, copy and paste them into the box. (Make sure you use the direct codes) Click on Add/Remove Images. They will appear as a list lower on the page.
Repeat this in the second rotator selecting your avatar images. Be sure they are in the same order.
Someone said they prepared by copying and pasting the urls on pages in notepad before transferring them to the rotator. Then you can check to make sure they’re in the same order.
Even so, if you have a problem just under where you insert the urls you will see a block that says “To change the order of the urls, insert urls or delete urls by editing the list, click here.” This brings you to a list of the actual urls where you can move them around easily.
After you have the rotators set up click on the Rotators tab and you will return to the page where your new rotators will be listed as well as the urls you will use depending on where you want the rotation to appear. This is where you might have a problem. For the avatar rotation you must select the url (Use the direct one) which you will place in the box in your profile on the forum for the avatar. For the signature you will use the"Image"code to place in the signature box on the forum. As instructed you will replace the word “example” with the name you have given your rotator. This makes it really easy to change your rotations by just changing the name on the forum. You don’t have to delete the old rotator, just change the name.
