Chilly G is my rapper name. I got a job! In my mama's town Austin, about 40 miles west of here. I will be working in a call center. Because I am legally blind and have to cross into another county to work, it's not cost effective for me to get rides with the Handi-Van because they won't go into Mower county, and Sid says it would be expensive to drive me. So I may need to stay with my sweet little mama. My lease is up in November, so I am hoping to make a seamless move to where I am transitioning right from the townhome here into a new place in Austin. I am a Marine Corps brat, so I can pack up and move in about a day and a half. Don't like it, but I am a good little mover. Rochester is bigger and there's more access to transportation and fun free things to do. But you can walk from one end of Austin to the other, and I know everyone. So I will have to be clever and make sure I don't get stuck paying rent two places and also don't tie up all my finances in deposits and sureties. But yay - a job! I was getting worried I'd be stuck eating Fancy Feast if this continued! Sid is a little sad that we'll be separated. He says I am more entertaining than the TV. He's also applied in Austin. He's an industrial electrician so he will have a good chance at finding work.

Good news, Grassy. You won't have as much time for PSP but you'll have more money in you pocket which is a good thing.

LOL, yep I sure will be posting still! Sid and I looked at a house in Blooming Prairie today on our way home. The house is 2200 sq. ft. larger than my townhome but $300 less in monthly rent! It's on a half acre which the landlady said I could landscape how I want! It's been ages since I have had a yard to play in! So of course, application, checks, etc and sweat whether we'll get it! LOL, I was pretty serious when I worked at Charter because of our strict handle times, but when I worked in the Government call center and someone from Afghanistan called with 45 requisitions to check and enter, there was time to talk. It was a fun fun way to spend 3rd shift! Ha ha, I went home at 7 a.m., and if one of my "regulars" called after 7, they'd be all sad that I had gone home :-)
Just to tell you how small Austin is, I went in for my drugs test and the first person I saw was my high school Journalism teacher! And then one of my classmates administered the test!
How awesome is this - I will be at the football game on Homecoming night this year!
